Myst is a video game that was published in 1993, which has spawned 4 sequels and a spin-off MMO.

Mist is another word for fog.

Myst gets used rather frequently by Tumblrfolk who don't seem to know the difference when they tag their photos of fog-bound terrain. This blog is for posting "mys-tagged" photos that have been creatively repurposed to include elements from Myst games.

This concept was originally created by RivenRecog on the mistnotmyst blog, which shut down when they left Tumblr at the end of 2013. We're just trying to carry on their fabulous legacy. If you're RivenRecog and you'd rather we stop, just say so.
