that being said!!! it's undeniably shitty that that man and his state rep son were invited, regardless of their relationship to travis and what T+T may or may not know about his business. I'm so fucking tired of hearing about how we have to "widen the tent to change minds" every time the fandom has this argument. it's a shitty excuse and it only works if you're actively using your relationships with these people to challenge their beliefs (which simply does not seem to be the case here). I also think it's unfair to apply normie standards to this situation. this guy is not the same as your random republican friends or family members, he's not ignorant or misinformed he's choosing to harm people because it makes him money!! he is not going to change his mind!!
