i wanna talk about pomni's anger issues. all her outbursts were quite reasonable and understandable, given the circumstances of the circus, but that doesn’t negate the fact that pomni has issues with anger management
this is hinted at in the earlier episodes. her anxiety distracts us from analyzing the core of her character, as that anxiety isn't the main component of pomni's traits as a person
in episodes 2-3, she is still anxious about what’s happening, but she slowly begins to open up. in episode 3 with kinger, when he called out even the slightest mistake, pomni barely managed to control herself and constantly snapped at nothing, ultimately breaking down in tears. of course, there was reason for this, just like for her other outbursts, but it doesn't change her anger management issues
in episode 5, pomni had a relative break, so she was generally more relaxed, even though ragatha yelled at her, but in episode 6, total chaos began
pomni's reaction to jax's words was truly out of control, as she literally hit him, choked him, and threw objects while trying to figure out what nonsense jax was saying. jax himself asked pomni twice if she had lost her mind, not expecting such an explosive reaction from her, which again highlights her anger management problem. she’s not a "psychologist," as the fandom likes to characterize her; she’s not the person who will fix jax's problems or anyone else's. pomni ended up in the circus for a reason. like everyone else, she is also a representation of various mental struggles that the show explores
there's a reason for pomni's reaction to jax's words. she doesn’t like being not taken seriously. "you're a cartoon clown; how am i supposed to take you seriously?" jax asks directly, which angers pomni even more. she hates being looked down on. her speech about her past life in the bar also shows that nobody watched pomni's video about the abandoned places, and she was doing that for herself. that’s why she felt uncomfortable with ragatha, who infantilizes her like a child and doesn’t take her seriously, overly nurturing her without reason, which again frustrates and pushes pomni away. jax treats pomni as an equal, which attracted her to him, and that's why she became friends with him. noticing pomni's trigger regarding infantilization, jax later used it during their argument to push pomni away. remember the early episodes when jax was constantly looking for pomni’s weaknesses? he would scare her, try to find out what her cartoon body was capable of, and even directly stated in episode 6 that he was testing how far he could go. he discovered her weak spot and trigger: she doesn’t like being taken lightly, and he used that against her. jax asked ragatha in episode 5, "it's better to make her happy all the time, right?" hinting at ragatha's attitude toward pomni. his comments in that same episode when he said to pomni, "it seems like ragatha is using you," also indicate that jax noticed pomni's rejection of ragatha because of this. this is further supported by the fact that pomni couldn’t clearly answer jax's question about whether ragatha annoys her at times. she simply replied, "well, she's nice to everyone," but that wasn't a direct opinion about ragatha as a person; pomni merely stated a general fact. it’s also important to note that pomni has a very chaotic attachment style towards the members (talking about gummigoo and jax). pomni wanted to be friends with gummigoo and hang out in the circus, but kane killed her new friend in front of her without warning, which, of course, affected her in a very negative way. things didn't go well with jax either. everything seemed to be fine, and they were friends, but then jax stated that it meant nothing to him. even though pomni didn't believe a single word of it, thanks to her emotional maturity and resourcefulness, this situation nonetheless left a significant emotional impact on her because feelings cannot be controlled
she is a wonderful, loyal, kind, and sincere person, but she also has flaws, and there's nothing surprising or shameful about that
