Halloween's over but I forgot to post my Toontown spread so here

When I was like, 10 or so, I looked up “Snake Cat” and decided to redraw (cough, mostly plagiarize) this old art of yours. My mom proceeded to get it tattooed (100% accurately to the drawing that I did) without asking me prior if I wanted her to do so. The tattoo itself is probably about 7 years old now.

This is both really funny to me, because mine looks high as hell and, well. Bad. But this also upsets me, because my “move the legs around so it doesn’t look like you copied my homework” edition of your art is on my mother’s body forever.

This is such a weird case of plagiarism in tattoos to me. Like, instead of “Oh, this person tattooed my original art without asking/paying me first” it’s instead “Some 10 year old redrew my art, and then someone got THAT version tattooed without asking.” There’s no ill intent with what ended up happening here, my mom just wanted something I drew on her body, which is honestly very endearing. I just really wish it was like, anything else.

I hope you find this funny, your recent art is great and I thank you for inspiring me on my own journey with it, even if it’s now on my mother.
