Review posts about a musical bootleg (or pro-shot) I've watched each week [will posted on every (I'll try my best on this!) mostly on Friday but sometimes Saturday, or later ]
Review posts about an official cast recording (OC), studio cast recording (SC), or official Broadway cast recording (OBC) once a month [will posted the third or fourth Thursday of the month]
post about an occasional musical movie adaptation if they tie in with the bootleg/pro-shot review [would replace the bootleg or pro-shot review Friday of the source]
The occasional play review [will be posted irregularly]
Any reblogged posts relating to any of the above
Guidelines
Most of this material will be new to me, though I may occasionally do a review for a bootleg, proshot, movie, etc. that i have seen before.
For movies, i will only review the musical movie version. For example, I would not review the 2004 Means Girls, but I would review the 2024 version of Mean Girls
I might at times pit two versions (or more) of the same show against each other. For example, the American Repertory Theater workshop of Finding Neverland vs. the Broadway version.
I will not be reviewing audio bootlegs, though I may occasionally make reference to them if I've listened to one

This was my genuine reaction to finding a recording of this (because I was talking about wishing I could see it last week & it literally just showed up on my recommended)
It’s a rainy Sunday, and Spotify dropped this on me (right after I finished Eleri Ward’s beautiful Sondheim album). I love Ben forever and always, but if you’re an adult of a certain age who‘s not been the luckiest in love, this song will squeeze your heart in the best (& most bittersweet) of ways regardless of who’s singing. We’re all worth more than pieces.

charlie appearing behind grey during that's what i'm good at... charlie as what grey is hiding... charlie as what grey is trying to forget... grey facing cindy and mike... charlie not gone, but behind him, still in the back of his mind... oh i'm being so normal about this
what a wild coincidence that a song from in pieces played while I was listening to music on tidal yesterday, and today a theatre youtuber I follow uploaded an interview with the creator???

Look, I’m not entirely Proud of my wrapped this year, but I will Never In My Life be ashamed (as my brothers think I should be) of the fact that Joey Contreras was my top artist five consecutive months. They can judge me once they’ve listened to In Pieces; once they’ve Cried about it and to it; once they’ve listened to all the lyrical and musical motifs that show up throughout each relationship’s songs; once they’ve spent hours deciphering where each song goes and what the timeline of the plot is when all they have is the highlights, some random assorted other songs and the website. They can call me a theatre kid all they want (I’m not), but I know what they’ve been listening to.
