BEHOLD THE WORLD’S WORST ACCIDENT - a faith lehane tribute

          “Faith, please---”

She didn’t dare touch the other woman---not only because she thought it likely that her wrist would get broken, but because the contact itself just might hurt Allison. Even at a distance of five feet from Faith, she was already hurting a lot. It felt like a marble hand was clutching around her heart, straining against the stone fingers with every pump it gave. Was this what held Faith’s heart? Certainly the hard rock gave it protection, but it caged the heart as well. A cage so small that it hurt to even feel.

          “Just... hear me out one last time. And if you still want me to go after this, then I’ll go. I promise. Just...”

What was she doing? Was she really so conceited that she thinks she can break down this young woman’s walls with a few well-meaning words? A cage that had been reinforced by over twenty years of continuous neglect and mistreatment? Allison was in way over her head with this one, she knew it. And yet, as always, she just couldn’t leave well enough alone. Be it a good or bad quality.

strong lead female character who shows a wide range of thoughts and emotions which is not framed in a negative way

said strong female character is NEVER, EVER sexually objectified unlike ghost whis/perer

it depicts one of the most realistic portrayals of a healthy marriage that I, personally, have ever seen, the ups and down, the fights and truces, the sickness and health (for those of you who are tired of always seeing toxic relationships on TV)

it also depicts one of the most ACCURATE portrayals of a nuclear family unit, plenty of ups and downs there. all of Allison’s three daughters get plenty of development and stories of their own, and so does Joe---the evolution of his career is quite an important plot throughout the series (it’s a lot more interesting than it sounds lol)

yeah it’s another procedural crime show, but this one is actually quite unique? the cases are often very unorthodox and unconventional compared to the ones seen in CSI and whatnot. the show is about a psychic medium, so it’s not afraid to dip into the supernatural a little (but only a little, for those of you who aren’t into that) ***warning: it can get pretty damn bloody and gorey, not hannibal-level, but a little moreso than most cable crime shows

all the regular characters are well-rounded and receive ample development 

BRIDGETTE DUBOIS - she’s the sassy, funny, quirky middle child, you will fall in love with her, and the rest of the family

it’s a wonderfully versatile show. it’s disturbing, it’s thrilling, it’s resonating, it’s heartwarming, it’s funny, it’s heart-wrenching, all these things and more

She has....

chastised and taken out an alarm system bc she believed it was talking to and manipulating her daughter (it’s a weird show ok)

sent her daughters away from her a few times throughout the series when she was in danger in order to protect them

up and abandoned working on the current case bc her daughter was missing from a class trip for like a half hour and drove straight over

literally ATTACKED a man because she was convinced that he was about to kill her daughter (and was arrested for it)
