I love the dynamic between siblings. Or generally, the way one slightly bigger human is able to use that advantage for whatever their liking (innocent or less innocent as we all know), and can within one or two moves establish the power holder between a pair, a group, an ensemble.

In the moment and motion of this image, you can clearly see the big sister, still grinning, using her power to keep all the play jewelry from the little one. This sort of jolly interaction is a perfect representation of the big sibling to little sibling dynamic which somehow manages to stay in place throughout decades of growth and maturity. Once that place of power is established, we are all slightly remiss to remove it. Regardless of shape or size, there remains a clear recognition among sibs of which is the "oldest," therefore somehow the "biggest," and most other generalizations of that person fall into place with just one swipe of the play jewelry at the burgeoning age of four and half years old.

ROBOTS OR DINOSAURS?

It's uncommon that I shoot on digital at all these days, however, I whipped out the old Mark II to snap some shots for up & coming R&B artist, Leaf's record preview recently at Be Electric in Bushwick. I set up a mini photo booth and grabbed a collection of snaps that are most fun and effortlessly cool. These guys were rad as anything. Sweet, gorgeous and talented. I was pleased to be apart of it. Also, Leaf's tunes are to die for. I present to you just one of many images to come.
