“ why not just do it then ?? “ she leaned back on her chair, a casual arm draped over it, “ you’re a COP. you can easily cover that shit up, ya know… that’s what most of them do. “ and, get away with it. sind’s voice was barely above a whisper, her eyes focused anywhere but the detective. 

“plenty of cops have done it before,” he shrugs. not something he’d condone, of course, but still those didn’t seem mutually exclusive. “i guess the pen will take it for now, then?”

Sid, expectedly, adored pride. She walked around the park, partially looking for Huihana and looking for a face painting booth. A large smile spread across her face, she said, “Ya think getting a giant rainbow painted on my check is too much?”

even sober, nikki wasn’t known for making the greatest of decisions. she broke the rules. she talked shit. she got hit. she hit back. hell - she might just have gone as far as saying that she was WORSE when she was sober. at least the worst she’d gotten into, drunk, was spray painting. 

the kids that had gotten to leave before her weren’t her friends. she was allowed to be angry at them. what she wasn’t allowed to be was angry at the ( familiar ) cop that had to deal with all their drunk asses, no matter how bothered she was at being the last to be dealt with. the kid she threw her way didn’t even bother her as much as the simple, inescapable fact that she was a COP. it wasn’t maggie’s fault that the ones that had come before her had embittered her towards them all, so. if she could have reacted any better to her, then she would have. “actually, right ‘bout now i’m thinking that i’m clearly not good enough, cause i did.” she wasn’t going to ask to leave. she figured that she’d be told when she could, so instead, nikki just fell down on the curb before her, heavily, pulling her legs up close and wrapping her arms ‘round them, dropping her forehead against her knees so that her voice was muffled, when she spoke again - “if you could just write up the warning or..- or the fine, or whatever, that’d be great.”

trust the kid to try and act tough now — accepting her punishment as fate without even trying to fight it. there was something broken about her, maggie realized, something in her that just didn’t want to couldn’t put up a fight any more. she was tired.

        “ how dare you ?? ” she gasped, a hand placed on her heart as she took a deep breath in. “ me? not being committed to a food related bet? unrealistic. —– i have eaten nothing but oreos for two days, sawyer and you’re gonna have to pay up soon ! ” kara said, with a smug look now plastered on her face. “ i also get so say i told you so. ”

it was such a welcome relief, being able to joke with the younger danvers sister again. the breakup with alex — she’d lost more than just her fiancee. she lost a family, or at least she thought she had. “just two days, kid. the bet’s for four.”

It has been three weeks since Hal has left on an important mission. He doesn’t exactly like leaving his friends and family, but he took his job as a Green Lantern seriously. He sips on the Starbucks drink in his hand while approaching someone from behind. “What are we doin’?”

        kara couldn’t have been more grateful for the bond she held with her sister &&. it certainly was no secret to the world that those came as a package deal. the cliched ‘ you mess with one of us ;  you mess with all both of us ’ applied perfectly. maybe that’s why kara always had doubts about maggie.. or anyone else that came into her life, although after, they fell into a pretty good pattern of getting to know each other that maggie too started feeling like family. 

           letting out a knowing sigh, the blonde shook her head, “ yeah, i know exactly what you mean —- it’s her way of coping, i guess &&. the fact that she is too proud to let anyone know that something is wrong. but the honest truth ?? if you still don’t want kids and she still very much does, it’s time that the both of you accept the fact that you’re not going to find what you’re looking for in each other. ”

god. the kryptonian was right. alex was just too damn proud to let maggie in, to have an honest conversation with her after the whole mess she’d made of leaving, it was true. and maggie couldn’t help but love her more for it. kara might’ve been the girl of steel, but if maggie had to pick a danvers sister to go head to head with, she’d take her over alex’s unshakeable stubbornness any day. 

This could either go wonderfully well or quite badly, and truth be told Aki is more prepared for the latter. The truth is he expects everyone here to be far too good and boring to do something as daring as sneaking out, so he’s more than prepared to do so himself.

So when she seems keen with going along with his mischief, Aki can’t help but grin. “I suppose it depends on your limits. I’ve heard there are some interesting things in town.”

she puts her hand to her chin, a contemplative expression on her face. of course, she can’t actually endorse sneak out, but the charade will go on as long as she can make it. it’s a good opportunity to gather intel and tighten up campus security, anyway. “interesting things, huh? i’m intrigued.”

     there certainly is a pang of pity in her heart when it came to maggie’s admission,       but she’s spent so much time reminding herself that the relationship ending was      no longer her fault that it lingering  on those feelings any longer would betray all      that she and kara had worked on. 

            “i’m sorry about that, but hey– -”

     she manages a half laugh. 

            “– you always had better luck with the ladies.”

there is a twinge of pain shooting through her heart when she sees the look in alex’s eyes — is that pity? but there isn’t enough kindling for the anger to spark. not tonight. she’s too tired for that. 

she knows this routine by heart, now. late night calls from concerned citizens of paragon talking about drunk shenanigans and overzealous teens. maggie slides the gun into the holster ( though she never needs it ), and hops on her bike to take care of the situation.
