Just wanted to give a little bit of a shout-out to my friend’s rescue organization, the Purrs and Paws Project. As many of you know from following the blog, I live in an area of North Carolina (USA) where the pet overpopulation crisis is completely out of control, and healthy, adoptable animals are regularly put down for space at our county shelter. The pre-existing rescues around here are equally overwhelmed, and do all they can for the animals, but there are many that still get turned away. Liza does everything in her power to take animals who need help, and has racked up several thousand dollars in vet bills this week alone taking on cats with severe medical needs. She made it possible for Cherry to get spayed when I had no transportation, which was a huge gift and amazing help. She’s even taken on Chicken the Quaker parrot, who had nowhere else to go, and is learning everything she can rapidly despite never having a bird before. I know everyone’s wallet is tight these days, but if anyone does have anything to spare in the way of a donation, it goes a long way. They are currently in desperate need of large crates, litterboxes, and other supplies, along with donations towards the animals’ medical care. Or, if you’re in the area, adopters and fosters are always needed!

Chewy wishlist
Just wanted to add they also have an Amazon wishlist I forgot to add earlier! They are still in urgent need of crates (especially large crates), hammocks and hides for kitties who have just come in, disposable litter trays, and general supplies (gloves/food/toys). Any contribution is appreciated!
