istg it would be so funny if this ends up being the title of the song that breaks me out of my composer's block.
(Please please please please I just want to finish a song without abandoning it halfway again)
an improv show that begins with asking the audience for one word prompts but as it progresses it becomes increasingly clear that they’re just testing the audience members on which parts of speech they know
okay so for this first one I’m going to need someone to give me a noun! okay now how about an adjective? very good, okay now can someone give me an adverb? nice, now how about a preposition? can someone give me a conjunction? can anyone tell me a ditransitive verb? does anyone know any demonstrative pronouns? okay now how about an uncountable proper noun? great these are some great prompts now how about a past participle strong verb? nice, now let’s have a
I genuinely wish Mad-Libs did this there's been so many times that I've had a banger noun ready to go but when I get to the actual story, it turns out the noun was supposed to be collective or uncountable instead of singular so the joke just falls flat
there r so many emojis i always stumble across something like 🗜 and i think who the HELL would ever use this emoji. and then i think abt some guy who probably works w those things all the time n hes so happy he can use this emoji. and im happy for him
My dad has started using them regularly in conversations to make the underrepresented emojis feel included, which is very cute in theory, but it means I get texts like:
Anyways this is the only correct way to use emojis have a very 🪔 day
reminds me of this interaction I had with my parents
they were in the same room and apparently when they got my explanation text my dad threw his phone down and said “how the FUCK does she expect me to know that”

some of my greatest ideas come to me right as I've shut the computer off, put the phone down, and gotten into bed
not many people know this but when talking about your multiple pronoun-using friend you build up a combo meter for every subsequent unique pronoun you use
personalized ads are so funny to me
'hey we've been spying on you and tracking your every move. it's a culmination of state of the art technology and an unprecedented invasion of consumer privacy. a room full of men with made up jobs bent their will toward decades of constructing this system, defending it in court, and tirelessly innovating new ways to aggregate more data about you'
and the end result is
'yeah so uh we saw that you recently bought a car. so here's an ad for that car'
like no i'm good actually. you might be aware that i already have one
"I want to trust you, but I can't": A tragic, yet very common vehicle for a third-act rift between characters. If the reader doesn't know the untrustworthy character's motives, they might see them as less sympathetic and easier to rationalize as an antagonist
"I want to trust you, so I will, despite it all": HOOOLY MOLY this is a gut-wrenchingly bittersweet phrase! When used well, it allows the reader to sympathize with both parties involved. Helps dispel both the frustration of a character having naïve, blind faith in someone undeserving of it, and the dissatisfaction of a character leaving someone behind when they begin showing hints of dishonesty.
The reason they're not adding new states to the US anymore is that they'd have to rename one of the streets in Washington D.C. and they're running out of avenues. Ohio Drive was already a bit of a stretch we can't fit any more unless we drain the Potomac River and build more city there.

whatever flopes your bope
I've picked up the phrase "That's a big word for Elmo" from one of the streamers I watch, but because I just happen to already know a lot of long English words, I almost never get to use it normally. So now it's my go-to phrase whenever I'm having trouble transposing a particularly complex Kanji in Japanese because I don't know any of the readings so I have to construct the Han character itself radical-by-radical.
i think we need copyright reform. currently most works are protected by copyright for the life of the author plus 70 years. here are my two proposals.
18 years. this is enough time for the work to grow to adulthood and begin to care for itself
life of the author + zero years. i like this one because it encourages you to kill people
Citations could be so awesome without copyright. Imagine just being able to click on a footnote and it takes you to the exact section of another book being quoted. Imagine how much that would do for stemming misinformation.
Get yourself a friend who will put in the effort to format your subtitles so that they match the bicolor design elements of your OC

essential question. how do u feel about new rin penrose orisong
There could not have been a better way to capture Rin's new "Idol Newscaster from Space" form.
Miscellaneous thoughts:
Rin is such a great lyricist, and there's a lot of substance to the lyrics of "Cold Open" as they relate to stuff like her separation from Brave Group and the decision to get a redesign.
Rin has mentioned before that it's hard to find songs to cover that fit her vocal range. But when she finds (or in this case, makes) a song that fits her range perfectly, she has a really cool singing style
"Dah dah dah dah dah da-da-da-daaaah~"
I always appreciate when vtubers let the people working on the instrumental put a little EDM breakdown in there, but holy shit, it blew my mind when someone in the Rin Chillzone Discord showed me that over top of the drumstep bit, Rin's actually singing the Westminster Quarters, AKA the song that plays from pretty much every clock tower when the hour strikes.
"Do you believe in someone like- DO YOU BELIEVE IN SOMETHING LIKE ME"
The use of the UK test signal in the instrumental inspired me to put a bunch of telephone dial tones in a song I'm working on
