Picking up this spinning project again. It kinda got put to the side due to gift knitting (Christmas). Then the table I need for drumcarding's been full of another project (basket weaving). Not important... Anyway! Glad to get going on this again ^^
Horrendous thought, posting my actual physical form (cringe! You're embodied? In the year of our lord 2026?) But I just finished my first ever sweater and second ever knitting project! The ends need to be woven in and it needs to be blocked, but overall I'm really happy with it! Step by Step Sweater pattern by Florence.

First bobbin of these batts done. Onto the next.
Bobbin number 2. 20 grams really spins up satisfyingly fast. Makes me wanna keep going. Small steps to get the endorphin kicks of a finished project.
Now to rewind these two onto storage bobbins and letting them rest before plying.
3rd bump of the green spin I'm working on. The middle pictures is the original batt, each side of it so to speak. Top picture is a note to myself. That I split it not along the fibres, but across them. Cuz I've almost never done that before, so if this spin takes a while I'll remember my plans for how to spin it. Took that half and made a big ass fauxlag with it. Now I'm spinning that fauxlag from end to end.
Thank gods for photo memos pfft.
Plied. Waiting for a bath.
I spent the past week feverishly working on this and there she is now in her place of honour
Some process pics under the cut
Shop update!
The top one is Merino in Rosy Maple, the middle is Shetland in Petrichor, and the bottom is also Shetland in Spring Blooms
I’m very excited that my Petrichor dye mix translated on fibre so well! It’s beautiful dark and moody with some lovely subtle variation.
And of course Spring Blooms is a staple for me at this time of year, one of my favourite returning colourways!
Find them all in the shop!

crochet colorwork ive done lately
knitted textures from 'the encyclopedia of knitting,' lesley stanfield and melody griffith, pub. 2000.
After 9 months of work, my Oseberg tapestry sweater is complete!
This was my first sweater knitted in the round, first stranded colourwork project, and my first time steeking. It was definitely my most challenging project so far, and a lot of learning and research was involved. I used a colourwork chart created by the very talented Molly Gifford, which is available for free on Ravelry
For reference, this is one of the fragments uncovered from the gravesite:
Some scholars think that the Oseberg tapestry includes the earliest known artistic depiction of Odin's ravens, Huginn and Muninn. So I added them to the sleeves as a little Easter egg.
Kitty approved!
My sister jokingly asked what the creator of the tapestry would think if they knew that 1200 years later, a cat would be using their design as a bed. But considering that cats seem to have been widely kept and often much loved in Norse culture... I can imagine such a scene might not have been too strange to a Viking-age fiber artist.
Ouugghh yeah.... Kitten Catch Mittens!!

Finished Fancy Jacques sweater! Pattern by Johanna Gehrisch. Yarn is Hobbii Garland
I decided on a XO cable pattern for the hem instead of ribbing, in plain red for the back, in intarsia for the front, both with i-cord edges.
I did modify the pattern slightly, I wanted it less oversized so I did fewer stripes for the shoulders/yoke. Really wish the pattern had included a schematic with dimensions before seaming, otherwise really happy with the design and how mine turned out!
Featuring my knitted and felted blue green slippers! Another recent FO I'm really pleased with.
finished one sleeve and the collar has been redone!! it's now double folded and with 16 less stitches
