I was already shaky on my counting skills why did I think that a double knitted colorwork pattern would be a good idea 😭😭😭😭😭😭
Just in time for Moon Day Monday, I finished my quilt!
I learned many things on this one, including:
- nesting your seams is a thing and it really helps with nice aligned corners, who knew??
- inset circles. Now I fear nothing, including God
- how to use the long arm with a pantograph
- the easy way to change thread on the long arm because the inner blocks were too light for the medium grey thread I was using
- how to stress out my grandfather stopping at various points on the pantograph because I wanted to do something different in the moons and finally
- fun things about free motion quilting, so I could put the correct textures of our beautiful lady into the different phases on the blocks.
The pattern is a mish mash of the Moon Portal quilt pattern by The Water Spirit and the Plaid-ish 2 from Erica Jackman of Kitchen Table quilting, plus some cathedral window blocks for the stars in various sizes.
I wanna sew but I have no sewing stuff…….
SIX, that's right, SIX small quilts i made in May this year. they're varying sizes, but all around 10" across (except the last one, the granny square; that's about 14"). these are all made using fabric i naturally dyed in my kitchen using things like osage, madder, cutch, wattle, black walnut, knotweed, goldenrod... some modified with iron or soda ash. playing with color and making sure scraps don't go to waste!

Ive made it 70 rows into this lace shawl pattern that ive been working on (no life line, of course) and suddenly my repeats aren't lining up properly 😬
The holiday quilt is done. Small lap quilt made of reclaimed materials. Fully handsewn and hand quilted. Closeups below for the quilting stitches.
the end result of that quilt from earlier. I did not do the long arm pattern but everything else was me.
^ embroidered a net onto the front pocket of these overalls
^ shrimp in there
... I think I might have been insane for this 😳
Same pattern, different modifications. The parts that made me question my sanity the most: on the left, the double 500+ stitch Latvian Braids, and the fact that I had to remake it three times because the colors kept bleeding even after pre-washing the yarns; on the right, FOUR i-cord loop braid sections, and several false starts before I finally got the colors right 🫠
BTW if the one on the right makes you go "haha cool that middle bit kinda looks like a Stargate" that was ON PURPOSE. These are both Fanart for my Teen Wolf/Stargate crossover series ❤️

Meet my first oddbody furby
He isn't finished, I have a few more mods in mind, but I had to share him. I can't stop laughing at him, he is pure joy and unhinged whimsy. I'm thinking of naming him Vertigo, but name suggestions are so welcome!
I feel like the essa community may hate this xD
Grubby babies will be available in the shop on the 31st 💚
✨A woven yarn tapestry of the Shire✨
[image description: the tapestry appears to be slightly larger than an A5 piece of paper. It shows three hobbit houses, positioned like rolling hills. The sky is blue and has white clouds stitched onto it. The weaving has smooth, flowing lines, with knots detailing trees and flowers and stitches for other details. End ID]

I made some quilted placemats!! They are reversible and hopefully you can see the quilting i did on the close up of the green
It was a very basic one day project that I tried to fuck up by very diligently stitching together the batting in the middle instead of on the outside (which ends up with the batting on the outside with you flip it) but it was all fine once I ripped it and just started over
It is a little annoying to have one green one out on the pink side but it was the luck of the draw when I decided to start a project that was solely raiding my grandma's stash
