Love how the warm and bright colors of Boromis's costume are closer not to his country's fashion but to Rohan palette. Just like Éomer have said, he's more like to the swift sons of Eorl than to the grave Men of Gondor (The Two Towers, Book 3, Chapter 2 The riders of Rohan).

Also his shield. The same thing: round shape is usual in Rohan (pictures from Heirs of Middle-earth).

Although I don't like what the movies did to their family dynamic, this thing is very true to the books. Boromir is not like Denethor. Faramir has more in common with their father.
