Dungeon Crawler Carl really came out here and said the human race can out-stubborn fucking anything, asks what survival is and what you're willing to do for it, and how you carry the weight. that capitalism is violence, and that it breeds violence. that we need to hold each close and do what we can to help when we can, because what else is there?

This is absolutely at its funniest in the Butcher’s Masquerade. His female companion who he’s been training for the last 2 books leaves the party then partway through says that she needs to talk to him about something important in person before the end of the floor but then she shows back up with a new boyfriend and Carl is just like “she was a sister to me lol” and it turns out that she just wanted to talk about their respective drug addictions or something (I might not have read to the part where what that discussion actually was was revealed, but the drug thing is funnier). Then a naked elf chick gives him the fuck me eyes and he just ignores her. And his ex girlfriend comes back from the dead in a prom dress and his cat berates the shit out of her.
