well this is a Bad Idea™

This is my submission for this year's @hxhbigbang26 ! it's a Killugon college AU where Gon recruits Killua to help Gon fit in the city. Shenanigans ensue as they complete Gon's bucket list.

Chapter One

Gon sat at the dining table at his aunt’s house, a warm breeze coming from the windows making the curtains dance effortlessly, the smell of sea salt wafting into his nose. But none of that mattered right now, as he was laser focused on writing a list. 

He scribbled item after item furiously, eyebrows furrowed in concentration. After being homeschooled all his life, Gon had been accepted to college in Yorknew City. Not one of the prestigious ones like YNU or King’s College, but a college nonetheless. It’d be his first time leaving Whale Island. He was still unsure what he wanted to do, but he did know he’d like to get to know the outside world. He’d heard so much from the fishermen that stopped by the island, yet everything seemed so far away until now. 

Aunt Mito was against the idea at first. She wanted him to inherit the bar; reminding him reminding him that that they didn’t have enough money to fund schooling, but Gon managed to convince her after relentless begging (and also using his savings he’d gathered up by doing odd jobs here and there to pay for the tuition). He’d been wanting to leave the island, to experience the world outside what he’s known. He’d heard countless stories from fishermen passing by, visiting his aunt’s bar. Some made it seem like a whole other universe, while others who drank their problems away only cursed at it. 

But Gon wanted to see it for himself. He wrote a list of goals he wanted to achieve while he attended school. Some were more far-fetched than others, but he knew he could do it. He’d always been a go-getter, and he’d never set a goal he knew he couldn’t reach.

"If all world's a stage he is actor, director, audience and believer. Judas who cloaks in his own skin, that he can hardly be accused of forging. How? He wears it so well."
