so you know how shadow’s very “i have no friends >:(( i don’t want friends”

well blaze in sonic rush was very much like that, too. she was resistant to the idea of someone being her friend because of her responsibilities and her inability to really know how it felt to connect with someone. she still is pretty timid and maybe would want some time to herself, but she loves and appreciates the time she has with her friends.

so. i feel like blaze would be someone who can relate and understand shadow (sonic too because of similar reasons but i’ve already talked about this) but i feel, since their personalities are also so similar that shadow could possibly feel comfortable around her, too. and maybe bring the best in him. IDK THOUGH

disclaimer, as someone on the aplatonic spectrum, i don’t think not wanting to have friends is inherently bad. but in the case of shadow, i feel like he restricts himself to a standard. in tmosth, shadow is shown to really care about and even get along with people, but struggles with self image. i feel like that can connect with him in canon as a whole.. like he purposely shuts himself out and lashes out as a response to the trauma he’s experienced.
