Comet's Log: Chao Garden

"I found what I think are like those dirt gardens that I’ve seen some Surfacers have back home. This one seems fancier though. There’s a rock formation with water just pouring out by itself, no pipes or anything; as well as some pretty plants. But, what’s really interesting are these tiny creatures that are living here. They have big heads and weird eyes that are kinda ugly (in a cute way)! They seem friendly enough too. Like, a few of them had sharp teeth, but nobody bit me or anything. Didn’t even really pay me any mind at all. My stomach rumbled real loud (I forgot I hadn’t eaten since before I got here!) all of a sudden. Then one of the little guys, a blue and yellow one, walked over with this weird fruit(?) in its teeny-tiny arms. It was trying to give it to me! How sweet! Unfortunately, I didn’t want to eat it because it might be poisonous.  I tried to communicate that I didn’t want it, but the little guy insisted. A few more of them noticed and came over to see what was going on. I panicked, so…I just flew away and didn’t look back. I still feel kind of bad about it."

you know where the bell rings from, and it sounds like it's for a funeral

your best friend's name isn't significant, but he loves this land. more than you ever could, despite love for it being your birthright. your best friend is not as selfish as you, is kinder than you - you try to lead in his example, make him proud. he is doing his part, for you, and you must do yours, even if it is only for him

the funeral bell rings from the tower your best friend is confined to. you can't tell if its for his death, or your own. you have a hunch

it all keeps clamouring. the death piling high, the distrust and the despair. this isn't the world you grew up in, but maybe its the world your parents knew, and couldn't change. you don't know if you can change this - all the power in your hand, yet the light of that power sears, the light of that power is burning your best friend. you're sick of it

You're Hilda the First, and your options are few. no other place to put the ringing, no other way to satiate it, or the crowd clawing and screaming for more. surely, the power is not worth all of this death? surely, as your friend bends under it, broken and selfless and so so loving, not one person is fit to hold such a thing. it sounds like a funeral bell. it rings like a warning

I decided to go for Ravio being turned into a child during oot. And he's an adult in mm.

I kinda decided on some counterparts for Romani and Cremia. I named them Lona (adult) and Loom (child) (cuz y'know weaving thread and the Malon counterpart being a silkwoman heheh)

I was also thinking about Ravio's willingness to take on the task of the hero for these adventures. He was very secluded so despite being okay to stay like that, he is curious about the outside world just a bit. This curiosity is something he regrets wholeheartedly as he just repeats in his head (I should've just stayed at home).

But besides that he actually really doesn't care about any of what he is doing. Like oot Link, he's forced into the adventure but he doesn't form any connection with anyone but Hilda.

He doesn't even "save" lorule, he figures out a way to postpone Yuga's plan for it to happen later, and it's literally just because he doesn't want to deal with any of this anymore. He saw enough being forced to relive being a child, and frankly just wants to go home and keep doing his occult studies and experiments.

He knowingly decided to postpone this disaster because as he's learned through the adventure, there really is no saving Lorule in his eyes (his occult family didn't teach him the story of the triforce at all) He has long accepted that everyone will die eventually (a practice his family taught him so he wouldn't be afraid of death - even tho he does want to stay alive as long as possible to see new things but if he gotta die then so be it).

And because he isn't afraid of dying, that's more of a reason why mm would mess with his head a lot as it would force him to continue living again and again through each cycle until he decides that he HAS to care for some people or he'll never feel fulfilled in his life. He can't only care about his (somewhat undead???)family and his home and his practices and the dead, he has to learn some empathy for others.

And finally I was thinking about the Hero's Shade and a counterpart for this fate but for Ravio, and unfortunately my first thought would be with Ravio deciding he was done. In other words he decides to take his own life after he sees all he wants to see. He does accept he has to care for others but the overwhelming conflict he developed within his head with him messing around with time and living as a child again, does confuse him so badly and he just decides to just go and rest.

He never returns to Lorule and just stays within the forest leading away from Termina. His spirit would stay in Lorule because despite deciding he wants to do nothing with this world anymore, he still wants to see what happens, until the end (he's lying to himself so hard his spirit stayed attached to lorule lmao loser)
