Once a month I publish a Music Review Poll, which either compares 5 versions of the same song, or 5 songs by the same artist.

Released on Aerosmith's debut album in 1973, Dream On was the band's breakout hit, and is a staple on classic rock stations to this day. A power ballad with a contemplative feel, the song placed at number 173 on Rolling Stone's 2004 list of the 500 Greatest Songs Of All Time. The song had been percolating in Stephen Tyler's brain ever since childhood, and he composed the lyrics when he was merely fourteen. The climbing notes that lead to the climax were written to showcase Tyler's trademark screams.
