what is a composite chart?

ok so if you’ve never looked at a composite chart before, basically it’s the chart of the relationship itself. you take both people’s birth charts and combine them to create a completely new chart, so instead of asking “what does he feel about me?” or “why am i attracted to her?” like you would with synastry, the composite asks:

“what do we actually become when we are together?”

it can show the personality of the relationship, what the connection feels like behind closed doors, what you naturally bring out in each other and even how other people perceive you as a couple.

i personally think composite charts are SO interesting because sometimes the relationship itself has a completely different personality from either person individually . you can have two quiet people with a composite that is loud and dramatic, or two people who seem completely chill separately but somehow create the most intense relationship when they’re together.

also disclaimer: one placement never tells the whole story. i’d always look at the whole composite, especially the sun, moon, venus, mars, saturn, the angles and the strongest aspects. these are just patterns i’ve noticed from reading charts, so take what resonates 🤍

the relationship itself has a VERY obvious presence. people notice you two together even if you’re not trying to get attention. there’s something about the way you interact that makes people immediately register that there is a connection here. you may also feel more confident, expressive or like a stronger version of yourselves when you’re together. the relationship almost develops its own personality that people can pick up on.

i’ve noticed this can be the couple where everyone knows you’re together before you even announce it. you walk into a room together and somehow people just know.

BUT the 10th house is also where reputation lives, so people can have opinions about you two that they probably shouldn’t 😭. sometimes everyone thinks they know what’s happening in your relationship because they only see the public version.

you can have a couple who look perfect publicly but are going through absolute chaos privately.

you can have two people who look completely chaotic to everyone else but feel incredibly safe together behind closed doors.

The frequent dynamic Sun man x Saturn woman you find in the media is really just the back-and-forth with each other Claire Nakti talked about, their witty chemistry keeping you on your toes because you don't know if they hate each other or are falling in love.

Their energies are far too similar, they literally make the most refined power couples ever. Though, they could be great enemies. They'd be a perfect fit as an espionage hate-to-love couple. One minute they can't stand each other despite their great respect for one another, then the next they're too powerful when they combine their twisted minds.

Despite Saturnian women believing in devotion, they're really not the most romantic. This is how the Sun men, who does not believe in commitment but is a romantic at heart because Sun wants freedom, may get attracted to her cool, steadfast nature. He values those qualities in her because he is not like that.

They see each other as equals, the only prominent difference between them being their irresistible hot (Sun) yang energy and cold (Saturn) ying energy that keeps them going back-and-forth with each other. It is so beautiful to watch their chemistry onscreen.

The Sun man being the cunning fox and the Saturn woman being his equal because of her solar qualities that may tip him off his throne (whether she seduces him or goes into a battle of wits with him is up to her) – he doesn't even have to be a Sun native, any male really. Saturn women measure a man's worth, she'll see him as disposable when he's not useful anymore (Saturn can be very opportunistic and cold).

Surprisingly, the Sun man 'can' exceed her expectations. I can't guarantee you that he will since Saturn women are really hard to woo in general.

I find that almost all the time in this Sun x Saturn duo, Saturn is always the more sarcastic/funny one (especially when she's a Pushya native) and Sun can find her amusing and smart.

Sun can start fumbling around her like an idiot which is out of character for his indifferent, smug nature. This is because he's surprised that she actually matches his level of wit and she might even keep him on his toes. He's basically found the female version of himself when he meets a Saturnian.

Vedic story about Sun (Surya) and Saturn (Shani)

The Sun God, Surya, was too bright and too glaring. Emanating light and heat to everyone around him that even his wife, Sanjna, couldn't stand it. Sanjna's complexion darkened and she grew sensitive to his light. She decided to leave him but she didn't wanted their children to be without a mother so she left a shadow clone of herself who she named Chhaya. Surya didn't notice that Chhaya was a mere husk of his wife. Chhaya had two children with him. Saturn, Shani, was one of them. Shani had a dark shadowy appearance like his mother Chhaya. He felt neglected by his father. He noticed that Surya didn't give proper attention to his entire family, actually, especially to his "wife" Chhaya.

One day, Chhaya eventually told him the truth. She told him that she is just a shadow of Sanjna, his wife, who left him years ago. Surya immediately left to go look for Sanjna, and Shani saw this as betrayal. Shani hated his father for this. Shani believed that Surya was not devoted and loyal to Chhaya. And this is why Saturn will always hate Sun.

Now, what we could take from this story:

Saturn (as Shani) is both Shadow & Light. In this context of my post, we see how Saturn women still have solar qualities despite their restrictions. Sun shines light so bright that there are no rules or limits at all, whereas Saturn is still all about order and restrictions. Saturn is son of Sun, so Saturn can hate Sun all he wants (he hates Sun because Sun does not apply any restrictions as he's too bright and too reckless and arrogant to) but Saturn can inherit these traits too.

This story explains why Saturn women expect commitment and loyalty from partners without question. She wants a partner who will stay devoted to her. She does not seek out partners who are self-absorbed. Though, Saturn is also about discipline and "taming" others to one's power. Saturn women can be attracted to hotheaded/egotistical men because she believes she can make him surrender to her cool, ying self. And it works. Sun men are whores, but somehow he finds himself wanting to commit to her.

Sun (as Surya) not even noticing that his wife is not his wife anymore is such a Sun man thing. They barely give too much attention to their family unlike Jupiter men or Saturn men. Sun men cannot commit or devote themselves to someone for too long because it'll feel like they're giving too much of their energy away. They're just never too close. This unstable behaviour can frustrate or torment the Saturn woman. This is why this pairing can give a lot of problems.

Saturn hates Sun.

Saturn and Sun are natural planet enemies. This is translated in the Saturn woman trying to scheme or go against a Sun man — as seen in Hercules and Mr & Mrs Smith.

Before she falls for him and he surrenders himself to her. It's really enjoying to watch them have a cat-and-mouse relationship, they'll still have the hots for each other.

Seriously though, Sun man and Saturn woman pairings are not just popular on the media. I've seen a lot of Sun/Saturn friendships. Sun boy crushing on a Saturn girl. I've seen them as romantic couples and even spouses. I can honestly say that they're one of the most common planet pairings ever.

Powerful pairings. The compatibility of Uttara Bhadrapada x Uttara Phalguni is the highest. Then it's Pushya x Uttara Ashada and Krittika x Anuradha. Obviously, you can cross ship them because they're all Earth and Water couples which makes the most balanced connection out of all the elements.

Then we have Hercules who is voiced by Tate Donovan (Uttara Phalguni Sun & Ascendant) with Megara who is voiced by Susan Egan (Pushya Moon) in Hercules. Brad Pitt (Uttara Ashada Moon) with Angelina Jolie (Pushya Ascendant) in Mr & Mrs Smith. George Clooney (Uttara Ashada Moon) with Julia Roberts (Pushya Ascendant) in Oceans Eleven and btw they're going to star in a romcom that's coming out next year so yay. And finally we have Song Yoong-ki (Uttara Phalguni Sun) with Song Hye-kyo (Anuradha Sun) in Descendants Of The Sun.

Two out of those onscreen pairings actually married in real life. But, I think Moon women are much more suited for Sun men. Moon women are much more receptive to Sun's heat and glaring light. Whereas Saturn women would want to "tame" him. Moon & Sun would be the perfect ying-yang to each other. Plus Saturn women have solar qualities and can be more yang with their natural vibrancy and strength, that's why they can succeed in male-dominating fields or are more career-orientated than other women despite their desire for relationships and family as well. Like I said in the Sun-Saturn story, this pairing can cause problems.

+ Sun males are not my type (I'm a Saturnian) but everytime I see them in movies, they're always my favourite actors. My father is an Uttara Phalguni Sun so I have a lot of respect for him – and it's funny how I think of Surya (Sun) when I think of my dad. He's rarely there for me but he is always shining positively and he has a lot of admirers. He likes to retell his success story to inspire others. He's a leader and a sufficient provider. He has a lot of Sun masculine traits. Aside from Ketu men, I find that Sun men are actually the most desirable for women... Out of the entire Scorpio segment, Anuradha natives are the most devoted and loyal people you can ever meet. The men especially are very dutiful and considerate in relationships as they are ruled by Mitra; the god of friendship, harmony, love & contracts. Because of Mitra and their Scorpionic energy, they tend to be more deeply attached to their lovers because they always love more, thus creating dynamics that are not mutual. Anuradha Moon men are passionate friends and lovers but they are easily intimidating due to their intensity and tendency to fixate on people (usually someone). They feel immensely just like Jyestha natives do, but they come off calm & careless and are less likely to have outbursts compared to Jyestha men.

I've noticed they have beautiful, asymmetrical physiques and look similar to Bharani/Aries men. (Think of the time Bharani Sun Noah Centineo was compared to a younger Mark Ruffalo who is an Anuradha Sun. Or seeing Bharani Sun Henry Cavill and Anuradha ASC Chris Evans as a crazy crossover whenever the two interact).

Anuradha men tend to get buzzcuts and look really good in them. I've also noticed how disruptive and rebellious they can be. They'll take interest in masculine or violent things like motorcycles and boxing. They can be into slasher films or collect gory stuff. They can love chasing adrenaline and start to be really troublesome if there's no outlet.

Sometimes they're unruly and can adopt a very rebellious/mischievous persona which they eventually ride out in their more serious adult years - similarly to Bharani/Ashwini men. This is obviously a Mars thing, then.

there is nothing wrong with knowing that a man is BENEATH you and moving as such. i think we as women don't want to be too "harsh" or "overly critical" over a man not doing his part when we know as sun nak women how RUTHLESS men can be towards women who they feel isn't playing their part. men regardless of the current state will energy siphon and use sun nak women even if the sun nak women does not see the royalty and greatness she has within her self because best believe these men can SEE it and will USE it for their benefit.

i understand sun nak women also can relate to a lot of masculine energies as a woman due to their ambition, drive, confidence, and leadership but at the end of the day sun nak women need to stand ten toes down in themselves as WOMEN than our proximity to men and realize the beauty, regalness, and authority we have in this realm. if mariah the scientist knew her worth as a WOMAN, understood that these men who energy siphon from her are beneath her, and was honest with herself that young thug was beneath her in every way without feeling bad for it, then she wouldn't be in the unfortunate predicament she is in.

sun nak women biggest threat is themselves and not recognizing their power as WOMEN rather than viewing power due to their proximity to men or within yang like qualities. sun nak women who place themselves in MEN's shoes will always lose because sun nak women are GREATER and can handle the sun energies a lot better, and although we can relate to a lot of men's energy we at the end of the day are WOMEN (hence why most women with sun prominence face people trying to humble them in every way possible, to remove their ability to see their worth rather than men with sun nak placements)

but i don’t find that its in a egocentric or cocky way, because i feel that society loves it when women are humble yet inferior instead of humble but confident, to which sun nak women face humbling tactics from others to make them feel bad for their natural value of refinement and higher quality services. that’s why sun nak women can be with loser men that’s beneath them and 9/10 A SUN NAK WOMAN KNOWS THEY ARE BENEATH THEM, but because their natural refinement has been shamed upon they will pick people beneath them to make others feel comfortable. sun nak women are “bougie” and there’s nothing wrong with that (yes don’t be an asshole) and shouldnt have to feel “uppity” because of something that’s innately natural to them (they either grow up in households where their parents valued higher quality things or refinement, or they grow up in households where it wasnt that way, but they’ve always aspired to have the refined goods and luxury as they’ve gotten older).

most people hold satun naks to such higher standards which is why i hear so many saturn nak (esp women) being told that they were stuck up and had the appearance of being "better than" another when they had to excel at anything to avoid harsh criticism.

this pressure can make them either cave in and become full pessimist or allow it to mold them into people who understand the harshness of life but aren't harsh enforcers. i think saturn nak women esp understand how harsh life can be at if they are at the highest vibration won't judge or harshly critize you the way they have been (because at their highest vibration they know not everyone can handle that pressure as they had to).

i ewould like to remind the solar woman and the solar-goddess earth ruled sign punarvasu to protect your energy as much as you can. and that to not ever let just anyone in your life.

i know you your hearts are big and giving and full of beauty and light. and that all you want is to give and give because youre endless. but look at how people are using the earth. how most don't even acknowledge the sun or even try to chemically cover it up.

i would advice you to stay completely in your orbit. even if it meant to go into hermit mode. complete isolation. I would like to invite you to step away from the drama and pour into your own cup. it's a wonderful tone now that jupiter and Venus are both in cancer. try as much as you can to love yourself and pour into yourself.

Also. please stay away from mercurials and especially ashlesha. every single time I see a solar girl get betrayed, or back stabbed or in any way hurt by a sunny girl. It feels horrible.

A fun short post that I want to highlight😉♥️

I feel like people talk about being an 8th houser as something that’s enigmatic, magnetic and polarizing that leaves people in ecstasy or blinded. Either brings out bad reactions, jealousy, and hidden enemies, or people are extremely obsessed with you and want your power and presence. As an 8th houser I think these descriptions are cool but they really don’t talk about the actual downsides to the 8th house that is 9/10 more common than people being jealous or wanting you to fail (or attracting obsessive people). The 8th house is a dusthana house due to 8th house representing struggle, obstacles, long term diseases, hidden challenges, and transformation.

I want to highlight the outside experiences that people as an 8th houser may experience. An 8th houser is someone that has either:

Sun/Moon/Mercury/Venus in the 8th

Lagna Lord in the 8th, or 8th house lord in the 1st house

Personal placements in Scorpio (isn’t necessarily an 8th houser but goes through similar things)

Rahu in the 8th (as Rahu represents obstacles you will go through to integrate both Ketu and Rahu into your life)

Placements that can go through this to a lesser extent:

AL (Arudha Lagna) in Scorpio or in the 8th (Example: Leo AL but it’s in the 8th)

Ketu conjunctions, esp with Ketu in the 1st, Sun, and Moon (Mars and Ketu are ruled by Scorpio, and Ketu represents detachment and material loss in order to gain spiritual power and enlightenment).

Although this post about 8th housers, there are other influences that can also relate to these experiences and I wanted to include the outside influences as well!

8th house is more than what emotions or feelings you arise out of people, or your personal power. It can create a mystical enigma out of those who have 8th house or prominent 8th house. However, the 8th house can be much more gritty and complex than the “mystery who everyone has their eyes on the minute they walk into an establishment”. Many 8th housers mention that the 8th house feels like you undergo many transformations, and feel pushed into certain situations that you may not ready for. People may view you as someone who potentially has a lot of strength, but what about if they find that you are too “strong” and push darkness onto you without your consent. Here are some things as an 8th houser that people with 8th house prominence may experience (if not please feel free to let me know your experiences, and if you can relate or not!)

The 8th Houser Experience (Short List!)

Change. It feels that the minute you have some sort of stability (maybe you just gained a new promotion, moved across the country, found a new lover, etc) and the minute things feel stable, there is a new shocking revelation that keeps you on your toes. It doesn’t have to be bad however, but the sense of stability leaves because you are constantly being shoved into a different path (e.g. gaining a new promotion, just for the high to be short lived as potentially you didn’t realize the scope of the new responsibilities, or with a new lover things feeling stable between you guys and then in a few months, something comes along and asks you both to transform). People love predictability, and love to feel control of what’s going around them, but 8th housers do not fully have that luxury (again, it’s not always a bad thing! no one should be stuck in the same place no longer than you should, and life will make sure of that as an 8th houser)

Loss. As things are constantly changing and evolving, you will lose things along the way. Even if it’s just loss of stability, you are constantly being asked to revamp yourself into a newer version so you can handle the new things that are being replaced by the things you’ve just lost. Loss can be a good thing and a bad thing, but its like the saying “you win some, you lose some”

Identity Crisis. With change that arises and often having to leave things behind, an 8th housers personality can never truly be the same. When people talk about the reactions towards an 8th houser, it’s funny because it often leaves out the harsh truth about how your constantly being asked to leave people, situations, and habits behind in order to match the frequency you are elevating to. Sure you may deal with jealousy, but often that jealousy can arise due to you being put onto a different path than others in your group. It’s not lonely being an 8th houser, it just requires you to constantly be graceful when a new path is being forced upon you, and that sometimes can include the harshness of leaving things behind.

Others Darkness. People often take people’s shadows and darkness as a pro that allows people to be perceptive and understand the inner workings of someone. That may be true and all, but dealing with the darkness in others that most often not others aren’t ready to admit or deal with can be exhausting. 8th housers can deal with their own but making sense of others who are not ready to face their shadows can be difficult (although a beautiful experience when people are ready!)

They also tend to gravitate toward all-black, layered clothing, as Saturn is strongly associated with the color black. This often includes long sleeves, turtlenecks, and lengthy skirts. Saturnian Men have a reputation of being “handsome but not really handsome”. Some of them have some sort of feminine influence on them, like they are written by women. Saturn normally gives one a bony, dry, slender appearance. There are two types of Saturnian men: the ones with very piercing eyes and the ones that have tired, softer eyes. The eyebrows are either half-moon shaped or straight, like a line, literally and also tend to be rich. Since Saturn rules the bones, they will have very strong bones and will have a rigid build. If you see a guy and he’s got the skinniest, longest face, 70% of the times he’s a saturnian. They are ones of the easiest to spot in a room. Pushya is that one exception who will be very easy to miss because it will look very similar to the lunarian Shravana (Since it has moon as its rasi ruler). The thing that differentiates between the two is that shravana almost always has very curved eyebrows. Anuradha will give that sharp, skinny features that we see in Saturnians, while Uttara Bhadrapada will give softer faces, but sharper and more piercing eyes. The mouth is usually a straight line that has lifted corners. They tend to have rather thin lips for the most part. The teeth are usually very crooked or have something that makes them stand out a lot. They also have a tendency to have chin dimples. Their bodies are not usually meaty, meaning that they can be on the skinnier side. What I have also noticed is that they are the most likely to have deep chest gaps between the pectorals (pectus excavatum)(due to poor calcium absorption in utero) and very protruding ribs. They tend to speak slower and normally have deeper voices.

Saturnian Style

These guys love baggy clothes so much it hurtsss. Doesn’t matter the color, it has to be baggy. I also noticed that even if they’re not into metal, they like to wear band tshirts. They seem to like to wear black a lot. Some might be into a more “hobo” style. I have a saturnian friend and he wears the most unhinged outfits, looks like he’s homeless.

Saturnian Personality

Extremely chill individuals. They don’t like to get into fights with anyone and like to keep things to themselves. Perhaps one of the most introverted people I know. They’re not the type to be the heart of the party, but they do have a very strong presence. They are focused, intense, hardworking perfectionists that seek refuge in their own little world. They are very patient and don’t like to rush things. They usually pick up random interests or hobbies and only work on these. My saturnian friend for example is obsessed with slipknot and makes slipknot masks, which he doesn’t sell and doesn’t like to share with just anybody. Kinda keeps it to himself and to his closest people. I also noticed that they are the most likely to enjoy watching disturbing things for some reason and like the concept of death(?). They are not the most empathetic people and can actually be very selfish (exclude pushya). They usually have hard childhoods and usually a very hard start in life. They tend to suffer a lot under their bosses. Literally that one colleague that was always bullied for no reason at all. (Reminds me of that one scene from Boondocks where Uncle Ruckus -played by a sun conj saturn actor- talks about his childhood). They peak in their 40s tho, so I guess that makes up for the stress. They also tend to be very rebellious in their earlier years.

Pushya men are the most romantic of the three and usually tend to be softer: softer eyes, softer gaze. These are the guys that don’t like going out and love to stay at home and do their thing. Giving “dark poet”.

Anuradha is usually the whackiest of them all. They love this concept of death I mentioned before and tend to like crazy stuff. They have an affinity to the occult and are extremely smart individuals.

Uttara Bhadrapada is usually very calculated and rigid, they are wise and kind, most of the times. Other times they’re absolute devils that don’t give a damn about what’s morally correct. I noticed that whatever jupiter touches (UB rasi ruler is jupiter) tends to go to extremes. It’s a bit similar to Purva Bhadrapada in a way.

Observation (disturbing): plenty of p3dophiles are saturnians, especially by UB. That does NOT mean that saturn makes you a p3do! i thought about the greek myth of Kronos and how he devoured his, um, kids…

The sign and/or nakshatra should match the Sun, Moon, AK, or rising of your future spouse.

Same with jupiter.

As an 8th house stellium, we go through a LOT of hardships and changes throughout our life. We have to deal with lots of challenging relationships and situations, which takes a toll on us. But in the end, we learn the lessons and understand what we need to takeaway from the situation. It always changes us in some way, hence why someone I could have known three or four years ago or even one year ago wouldn’t be able to recognize the person I’ve become. Each situation makes us stronger and wiser. Some 8th housers also deal with childhood and family trauma, alcoholism, and other very traumatic experiences.

We usually attract jealous, envious, and manipulative people. I remember seeing another 8th houser talking about how their close friend felt the need to “humble” them so they don’t get full of themselves. We deal with a lot of projection and assumptions simply because of how private, mysterious, and intimidating we are.

From my observations, 8th housers usually have to help with shared finances and earning money and resources with others, such as needing to help family members or friends pay bills, buy things, etc. I definitely deal with that. We also have to learn not to over give as well. This house is not so much about wealth, but we can attract the right people and opportunities due to the magnetism of our energy, which could lead to wealth depending on the circumstances. And yes, since the 8th house is about receiving money from other people, you could get a rich spouse or sugar daddy, depending on your chart.
