Dhanistha Nakshatra and Celibacy
People with dhanistha Nakshatra especially in moon, venus, mars, 8th/12th lord and Jupiter might experience long periods of celibacy in their life.
The Ashta Vasus and the Curse of Kamadhenu
The ruling deities of Dhanistha are the Ashta Vasus (the Eight Elemental Gods of Light - Agni, Prithvi, Vayu, Antariksha, Aditya, Dyaus, Chandramas, and Nakshatrani). Now, the Vasus represent the material elements that construct the universe. However, their mythology holds the reason why I'm saying this Nakshatra tends to be celibate.
According to the Mahabharata, the Vasus were cursed by Sage Vashistha because they stole his wish-fulfilling cow, Kamadhenu. The curse dictated that these eternal beings of light must be born as mortal men, bound to human suffering. While seven of the Vasus were quickly liberated by being drowned at birth by the river goddess Ganga, the eighth Vasu, Prabhasa, the one who actually stole the cow, was condemned to live a long, arduous human life.
Prabhasa reincarnated as Bhishma.
Bhishma was famously invincible, boundlessly wealthy in terms of knowledge and royal status, yet he took a vow of strict celibacy and never claimed the throne. Dhanistha people too carry the capacity for immense worldly achievement, but shadowed by a sense of isolation, marital delay, or a denial of conventional domestic bliss. The wealth of Dhanistha is often meant to be given to a higher duty or structural cause, not hoarded for personal pleasure.
