Valencia , Spain, water nymph by Moonjazz World of Wonder Seen over 33 million Times Via Flickr: A beautiful public square in Valencia's old town. A great place for people watching, enjoying a glass of wine and some Spanish tapas or a pizza. Fountains add vibrancy and life in every city. The sculptures are lifelike, lovely, sensual and even a bit erotic. A great walking city in southern Spain.
San Jancito snow glory C wow by Moonjazz World of Wonder Seen over 33 million Times Via Flickr: The dramatic San Jancinto Mountains in Riverside County, California are looking more like the Swiss Alps after the rains and snows of recent storms. The mountains top 10,000 feet (3048 M). They are too steep to ski on but you can hike and snowshoe up their . The palm trees on the eastern flank are in Palm Springs.
California New Morning by Moonjazz World of Wonder Seen over 33 million Times Via Flickr: After a storm the clearing sky leaves its fresh breeze and lets the ocean rest as the morning waves sing their daily song of life.Time to take a deep breath, a quiet stroll and let birdsong and wind be your music of the now.
Kaliadscope Dances by Moonjazz World of Wonder Seen over 33 million Times Via Flickr: Experiment with holiday lights and time exposures is an annual winter treat for me. I twist and turn my camera on different speeds zooming up down sideways, running back and forth, twisting and jumping. What a blast I never know what to expect. Like fireworks or Jackson Pollock it is a spontaneous creation. Go out and try it. Have some joy and surprise with your camera and self.

Russia maidens, a beautiful day. by Moonjazz World of Wonder Seen over 33 million Times Via Flickr: It was a Sunday in St. Petersburg, Russia in August on a hot sunny day. I saw wedding celebrations taking place everywhere I turned. These lovely ladies were wearing traditional peasant costumes with flowered headbands. This tradition may date back to a time young unmarried girls plucked fresh flowers and made traditional crowns for themselves, signifying that they were of marriageable age. People believed that that wreath helped them find their beloved one. In this case it was just good friends celebrating a beautiful summer day in the park.
Pilgrim Journey, Santiago De Compostela by Moonjazz World of Wonder Seen over 33 million Times Via Flickr: The 1,000-year-old pilgrimage to the shrine of St. James in the Cathedral of Santiago de Compostela is known in English as the Way of St. James and in Spanish as the Camino de Santiago. Over 200,000 pilgrims travel to the city each year from points all over Europe and other parts of the world. This pilgrimage is a type of walking meditation. Starting in France it can take about 35 days more or less to reach the journeys end.
Montserrat Monastery, Spain by Moonjazz World of Wonder Seen over 33 million Times Via Flickr: Montserrat (which means jagged mountains) is located next to spectacular rock formations. It was destroyed by Napoleon's army but rebuilt 1802. Their library holds 300,000 books from the 14th and 15th century. There is a famous shine one of 8 black Madonna's in European churches here. Also I learned to my amazement the a German officer Hienrich Himmler came here in WW2 honest to you know who looking for the Holy Grail. Great Indy Jones it's true!
Ibezia Castle in Southern Spain Brilliant Sunset by Moonjazz World of Wonder Seen over 33 million Times Via Flickr: This small island on the sunny coast of southern Spain has a history of being invades over and over from the 8th century on by Vandals, Byzantines and Arabs In the 12th century the Spanish retook the island and built massive fortifications. Even the cathedrals and churches were built to sustain cannon fire. Now famous for its beaches and laid back tourist cafes.
Onion Domes Estonia Cathedral Alexander Nevsky by Moonjazz World of Wonder Seen over 30 Million Times Via Flickr: The most famous church in Estonia was almost demolished by city fathers in the 1920 as it was built during a time the people were under the thumb of the Russian empire. It is now an active house of worship and a mecca and must destination for travelers to Estonia. Located in the center of Tallinn. Now that the country is independent of the former USSR it is a symbol of pride and a cultural treasure.

Santiago de Compostela, Spain , a pilgrimage church. by Moonjazz World of Wonder Seen over 30 Million Times Via Flickr: This amazing complex cathedrals, monasteries churches and historic medieval buildings dates back before Roman times but was largely built to honor Saint James the Apostle. Thousands of travelers and pilgrims make a walking journey of 500 miles from France through most of Spain to finish at this site, along the way they contemplate the meaning of life and hopefully come to some understanding of what their souls and contribute to the world. You can of course also travel here by car, train or bus and spend a day or a week looking at art treasures and exploring a beautiful part of northern Spain. ,
Griffin Mythic Dangerous Beast, Rostock, Germany by Moonjazz World of Wonder Seen over 30 Million Times Via Flickr: GRYPS (Griffin) was a beast with the head and wings of an eagle and the body of a lion. A tribe of the creatures guarded rich deposits of gold in the mountains of Skythia (Scythia) in north-eastern Europe. This one is at near a 500 year old city tunnel in Rostock, Germany. A formerly eastern block area that is now full of arts, museums, and history after being almost bombed out of existence in WW2.
Be Happy, Be Yourself! by Moonjazz World of Wonder Seen over 30 Million Times Via Flickr: This happy traveler I met on a recent cruise trip to coastal Spain. He looked so happy that I asked for permission to take a photo and post it here. Celebrate the good times when you can, share with others, don't be afraid to be yourself, when your spirit shines it flows out to all of us. I think he has great casual style , love that shirt and the whole good feeling. Give the world your hugs, music, smiles or any little or big thing that makes all our lives just a little better for you being here. Asking for hugs is good or help is good too. We all need that in this bumpy road called life.
Stonehenge History by Moonjazz World of Wonder Seen over 30 Million Times Via Flickr: This pre- Celtic monument dates back to at least 5,000 BC and some of the stones placed in Astronomical alignment weigh up to 25 tons. Many had to be moved from at least 100 miles away in Wales. An amazing feat of engineering. A new theory is that it also represented a union of almost all Celtic tribes south of Scotland and it makes sense as it would take the work of thousands of people over 100 plus years to build. The side was actually once almost 10 times bigger with an edifice even 5 times larger. Before there were stones the pagans used lodge which may carbon date back as far as 10,000 BC. Easy to reach as day trip from London or via Salisbury, a lovely village town 30 minutes away.
Lisbon, Portugal by Moonjazz World of Wonder Seen over 30 Million Times Via Flickr: Fabulous views on a sunny day in the lovely Atlantic ocean facing Lisbon. Often called the San Francisco of Europe because it too is built on hills, with cable cars and even it's own golden gate style bridge built buy the same engineers. Also a great walking city filled with art , music, good food, outdoor cafes, fountains and history.

These women have skill, power, endurance and are true athletes. Finalist wear different color jerseys and have about 5 or 10 minutes to catch as many waves and do as many tricks as possible to score points. It is free to watch and the long pier is a great place to observe and enjoy the rush.
