I’ve seen people analyze this scene so I decided to do my take on it.

We see that He Tian had just finished fighting She Li after he nearly stabs Mo and we are hit with this look.

He Tian turns to look at Mo and I noticed that he was almost crying. I believe this was a show of how rattled he was when he realized that Mo could’ve died. She Li had the upper ground and He Tian almost couldn’t save the one person he cared about the most.

I also think his tears were tears of anger as well. In the panels leading up to this He Tian grabs She Li and just punches and punches until someone has to stop him from killing him. You can see in the panel that He Tian is full on shaking.

He Tian was so fucking scared because the person who has tormented Mo’s life for so long almost won. And he was so close to not being able to prevent it.

And when He Tian turns to Mo he is met with this look.

Mo was in tears. He was just given a full confirmation that He Tian was willing to do just about anything to save him. He was willing to risk his life for him, more than once. Mo never had anyone that was willing to do so much only to make sure he was okay and safe. To him, this showed that He Tian really loved him. To him, this showed that He Tian truly cared for him.

My parents expected me to build wings of gold and fly further than anyone could ever try. I don't blame them, having a child to raise is like sculpting a clay pot, you can shape it the way you like, paint it the colour you fancy. To raise a child is to play God. To raise a child is to be God.

But to be a child is to fall, to make mistakes, to fail. The thing about being too bright at an early age means you burn out by the time you're 16 and suddenly the world around you becomes more gray and terribly, terribly lonely. The fire is never warm enough, nothing is ever enough. And one day you find yourself begging to a godless sky, begging for a new spark.

I was a gifted child once. I was the golden girl. And one day, I burned out.
