In my experience, horror fans are by and large lovely people with a very healthy relationship to their genre of choice, but sometimes they fuck up and say something that in their ears sounds very affirmative of the movie of discussion and to everyone else sounds like the most sinister shit.

Love when the “social boundries” of movies are pushed. Especially in horror movies. When kids die. When people are tortured slowly. When you’re stalked and trapped, then killed. When it’s a game for the killer. When it pushes how comfortable the watcher is going to be. It’s wonderful. I don’t watch horror to feel happy and laugh. I watch them to see the depths at which our minds will go, for entertainment. For a story. And when the situations are more so close to real life scenarios and plausible situations, even better. My favorites are the ones that make most people cringe, or hide their eyes, or that are banned in other countries. They aren’t supposed to make you feel good. They’re supposed to scare you.
