Parfait let out a heavy sigh, crossing their arms. They looked at where Hildibrand was. Briardien titlted his head at them, concerned.

"Is there something wrong, Parfait?" he asked, "Other than his penchant for buffonery?"

The viera pouted, "I was going to ask him out finally…"

There was a pause in the air. Briardien, Ellie, and Cecy turned to look at Parfait, a mixture of utter confusion and concern plain on their faces.

"Really?" asked Ellie.

"Yes?"

"Him?" asked Cecy, "Of all people?"

"Who else would it be?" they said plainly.

"… Ask him to go where?" Nashu mused to herself.

Goldbert laughed, "Ho ho ho! The Manderville charm strikes again to capture another young one's heart! Could tell from the moment I met ya, had the look in your eye. I'm afraid there is no escape for you now Kiddo!"

"He really is. When I thought Hildibrand was going to die, I realized how much he had come to mean to me. You could say the feeling snuck up on me."

Ellie shifted uncomfortably, then groaned, "I know this is morbid curiousity, but… what exactly do you see in him?"

"Hildebrands kind, and honest, and completely genuine. I've never met someone like him. From where I'm from, you're naught more than a piece of a machine. You act how you're made to. I was a gilded tool." They smiled, "I never feel like he sees me like that."

Briardien glanced at Ellie before replying, "I can see how he would be quite refreshing then."
