NEW Avengers: Infinity War Concept Art! #MarvelSDCC
( worldsgreatestmarksman )
The idea of Natasha trying to set Steve up with regular, every day people is frankly hysterical and Clint canât quite keep the amused grin off of his features.  Knowing Natashaâs sense of humor the way he does, heâs willing to bet that there were a couple of curve balls thrown into the mix.
âYeah, I know exactly what you mean.  Itâs kinda hard to relate to your date when the thing theyâre most worried about is that the poor underpaid cashier at Target didnât give them their five dollars off âââ â Clint shrugs ( as much as one can while running ).  âStill, dating people like us presents its own set of challenges.â
Steve chuckles at Clintâs response. Â He wouldnât really know, Â but he doesnât say as much out loud. Â Sure, Steveâs been a couple of dates but those were mostly double dates Bucky arranged. Â He never really thought of those as anything but a way to get out of the house. Â And after the ice, Â Steve spent most of his time fighting.Â
He figured it would happen eventually. Â Steve nods his head, Â â -- Have you ever dated a civilian?â Â Â
( worldsgreatestmarksman )
He tips his head in the slightest nod of acknowledgment, a hint of another smile tugging at the corners of his mouth. Â âSome people find a lot of comfort in familiar things,â he points out. Â âThatâs not necessarily a bad thing.â
Steve is guilty of that.  So much so that he thinks Clint might be directing his comment directly at him.  He nods his head,  â-- Youâre right about that.  I guess,  I shouldnât try to take that away from them.âÂ
âI snagged [Dodger] and heâs such a good dog. They aged him at about one, he acts like a puppy, heâs got the energy of a puppy, heâs just such a sweetheart, heâs such a good boy. He loves dogs, he loves kids, heâs full of love.â

Divided We Fall || Stark & Rogers
( starkprotocol )
@heroamended
ââŚhold your fire and await further orders.â
The authoritative voice is distant within earpieces, protocols drilled into tactical agents forming a loose albeit particularly distant perimeter beyond layers of tarmac for potential backup. Stark had vehemently declined the assistance regardless of the ever-present possibility of things going south, a lingering impression of optimism infiltrating the futuristâs perception once the man had caught wind of the invitation for the meeting. The Avenger was far from being a spiritual person ( conversely, in fact ), but faith in the apparent âmonumentâ of a figure such as Rogers played a part in his buoyed trust, the incoming projectile of the tin-man abruptly making contact with the ground in its usual flair.
Metal knuckles shred concrete, the sound of reverberating actuators unfurling and glowing repulsor points powering down from having ignited the atmosphere, the industrialist standing upright within the protective encasing - now a mere extension of himself as opposed to a cocoon in which the engineer had grown accustomed to. Preliminary scans concurrently take place to analyse a multitude of probable data, namely the number of individuals attending this impromptu little shindig. The two figures are far from alone, either âsideâ  bringing with it a hefty means of accompaniment each more daunting than the last. But a vaguest semblance of coy humour ( easily mistaken for flippancy ) weaves into the voice which filters through the tiers of alloys comprising of the stoic faceplate, the latter betraying the appearance of the manâs nervous eagerness.
< SO WEIRD HOW YOU RUN INTO PEOPLE AT THE AIRPORT >
Steve walks forward with the knowledge that every step he takes is one he canât take back. Â The people who follow him, Â the ones who have been following his lead this whole time, Â wait his command. Â But Steve knows, Â he has their fates in his hand. Â If things go sideways, Â itâll be on him. Â He has to tell himself that this is important enough ---- Â That what theyâre fighting for is vital enough to stand up to their friends for. Â Steve didnât want it to come to this. Â He never set out to make enemies out of those he trusted. Â But he couldnât change their minds. Â They couldnât change his. Â And Steve has never been the type to go along with something he didnât believe in.Â
And he believes in this. Â
As Tony lands in front of them, Â cutting off their path, Â Steve stops in his tracks. Â His brow raises as he watches Tony land before he stands up tall in his suit. Â He certainly came for a fight, Â thought Steve wonders how much heâs been able to take off his suit during all of this. Â He stepped forward, Â feeling the weight of his friends behind him waiting for the call to action.Â
âYouâve been busy,â  Steve says as he raises a hand, indicating at the prison structure a short distance behind him.  He sighs before he says,  â ---  We canât let this go on any longer.âÂ
Heâs not Captain America anymore. Â There is no star on his chest, Â no shield on his arm. Â His clothes are tattered and worn. Â Facial hair has grown past the point of stubble over his jawline and around his mouth. Â Heâs unrecognizable -- Which had been to his benefit in the weeks coming but now, Â as he takes a razor to his jaw, he thinks he can no longer face the crowd as a stranger. Â He might not be Captain America anymore but he is Steve Rogers. Â He has stood in front of crowds of soldiers, Â beaten down by the endless onslaught of tyranny in Europe. Â He has looked young men in the eyes who would have given anything to go back home and convinced them to get back on their feet. Â The real Captain America is behind bars. Â And Steve will take up that mantle again if it means he can give his people a little bit of hope.Â
âUp until now, we have stood back.  Weâve waited while providing support for those who needed it.  We have lasted as a quiet barrier between despots and the targets of their regime.  They want us to give up our freedom,  our autonomy, and our dignity for a false sense of security.  And when we refuse,  they lock us away.âÂ
His jaw sets, Â âWe can no longer stand back and act as the silent resistance. Â We canât expect to make a difference by only lifting a finger when we should be raising our fist.â
âWe will come face to face with Iron Man and the rest,â He sighs, âBut only to bring them out so we can get our people out of their prison. We will show them they canât lock us away for being who we are. This isnât the way to make the world safe. This isnât how you protect anyone.âÂ
( residentshapeshifter )
You sure? I can try now.
[ he doesnât really want to, but he doesnât want to seem like heâs not fully committed.)
( steve appreciates his persistence. Â but he also doesnât want to see the kid throw out his back. Â so he motions to the set and grabs the bar for him. )Â
You donât need to prove anything to me, Teddy.Â
( agent-thirteen )
Itâs â WEIRDLY REASSURING, that the literal pinnacle of human perfection still TALKS WITH HIS MOUTH FULL.
âDonât sound so excited,â dry as the desert, her chin cradled in her palm while she takes her time dragging a fry through the small mound of ketchup.  Sharonâs leant in enough that the toe of her shoe drags along the pant leg of his uniform when she shifts to cross her knees beneath her desk.  âOnly if youâre FREE, you know, I canât exactly ask you to slack off of SHIELDâs dime.â
Thankfully he swallows his bite of food or else any minuscule sense of allure he could give off would be wasted.  He smirks as he feels her shoe against his leg.  Steve reaches for his drink,  straw between his lips as he smirks at her from across her desk.  âSure you can,â He tells her as he leans to the end of his chair,  âYouâre the boss.âÂ
[on âCaptain America: The First Avengerâ] Right now in America, how we handle ourselves in political and global issues is up for questioning. (He) might wear the red, white and blue but I donât think this is all about America. It is what America stands for.

twenty-nine? this was supposed to be my last thing in this workout!
(teddy huffs, realizing he probably should not be whining to captain fucking america)Â
âŚ. yessir.
( steve smiles as teddy complains. Â he crosses his arms as teddy goes back to it. )Â
You donât have to do it all now. Â Work up to it. Â Youâll get there, kid.Â
16. captain america
âYouâve been asleep, Cap. For almost 70 years. You gonna be okay?â
âYeah. Yeah, I justâŚI had a date.â
( worldsgreatestmarksman )
âSorry, but ââ â Clint offers Steve another grin, shakes his head, âBetter you than me, man.â  If Clint can get out of those kind of duties then heâs going to be the first to bail every single time.
Steve laughs, âYeah --- Sure.  I guess,  people are used to seeing me on a stage anyway.â  It might not be the most comfortable role for him to step into but he can do it and he knows the impact he can make when he does it.Â

Bad Luck Relies On Incredibly Perfect Timing || Bucky & Steve
( facethepast )
( mostly, Bucky wishes he could muster something other than silence, some shred of appreciationâ because as much as heâs quietly hated Steveâs stubborn insistence that heâs worth anyoneâs concern, itâs somehow tolerable here, a goddamn reprieve; but all he can think isâ Steve shouldnât have to figure out how to deal with this )
Itâs an unknowingly loaded questionâ one heâs pretty sure he doesnât have an answer for, more to anything Bucky could say to him than what lies atop the surfaceâ the way algae blooms on water; not a cause but a REACTION.
( it doesnât change the fact that what lies beneath is just as toxic )
Bucky manages a smile, shy of crooked and convincingly genuine.
âYou know meâ always am.â
Steve tries to smile. He makes an honest-to-god effort but all Bucky gets is a short nod of his head. Bucky is a survivor. But he shouldnât have to be. The fact that heâs running around with a tracker on his arm because itâs for the greater good makes Steveâs head spin and blood boil. Â He shouldnât have to put his life on the line over and over and over again.Â
But if he didnât, Â Steve thinks, Â he wouldnât be Captain America.Â
Even when theyâre on the outs with the powers-that-be, Steve knows that shield belongs in Buckyâs hands still. Â None of this changes any of that. Â So as he watches Bucky smile, Â Steve gives it another try. Â He musters up an earnest, Â hopeful smile which he hopes Bucky will take with him.Â
âI know this,â Steve tells him, â ----  Take care, Buck.  Donât do anything stupid without me.âÂ
