as a queer person i never would’ve thought i’d be saying that to a (presumably straight girl) but safe to say i’ve grown, very much.

i never thought that anyone would see you liking men, and then think ‘internalized misogyny’.

and i want to say, i feel this way too.

being in queer culture, and being afab, i’ve been harassed by other queer people for “just being a cis straight girl invading queer spaces” because i like men and i am afab.

some men are bad, and yes male culture has many flaws, but it’s just that, a culture. and someone born into that culture doesn’t always end up aligning and being apart of that culture as they get older.

men are capable of empathy, of kindness, of being feminist, and are capable of being not misogynistic.

saying men aren’t all bad people doesn’t make someone an MRA.

they are human beings before they are men, and they are capable of being good people because they are human.

there’s no shame in liking men, you can’t control it.

Plus, some men can be very handsome. In fact, I have a crush on two gorgeous vintage Hollywood actors.

It's okay. Sometimes when we are surrounded by too much negativity around us we tend to become bitter of people too. And yeah, I feel like having good male influences is important. It's completely normal to become wary of men if the most important male figure in your life was not a good person. I completely understand.

Ah I'm sorry but I'd rather really not open links to posts. I can listen to people when they say things by themselves in my ask box but I really don't want to actively go to a page and read these things. Really sorry.

Obviously women have suffered more due to the patriarchy, but men have absolutely suffered too in their own way. I call it the papercut/ losing limb comparison. Obviously getting your arm or leg chopped off hurts more than getting a papercut, but the papercut still hurts.
