i agree with op's analysis whole heartedly but i also love that in the show we see homura lose her patience with madoka so frequently. nearly every interaction is filled with vitriol (ex. "how stupid could you possibly be?"). it’s only natural to sick of everything when you're in a time loop, but with homura specifically, it seems like ACTUALLY INTERACTING with madoka doesn't even bring her joy anymore. but then again in her head she still says that she'll repeat everything over and over if it means madoka is saved. which to me, communicates that she's started to love the idea of madoka, and not the one right in front of her anymore.

near the end of the show, old madoka starts to bleed through, and that DEVASTATES homura (ex. "i don’t know why, but... i guess i... i guess i don't wanna think you'd lie to me."). maybe that iconic selflessness, that kindness that homura once loved, shining through every once in a while, along with her memories of who madoka once was, is what kept homura going all that time.
