Damian, softer: It felt dishonest to wait.

It's not any better on social media. Damian rarely posts but when he does he always has a photo of Jon and yk when you can tell how much someone adores a person just from how carefully they take pictures? That's him.

90% of Jon's photos are on Pinterest purely because of how well Damian takes them.

They're even spotted in public being all domestic. Everyone talks about how great of a partner Damian is and how much he loves Jon. There's books based off of Damian being the male love interest and everything.

Everyone gets whiplash because his father's reputation is being such a playboy and his son is considered the ideal lover by the entire city.

I wrote that post late and night AS I was about to sleep so maybe I did get the concept of Orientalism wrong, which is completely possible of course, and I'd love to get educated on it! I simply believe I have the right to talk about this topic more since I am an Arab myself.

I simply said, that in many mlm pairings that include an Arab character, when authors want to emphasize a top/bottom dynamic they often feminize one character (which, as you mentioned, is common in fandoms). However in these cases, the feminization sometimes feels culturally coded ? The character's Arab identity becomes an aesthetic excuse to make him more sensual, more delicate, more """"exotic""" to fit an orientalist fantasy rather than developed as a person, and in this case the feminization is tied to stereotypes about arab/ middle eastern culture.

Edward Said described Orientalism as a pattern where "eastern" people are depicted through Western fantasies; exotic, sensual, submissive, mysterious, etc... I think I did mean to talk about orientalism in that case.

...& I took jondami as an example because yes, I've seen that in many, many fics n fanarts on Tumblr. It may not be representative but I believe it is still an issue that needs to be addressed ?
