I graduated from my school so I had a lot of things going on with graduation prep! I was also participating in the essay competition (which I got shortlisted for yay!!) and then some of my previous interests started popping up again so I wasn't very motivated to post about Damian </3 but I've been getting back into him!! i kept thinking about your fem damian post and i have a few options for what i think would be a good name!
damayanti: this would be my first option. it has a similar vibe and meaning, and it’s namesake (from hindu mythology) is a persevering and very intelligent woman, which I think would interest talia
damara: this one is also very similar in vibe, but not so much in meaning. it means “gentle”, which i think could be interesting as a sort of juxtaposition to who the character is, but it all depends on thr story ig
daniya: means “closeness to god”. i think (if placed in a story where ra’s has a huge ego) it could work, but it misses that same idea of damian as a name
deianira: a close connection to greek mythology (similar to damian), and it does mean “to slay” which is similar enough imo. it is the name of the wife this killed heracles, but i feel like talia would dig that
dorothea: meaning “gift of god” i could totally see talia naming her daughter that, however it also misses the vibes and meaning of damian’s name
i think a couple others (like diana or durga) could work, but i avoided them due to being other characters’ names

I've been wondering how do you think would being born a girl have changed damian's personality/character? Maybe not at all? Plus what about his dynamic with the others? Probably a weird ask lol.
Hi! Omg I love this ask! I don't think it would alter anything in his relationship with Talia and Ra's. Regardless of gender, they will both love her and also train her. Although I could totally imagine some very specific daughter-mother bonding with Talia which I'd think would be sweet :) But him being a girl would definitely change how she's treated by her teachers. I believe plenty of her male teachers would treat her as lesser than. I also feel like she'd be underestimated more often on her League missions, something I think she'd learn to utilise. I think this could also cause an internal conflict of where she needs to be strong and adept as an assassin but also in line with gender norms pushed upon her by her male teachers. I don't think she'd adhere to them, I especially don't think Ra's or Talia would let her dumb herself down for being a girl. I could see Talia intervening in this situation like she did with that one teacher in Robin 2023. I also think it'd change her relationship with the Batfam. Love Tim and Damian's relationship but in the beginning Tim did say plenty of crass stuff in regards to Damian's "biology" so without a doubt he'll probably throw a quip in there about Damian being a girl. She may also communicate more (or be encouraged to communicate) with female members of the Batfam/Wayne family. I could totally imagine Bruce asking Barbara to guide Damian just like Barbara once did with Cass. I think genderbent Damian in the beginning would also lash out more as she'd feel like she needs to prove herself more because of her gender. And I think we could see some very compelling narratives on her coinciding her childhood lessons with what's expected of her as a girl by society, if you get what I mean? Especially in school. But I don't think much of Damian's personality would change. He's a caring and compassionate person by nature and that's how he'll always be. In real life though, I do think he'd be written quite differently. Especially considering how much sexist writing there is in DC comics.
opinion on the hc that Damian likes vocaloid music?? i think its very cute and honestly the idea that he likes them because they speak for a million different people makes me a little emotional
I ADORE this hc!!! Damian definitely adores all forms of arts but especially Vocaloids because of how it represents any and all. Vocaloids are an instrument that are breathed into life via community and I think Damian would find that aspect absolutely beautiful. I think he'd try to write a few songs of his own, using a vocaloid as a way to pass his time. It's not one of his frequent hobbies, merely when the inspiration strikes. He doesn't really intend to share it but one time he shows one of his songs to Maya and she insists that he should post it so he does (because yes he will give in when Maya demands something of him, no he will never admit it). He posts it on a random burner account and doesn't really expect anything. And it's radio silence for months until some editor uses it for their edit and it goes viral. Damian doesn't really care for the virality though but Maya sends him videos containing his song all the time and he always leave a heart on the message.
Listening to The Cure made me think of Damian. I feel like Damian would easily get caught up in his thoughts. It's simultaneously his safe haven and his place of detriment. It's the place where he's wholly understood. Where all of his actions have a clear reasoning, a clear moment led to it. Where all of his instincts have contexts. Where all of his habits have beginnings. For someone who always has to explain everything, recall memories and share them to add context, it's delightful to be able to just know. Yet at the same time, it's where he's least understood. He doesn't understand how others perceive him, how generally he presents himself. Whether it's too cocky, too forgiving, too weak, or too stoic. He doesn't understand how he interacts with others, whether those he holds dear love him or not. He doesn't understand his opportunities, whether he deserves them or not. He knows himself best yet at the same time he knows himself least. And on difficult nights, he curls up in bed---ragged breathing as he tries to hold onto figments of himself and his identity.

I love Talia and Jason mother-son headcanons right like yipeee wow fanon yay but oh my god I hate it when they completely disregard Damian’s relationship with Talia in the same breath. It’s all happy and nice when Talia is mothering Jason but with Damian it’s “SHES A BAD MOM” or “SHES A BITCH!!”
It makes me so irritated. Not to mention the amount of times I see headcanons of Talia preferring Jason to Damian. SHE WOULD NOT!!!!!!!!!

As much as I shit on Tim Drake stans or other things in the DC Fandom that annoys me overall, I will not send death threats nor would I ever advise anyone who follows me to go and flood their page with hate comments and such.
I found that to be completely distasteful, and I do not wish for anything from my page to feel incentivised or feel as though it's their moral duty to go and 'correct' their behavior through textbook bullying. Not to mention that it's often done in bad faith and pre-requisite assumptions of such and such, thus contributing to this framework of individuals that may or may not affect one's perceptions of how someone should or should not act.
Also. It's a very horrible use of your time.
Lately, I've been going through major deconstruction of my personal beliefs and have been trying to use any phrases that correlate to "this is racist !!" Less and less. I do agree that we need to be more woke, but if I'm not careful, there might be chances for me to spout conservative ideology, even while working on progression. There's always space and time for me to improve as a person, and I think it'd be more productive for us to continuously investigate our actions and our thoughts and check if we really do have the 'better' in mind.
Personally, I don't think people should use fiction or what someone prefers in fiction as a 1:1 scale of their morale nor who they are as a person. Sure, it could be a bit of a red-flag at times, but assuming without concrete evidence (eg: something they did to a real person) can lead to a court case of defamation, to which the accuser will lose if they have nothing to go off aside from screenshots of incorrect quotes of fictional characters.
You might read this and assume that I'm just blabbering from my ass and reminiscing of the 'good ol' days' of fandom etiquette, but I'm saying thus as someone who lives in a country with insane censorship due to the same argument. That whatever seen or screen will automatically be assumed and internalized by the consumer, without a mental filter nor conscience comes into play. There's always room for criticism, sure, but when paired with death threats on the side, the messenger doesn't seem... All that good either.
So please, if you saw something that you really, really hate— maybe shit on it in private. Don't send death threats, don't sync anyone on that person, maybe a few DMs or two. Don't just assume that you're always morally right just because you have not felt what it feels like having to beg for someone's understanding and patience.
People change, people can improve, people sometimes start in places where you hate.

Every Damian post I see that isn't Damian centric is always just "Damian made x cry because of *insert some mundane action blown out of proportion/"hurtful action" that could've been communicated in like 2 minutes"
One of the funniest (+mildly irritating) things about the "T*m Drake is so special in Ra's heart that he calls him 'detective'!!" Crowd is the fact that 'Detective' isn't some exclusive premium member title that Ra's used... Like that is a job title. He be calling everyone who works as a detective (or in this case specifically, Bruce, Dick, Jason, Tim, etc) detective, with only an exception of DAMIAN. His grandson. And Talia. His beloved daughter.
