I found that to be completely distasteful, and I do not wish for anything from my page to feel incentivised or feel as though it's their moral duty to go and 'correct' their behavior through textbook bullying. Not to mention that it's often done in bad faith and pre-requisite assumptions of such and such, thus contributing to this framework of individuals that may or may not affect one's perceptions of how someone should or should not act.

Also. It's a very horrible use of your time.

Lately, I've been going through major deconstruction of my personal beliefs and have been trying to use any phrases that correlate to "this is racist !!" Less and less. I do agree that we need to be more woke, but if I'm not careful, there might be chances for me to spout conservative ideology, even while working on progression. There's always space and time for me to improve as a person, and I think it'd be more productive for us to continuously investigate our actions and our thoughts and check if we really do have the 'better' in mind.

Personally, I don't think people should use fiction or what someone prefers in fiction as a 1:1 scale of their morale nor who they are as a person. Sure, it could be a bit of a red-flag at times, but assuming without concrete evidence (eg: something they did to a real person) can lead to a court case of defamation, to which the accuser will lose if they have nothing to go off aside from screenshots of incorrect quotes of fictional characters.

You might read this and assume that I'm just blabbering from my ass and reminiscing of the 'good ol' days' of fandom etiquette, but I'm saying thus as someone who lives in a country with insane censorship due to the same argument. That whatever seen or screen will automatically be assumed and internalized by the consumer, without a mental filter nor conscience comes into play. There's always room for criticism, sure, but when paired with death threats on the side, the messenger doesn't seem... All that good either.

So please, if you saw something that you really, really hate— maybe shit on it in private. Don't send death threats, don't sync anyone on that person, maybe a few DMs or two. Don't just assume that you're always morally right just because you have not felt what it feels like having to beg for someone's understanding and patience.
