Until just now. I mean, a few seconds ago when I saw a sad post about somebody else's Mom being gone, did I realize that I tricked myself into just saying the words. That's how I get by. Just like you automatically say, "sorry" or, "excuse me" when you're in someone's way; I automatically say the words without thinking about them. It's a cover up. I can't stop myself. Or maybe I don't want to. I'm good at this: not remembering. It's not painful this way. It'll get me later, when I least expect it, but now my wall is standing strong against that painful cold front.
