i find it hilarious how the hotd fanbase has taken hold of gwayne's character from his very first appearance to project their own personal bias against criston onto when he is quite literally the opposite of that. gwayne is the first noble in criston's life to ever treat him and sincerely see him as an equal. a friend, as he called him last episode. i don't expect the thousand “lol he's so sick of cole he's just like me” takes to ever stop but i hope at least some of these people are aware of how badly they're mischaracterizing gwayne :/
