Revolting Phantom

The reality of the matter is I could see everything happening but what could I do about it?

I press the foundations of my existence and the boundaries of nature yield me. I spend an eternity with a way out ahead of me, a way to move on, unable to remove myself from all that I left behind. The years reel on for them, every crack every wrinkle of sadness pulls me in, braces my guilt.

Sometimes I think of hell, the fire, the darkness, the grotesque and convoluted means of torture, I think what must a soul have done to land there. Are people truly born into sin? I watch, through the looking glass, as my family tears themselves apart from the inside-out in my absence and remember they were once good people. Did I do this to them? Is this hell…

Humanity lives against all odds, I can too.

For so long have we scraped by on this mortal coil, embodying life itself, keeping the fire alive. I have seen what is written after the end. I know what feeds the infinite realm.

We have a crude name for it, a basis sentimentality, your thoughts, your passion, the energy you manifest into this world all on your own. We call it love. And I hold it closest to my heart as a beacon of significance. I will not go coldly into afterlife, I will not sacrifice all that I am responsible for to pay the harbinger.

I alone of sheer will can summon the power necessary to penetrate the walls that separate the living from the dead. I will spend all the countless days of my departed soul denying the journey beyond, fording the etherial plane, finding a way back. I will save my family.
