And second, I've never written for vampires before but I LOVE how you write them. Can you tell us a bit about how you write them, your thoughts/ideas, and what you would recommend in terms of tips or things like that?

As for writing vampires, I don't think I'm doing anything new or innovative. There's so much stuff out there that, for me, i find it's hard to reinvent the wheel.

I think for me, i start to think about the physiology of a vampire and what I'd like for that to look like.

So:

feeding - what does that look like. is it only blood, can they eat food, etc

what happens if they don't feed

Body things like do they have blood running through them or something, or maybe multiple things

what is it exactly that creates vampires. For me, I chose venom, but there could be other things out there. And i chose that becoming a vampire means you need a lot of venom in your system for that change to happen. Can't just be one and done bite.

Then i think about if i want venom to be able to do anything else

think about classic vampirism like the sun, garlic, what kills them etc,

then i think about powers if vampires have any

So really, you're kind of thinking about everything that makes you human and how to convert that into a supernatural being and you're breaking down every part of being human and what the counterpart is as a vampire.
