There are bird houses and then there are luxury bird homes. Portland, ME-based illustrator and birder Jada Fitch makes awesome homes for her local feathered friends, each with beautifully decorated interiors. Fitch fills the homes with irresistible treats and then attaches them to her windows so she can capture photos and video of the birbs enjoying their spiffy digs and tasty eats:
A video posted by Jada Fitch (@jadafitch) on Oct 23, 2016 at 3:30pm PDT
It’s worth noting that these fancy dwellings aren’t permanent fixtures. They’re neither squirrel nor weatherproof, so Fitch only leaves them up for a few hours at a time and has permanent bird feeders set up nearby in her backyard.
Visit Jada Fitch’s website to check out her artwork and follow her on Instagram to check out more of her birb-related photos and videos.

With 31 July just around the corner, I’ve been cooking up a lot of Harry Potter-inspired pieces! This House series was so much fun (Oh and you can now get prints of these in my Etsy *wink wink*)

Mysterious 265-Year-Old Mansion in London Is Rediscovered and Being Sold for Millions
My dragon is done! This was my final major project at the university of Hertfordshire. He is a Heraldic Dragon statue that I originally sculpted in clay before moulding and casting the final model in fibreglass. He stands just over 1 metre tall and has a welded steel armature inside his body so that he can be bolted to his plinth. Plans are to add wings and maybe also shield for him to hold in the future.
We worked side by side, hunger bird and dragon, through the pain.
The Hunger Bird, on display at the New Blades exhibition. One hell of a ride. My first time creating a creature of this size. The plaster mould fell apart, and I was told to quit three times, but here it is. I fixed an unfixable project. And I reached the goal that I’ve been heading towards for a large part of my education - I brought my imagination to life. Something I plan to keep doing, and something I hope will inspire and create a sense of wonder in both young and old. Hopefully a better photo will come soon, the red eyes are an important feature! Stay tuned. Thank you to Neil Gaiman for inspiring me with your own imagination, I hope it is to your liking!
