ROSE / RED

she looks over herself in the mirror, a soft smile on her face as she takes in the details of the dress she’s wearing. she hopes that emmett will like it. how had she gotten so lucky as to find someone who truly, truly loved her? not for the status a marriage to her might bring him, but just for her. she couldn’t remember the last time someone didn’t want to be around her just because of something she could do for them. 

today, she gets to marry for love. she turns to esme with a smile on her face. ❝ he hasn’t changed his mind and turned to run, has he? ❞ she asks, turning to face the door that will open into the small church. esme laughs but assures her that he’s still in there, calming some of the girl’s fears.

she gives esme a nod and holds her arm out to carlisle. esme goes first, acting as matron of honor and flower  girl all at the same time. and then, the wedding march begins. she takes a deep breath and readies herself, taking those few steps to stand in front of the door that esme had just walked out of. in just ten second, the doors would open, and she would be mrs. mccarty. // @bearwrestled
