     𝐁𝐎𝐎𝐊  𝐈𝐒  𝐒𝐇𝐔𝐓  𝐖𝐈𝐓𝐇  𝐔𝐍𝐍𝐄𝐂𝐄𝐒𝐒𝐀𝐑𝐘  𝐒𝐓𝐑𝐄𝐍𝐆𝐓𝐇,  sigh  breaking  the  silence  as  it  escapes  her  glossy  lips.  no  one  ever  asked  her  if  this  was  what  she  wanted  /  the  miraculous  child  who  grows  up  too  fast  and  cannot  ever  attend  school.  all  renesmee  wants  is  to  meet  new  people,  make  friends  /  have  a  stupid  locker  she  can  lean  against,  go  to  prom  and  try  to  be  a  cheerleader.  except  she  cannot.  she  grows  up  too  fast,  only  seven  though  she  looks  much  older.  the  child  of  a  girl  who  has  stopped  aging  herself  and  only  just  graduated.  it  is  why  she  is  schooled  by  her  family,  though  it  can  get  frustrating  at  times.  after  all,  no  one  ever  said  she  would  not  inherit  some  of  her  family’s  short  temper  /  his  occasional  short  temper.  “𝐬𝐨𝐫𝐫𝐲  𝐚𝐛𝐨𝐮𝐭  𝐭𝐡𝐚𝐭."  voice  is  weak  as  gaze  flickers  towards  her  hands.  "𝐜𝐚𝐧  𝐰𝐞  𝐝𝐨  𝐭𝐡𝐢𝐬  𝐭𝐨𝐦𝐨𝐫𝐫𝐨𝐰,  𝐮𝐧𝐜𝐥𝐞  𝐞𝐦?  𝐢  𝐭𝐡𝐢𝐧𝐤  𝐢  𝐡𝐚𝐯𝐞  𝐚  𝐦𝐢𝐠𝐫𝐚𝐢𝐧𝐞."  /  @bearwrestled

     𝐓𝐇𝐄𝐘  𝐆𝐑𝐎𝐖  𝐔𝐏  𝐒𝐎  𝐃𝐀𝐌𝐍  𝐅𝐀𝐒𝐓.   it  had  been  seven  years  since  the  cullen  clan  got  a  little  bigger.   seven  years  since  his  niece  took  her  first  gulps  of  air  and,  in  doing  so,  proved  all  of  vamp-kind  wrong.   seven  years,  yet  little  nessie  looked  no  younger  than  her  mother  and  father,  hair  of  molten  bronze  and  eyes  of  rich  chocolate.   fitting  that  the  look  of  eternal  anguish  contorting  her  features  is  pure  edward  —  so  much  so  that  em  has  to  stiffle  his  laughter  beneath  the  droll  of  level  three  latin.   he  hates  tutoring  almost  as  much  as  ren  hates  being  tutored,  so  he  doesn’t  put  up  much  of  a  fight  when  she  slams  her  book  shut  and  declares  herself  finito.   ❝   no  worries,  peanut.   all  those  conjugations  were  starting  to  blur  together,  anyhow.   ❞   he  fires  off  a  conspiratorial  wink,  a  half-hearted  attempt  get  his  favorite  only  niece  to  crack  a  smile.   ❝   we’ll  just  tell  your  grandad  latin’s  a  dead  language  and  all  the  kids  are  learning  spanish  or  french  nowadays.   should  buy  us  some  time.   ❞   closing  his  own  volume,  he  tilts  back  in  his  chair.   ❝   something  on  your  mind?   ❞

𝐖𝐇𝐈𝐋𝐄 𝐓𝐘𝐋𝐄𝐑 𝐇𝐀𝐃 𝐁𝐄𝐅𝐑𝐈𝐄𝐍𝐃𝐄𝐃 𝐀 𝐋𝐎𝐓 𝐎𝐅 𝐕𝐀𝐌𝐏𝐈𝐑𝐄𝐒, none of them were anything like emmett cullen. they’d first met back when tyler was going through the worst time of his life ( well, or so he had thought back then ), and tyler hadn’t really gotten to know him. since then he’d died twice, become a hybrid, been resurrected, and retriggered his werewolf gene. mystic falls was definitely not where tyler had thought he’d stay for the rest of his life, and he definitely didn’t expect to end up with emmett cullen being the one at his side. he tossed a football to his friend, “so did you ever think you were gonna be stuck in mystic falls?” he asked, “i mean… you don’t have the stupid town in your veins… yet you’re still here.”

     𝐀  𝐏𝐋𝐀𝐂𝐄  𝐓𝐎  𝐂𝐀𝐋𝐋  𝐇𝐎𝐌𝐄.   for  decades,  it  was  his  secret  shame,  the  one  thing  he  craved  more  than  anything  else  in  the  world,  much  too  chicken  to  voice  aloud.   capturing  the  toss  with  a  startling  amount  of  grace  for  someone  with  his  build,  em  relishes  the  feel  of  the  sun  beating  down  on  his  face,  good  conversation  with  good  friends.   life’s  simple  pleasures.   ❝   towns  have  feelings  too,  you  know.   ❞   ochres  twinkle  playfully  as  he  does  a  little  victory  jig  before  throwing  the  ball.   it  sails  through  the  cloudless  sky  in  a  perfect  arc  and  em  mimes  a  salute.    ❝   it’s  really  not  so  bad.   when  we  were  living  out  west,  we  had  to  get  weatherman’s  blessing  before  we  could  play.   here,  you  guys  have  magical  soundproof  barriers.   everything’s  so  —  open.   it’s  like  a  whole  ‘nother  world.   ❞

                                 YOUR  APPEARANCE IS TERRIFYING.

          you  might  be  a  perfectly  pleasant  person,  but  how  you  look  is  intimidating  in  some  way.    whether  that's  inhumanly  beautiful,  strong  and  menacing,  or  cold  and  ruthless,  something  about  your  appearance  makes  people  hesitant  to  approach  you  and  even  more  wary  to  mess  with  you.    using  just  your  appearance,  you  could  get  almost  whatever  you  want.  few  would  dare  question  you,  as  long  as  you  play  to  your  strengths.    if  you're  going  to  say  something  along  the  lines  of  ‘  I'm  so  ugly  no  one  looks  at  me,  that's  why,  blah  blah  blah.  ’    that's  garbage.    first  of  all,  there's  no  such  thing  as  ugly.    only  social  standards,  which  are  dumb.    second,  butterflies  can't  see  their  own  wings.    third,  they  called  medusa  "hideous"  and  look  at  that  picture  up  there!

    a soft laugh drops past his  𝐩𝐢𝐧𝐤 𝐥𝐢𝐩𝐬  as he hugs em back, ignoring the light  CRUNCHING  noise his ribs made at the strength of the vampire’s embrace and the burning of his stitches. he’s gonna miss this big lug, especially after spending the last year goofing around with him. god, emmett really has been a  facet  in his life since they all came back from phoenix. he’s not sure what he’s going to do without him. 

            he hangs on for just a second longer than emmett does, and the smile on his face shines bright—until he sees the  BEAR OF A BOY’S  face. a question bubbles up to his lips, a hitch catches up in his throat.  (there’s something going on here).  beau hasn’t ever seen emmett cry before. ever. the smile on his face turns nervous and his brows furrow. ❝    em… you didn’t mention how long you’re leaving for.   ❞ 

     𝐓𝐇𝐄  𝐌𝐎𝐎𝐍𝐋𝐈𝐆𝐇𝐓  𝐁𝐋𝐄𝐄𝐃𝐒  𝐒𝐈𝐋𝐕𝐄𝐑,  casting  inky  shadows  around  the  panes  of  his  face  as  he,  if  only  for  a  minute,  allows  himself  to  venture  into  forbidden  territory.   damn  jasper.   damn  him  to  hell  for  soiling  a  the  first  good  thing  to  happen  to  this  family  in  decades  with  his  lack  of  self  control.   just  as  quickly,  that  blind  rage  becomes  shame,  guilt  for  even  entertaining  the  notion.   who  was  he  to  place  blame  on  his  brother,  when  he  himself  was  no  stranger  to  the  dreaded  relapse?   when  the  treaty  barring  his  family  from  unleashing  their  darkest  instincts  could  be  traced  back  to  his  own  lapse  in  restraint?

    𝐓𝐑𝐀𝐈𝐋𝐈𝐍𝐆  𝐀  𝐂𝐔𝐑𝐈𝐎𝐔𝐒  𝐅𝐈𝐍𝐆𝐄𝐑𝐓𝐈𝐏  over  hundreds  of  leather-bound  spines,  the  temptation  to  delve  into  one’s  innermost  thoughts  is  much  too  great.   ❝   not  that  we  couldn’t  take  him,  but  i’m  pretty  sure  steffy’d  go  nuclear  if  he  caught  us  thumbing  through  his  life’s  work.   ❞   half-expecting  to  get  knocked  on  his  ass  by  some  ancient  ‘keep  out’  spell,  he  pulls  a  journal  from  the  shelf,  flipping  open  the  front  cover  to  find  stefan’s  neat  script  peering  up  at  him.   ❝   then  again  —  they’re  all  just  sitting  here,  gathering  dust.   almost  like  he’s  begging  us  to  sneak  a  peak.   ❞
