SO, in episode 4 of the anime, I counted around 20 ish students, a little bigger, but close to the right size for a private school class (Usually private schools range 10-20 students per class). I'm still divvying up and putting repeat class members together (like the dog beastman or the freckled Ignihyde student with his hair covering his eyes), but the number I think is in the 20s somewhere.

Then I looked at the student numbers in game and Sebek's number, because his last name starts with Z, is 33. That means there are 32 other students in his class. Which made no sense to me because NRC is modeled on private schools, particularly UK ones and 33 is like close to DOUBLE their usual class sizes.

But... I forgot that Japan has a larger class cap than like US or UK with some high school classes being from 35-40 students per class. 😫 So, I'm trying to math out how many students are just going to NRC and if the classes are evenly divvyed amongst Classes A-E, that's 165 first year students entering NRC minimum.

Which makes for more math because the novelization (which I treat as Diet Canon or Canon-Lite since it's not directly written by Yana Toboso) says that 1/10 of humans can use magic and it's rarer for humans to have enough magic to go to NRC. It's not talking fae or beastfolk or merpeople, just humans.

So if human magic is 10% of the human populace, what's the ratio for beastfolk? Merpeople? Fae? Also, what about people like Sebek who are mixed? We know Sebek was really nervous because he was a late bloomer. Is it common for half-fae to have no magic or very weak magic? Or do they have magic, but it just doesn't always measure up to faerie magic because of the human half just not having the same level of magical strength as fae? Is it a spectrum?

Anyways, coming back from that little off-tangent, I wish the world building blocks of Twisted Wonderland were more concrete? I really wish they gave us more because trying to figure out classmates for Class 1-A and finding Disney nods from each movie depending on their house is such a headache.

Heartslabyul and Diasomnia aren't too hard, both the Queen of Hearts and Maleficent have a plethora of underlings to pull from given Lilia was pulled from this little guy. (Also Baur and Sebek's inspiration is right next to him which makes me smile at the small details Toboso pulled from.)

But then you got others like Pomefiore where trying to figure out what to pull besides the Poisoned Apple and the Queen's Huntsman is a headache. Sure, you can pull from the Queen's raven and the vultures that follow her and later scavenge her corpse, but there's just so much you can pull from there. I mean, there's a plethora of other Disney with Disney antagonists/villains to choose from, but goodness gracious there's so much digging to be done.

Like in my TWST fanfic, One Last Hope, I don't expect to note down every classmate's name in Class 1-A, but I do expect Kora to know more than just Ace, Deuce, and Grim. Yes, those three are who she's closest to, but she should know OTHERS who are not part of the main 22 students who's cards we collect. Like not besties, but friendly enough that you can get along for a school assignment, you know?

I'm guessing I should average a class of 35 students, but maaaaan, that means I'm gonna have to average out how much of each dorm is in Class A, come up with 32 Disney inspired names for Crewel doing morning attendance and mark down which house I put them under for and what character or item I pulled them from for later notes...

Back in your world, you had a grumpy, mischievous, and hungry cat that you found in the trash and decided to foster, and later on you adopted him because no one wanted him. You were broke, and struggling, but you always bought the most expensive cat food in the pet store because that was the only thing that your cat wanted, and you couldn't let him starve— no matter how many meals you had to skip because of that, you would rather starve than ever see your cat go hungry or even upset.

So when you got transported in twisted wonderland, you were really distressed about the condition of your cat back in your world— "please I have to go home! My cat can't sleep without me" you begged the mirror, "how will he eat now?" You mumbled when the mirror revealed that it didn't find such a place here.

You missed your fatass cat.

"Who will take care of Grim? He won't let anyone touch him unless it's me! Please! Just let me go home!"

And ultimately, you gave up.

But a peculiar Tanuki looking creature broke in mid-begging and broke your concentration.

He introduced himself as Grim.

Deja vu hit you like a truck when he introduced himself. And as he continued to wreck havoc on the school, you can't help but think that "this is exactly how my cat will act if he could breath fire" you snorted.

When Grim broke in again in the courtyard. Your heart kept tugging on it's heartstrings when you pinned it to the ground with your broom— you ignored it, thinking that you just found him cute. But, as you two spent more time together, and ultimately ended up as a student in NRC. This tugging kept on happening, and everytime, you can't help but think 'is this some kind of soulmate thing?'— and yeah, you've read about soulmates before, but this little Tanuki can't be your soul mate right?

Grim, before his life with you, was meek, boring, and very miserable. He had to hunt scraps to eat, sometimes he starved, and sometimes people threw stones at him. So when he met you, he had this unexplainable feeling that you two were meant to meet together, fated to be stuck together as you ventured in this unfamiliar world, and as Grim got used to the unfamiliar social constructs and magic stuff.

'That doesn't make sense' he thinks. 'Me and my henchhuman never met before, so why do I have this feeling that we did?'

He asked you about it while you two were studying in the library— well, while you were studying and Grim was on his belly on your lap getting pets and all. Because that's how it always been, you even enabled his spoiled behaviors— much to your friends protests: you would reward him for doing the bare minimum, feed him expensive tuna while you essentially starved, and you would also keep him cleaned when you could barely do that without help.

"Henchhuman" he called out to you while you rubbed circles on his belly, you hummed as you read through your textbooks. "What do ya' call a feeling where: ya' feel like ya've met someone before even though ya' have never met this person in all your life"

You stopped for a second before you effortlessly replied. "I think that's called Deja Vu" he nodded in response.

"Y'know..." You continued "in my world, they say that if you experience Deja Vu with a person, it means that you are soulmates?" "What's that?" He asked gruffly as you continued to pet his fur and occasionally brush it using your fingers.

"Soulmates are two people that are together in every universe— or world"

He went quiet for a moment.

"Do ya' think we're soulmates?" You smiled and glanced down then pinced his chubby cheeks— probably from all the snacking he'd do during class that you would enable.

"wha- HEY!-" "of course I do" you chuckled. He huffed then settled down on your lap before purring. "Of course we are! Ya' would never survive without me"

You laughed and patted his head. "Hmmm... Of course I won't, you little fattie" you mumbled the last part with a snicker.

A friend of mine was having trouble making reference sheets for her characters, so I made quite a few!

Here's my artfight! I really hope I get to attack some of the people that actually used my template, that would be so cool!

Im not even gonna lie to you i just do sprite edits for the guys cuz most of the assets are already in existing characters, but for my yuus i draw them from scratch

For the shading and stuff i just get a high quality sprite that has the same sorta hairstyle as the characters i have and try and follow it

If the proportions look off i just overlay a sprite and try to adjust it to the same proportions as the twst character
