Context: Being a decent person is quite a rare thing in NRC and many of the students there wanted to have some time with you, but your inner circle of friends won't let that slide at all. Here are some of their reaction to someone bothering their time with you.

Thanks for following the second series with such feverâ like damn. I'll be back for more in... who knows really, please don't expect much! Rosie is just one person :3
Instead of Yuu or the Reader being from another world altogether, how about them being from an alternative reality, but instead of the canon cast, It's their beta design version.
Yuu taking a double look at the rule-breaking riddle they know in their world vs. a strict rule-binding riddle they came to know.
I don't know if this was addressed already but how many fae types have we seen or heard of so far?
Off the top of my head, the two main classifications of fae seem to be nocturnal fae and diurnal fae, and there are several other kinds of fae that fall under each. Here is what I can recall:
All fae have pointed ears.
According to Malleus, fae like to play tricks all year round.
Depending on the subspecies of fae, they may have additional traits or powers.
Some fae can make their own magic, as well as absorb magic from nature to use.
Generally, fae govern certain natural elements such as fire or water.
Fae primarily rely on magic for everyday things.
Fae infants drink nectar instead of milk.
It takes fae 30 years to learn how to walk.
Few fae nowadays know their native tongue.
They are capable of infusing their speech with magic to help other fae understand them. Each subspecies seems to speak its own dialect.
Non-fae often cannot speak or understand fae, as their hearing is not as sensitive.
In addition to heightened hearing and sight, fae appear to have heightened strength.
Some areas of high magic concentration, such as Mount Dread, empower fae while weakening humans.
The Sunset Savannaâs value of living in harmony with nature made it suitable for fae to live in, since fae are attuned to nature.
đ Nocturnal fae
Nocturnal fae, at least in Briarland, use the phrase âNightâs blessingsâ as a term for good luck or wishing others well.
~250 years ago to modern day, more countries are granting travel permits to nocturnal fae, and previous hostilities are a thing of the past.
Nocturnal fae have many yet-to-be-named subclassifications; for example, both Lilia and Sebek's mother and grandfather are considered nocturnal fae but Lilia resembles a bat/ and Sebek's family resembles crocodiles.
The Zigvoltsâ specific subspecies have not yet been formally named to us. Their subspecies is known for having scales and a strong bite.
Lilia says that "his kind" of fae can live up to 1000 years. It is said in book 7 that he is a bat fae, which may explain his weakness to the sunlight.
The language of the nocturnal fae sounds like animalistic snarls, grunts, and growls to the human ear.
Dragon fae (Dragon fae are also most likely a subspecies of nocturnal fae, which are said to be at the âtopâ of the nocturnal fae hierarchy.
Malleus, as well as the Draconia line, are dragon fae; they are descended from actual dragons. Their bloodline is said to be powerful to ensure that nothing should ever diminish the smiles of their people.
Malleusâs mother was considered the pride of nocturnal fae.
Dragon fae are considered babies at 200 years old, teenagers at 500 years old, and adults at 1000 years old.)
Dragon fae eat meat off the bone and fish as infants.
Dragon fae are born as dragons and learn to shift into human forms later.
Dragon eggs need love and magic from parental figures in order to hatch.
Lilia, Malleus, and Sebek demonstrate enhanced senses. Lilia and Malleus also have enhanced physical abilities (strength, speed, etc.)
It is implied that fae in the Briar Valley are nocturnal fae. Additionally, silver hair is more common for nocturnal fae. Blonde hair is not common.
Itâs hard for nocturnal fae to wake up in the mornings. Sebek tells us that most of them only wake after the sun goes down.
âď¸ Diurnal fae
They do not get along with nocturnal fae and fear them.
They are more secluded from human that Malleus or Lilia.
Silver describes them as kindhearted and willing to protect you until the end if you befriend one.
They are also skittish and wary of outsiders. They can be harsh if non-diurnal fae invade their events.
They enjoy flowery things.
Every spring, they hold a fashion show to welcome the season. There is a new theme every year. If the Fairy Gala does not occur smoothly, it could plunge Twisted Wonderland into an extended winter.
The Fairy Queen from Fairy Gala is considered a diurnal fae.
Pixies are a smaller type of fae that fall under the "diurnal" category; they speak in a language which sounds like bell-like tinkling.
Faelanders wear white in their infancy.
Pixies use fairy dust to help them fly. They keep themselves coated in the stuff at all times and perceive others covered in fairy dust as fellow fae.
Faelanders treasure fairy dust so much that they have official Dustguards to protect it.
Pixies hold the Fairy Gala in a selected venue. The event ushers in the spring by showing off trendy fashion. There is a different theme every year. If the small faeâs wrath is incurred, spring will never come.
Pixies are usually associated with the various elements of nature so there are fire pixies, water pixies, and flora pixies.
We also see crafting pixies (those are the ones with blonde hair and leafy clothes), which fix items and can make a special bell which translates pixie speech.) The leader of the craft fairies is named Macy.
Silver and his family were blessed by three guardian fairies; it is implied they have golden hair due to a blessing from diurnal fae.
Young Silver mentions that oak tree fairies told him about how acorn charms bless others with a long, healthy life.
An honorable mention goes to dwarves, which were suggested to be a kind of fae. In 5-55 of the main story, Yuu thinks the Seven Dwarves are a type of fae because of their pointed ears:
However, even if you select the bottom option itâs not confirmed that the dwarves are a type of fae until a few chapters later (5-59) by Jamil.
Itâs not stated whether dwarves are diurnal, nocturnal, or neither. Based on just aesthetic alone, Iâd guess diurnal.
Malleus states in Fairy Gala that there are light fae and thistle fae, which I assume are diurnal but we donât have confirmation of this.
In Endless Halloween Night, Epel was possessed by a ghost claiming to be âLollipop the Candy Fairy from the Land of Sugarâ. Iâm not sure if this is an actual fairy or not.
racist white canadians and europeans want you to believe the slave trade worked like this
it did not. it is public knowledge the slave trade worked like this
and in fighting antiblackness within canada and europe it is so so so important to acknowledge these places's participation in and benefit from the transantlantic slave trade. Slavery is not just the US's dirty past, it is a triangular industry lasting centuries that white people in the united states, canada, and europe benefitted from and continue to benefit from to this day. Slavery was good for white canadians and white europeans. They liked it. they encouraged it. they had slaves, they profited from the slave trade, and they used products grown from US slave labour in every day life. The slavery of Black people would not have been possible on the sheer scale at which it happened if it were not for active, consistent participation from europe and canada.

yknow what this whole convo makes me wanna deep dive into rook's character (I've been only Silver-Idia centered since day 1 playing <and lil sprinkles of Ortho-Lilia-Sebek-Malleus)
This is such an unoriginal idea, but I really like the concept of Yuu not speaking the common language in Twisted Wonderland.
Word count: 2k+
Warnings: Gender neutral reader, bad writing, shit fic. 2nd person pov
Pairing: Various characters x reader
Sorry I've been gone...
It was something you should have expected, really. Getting transported to a whole new world filled with magic and new species is something entirely on its own. So why would you expect to be able to speak their language? Or for them to speak your own?
In all fairness, no one expects to be able to understand a floating cat that has the ability to breathe fire. You could only stare up at the small monster as he looks down at you. Nothing but blank stares and foreign words being shared between the two of you. You had later learned that his name was Grim. Or something like that. It had taken a while before he finally understood that you werenât from the island or anywhere in Twisted Wonderland really. As if not having magic was hard enough, you also couldnât speak with anyone eitherâŚ
Heartslaybul:
It had been a few weeks since you joined NRC that Ace learned to understand youâŚor to the best of his abilities. Everyone knows heâs not the brightest but they couldnât help but respect him for his determination. Perhaps itâs because you two spend a lot of time together or because heâs known you the longest but heâs really the only one who understands you.Â
âUhhâŚAce?â Cater laughs nervously as you throw a few nonsensical terms at him in a tone he understands to be enthusiastic. He looks over his shoulder at the 1st year whoâs helping Trey in the kitchen, a desperate look in his eyes as he silently pleads for help. âWhat are they saying?â
Both Ace and Trey look up in unison.Trey only gives a small laugh before he goes back to icing the freshly baked cupcakes for the tea party later. Ace sighs and dusts off his hands before walking over to the pair. âHey,â he stops in front of you with crossed arms. âWhatâs going on?â
You look up at Ace for a few seconds, almost as if youâre processing what he said. Then suddenly, in a flurry of words and some hand motions, you spoke animatedly about whatever it was. There were a few words in the common language thrown in there, some Ace had taught you in order to help you out a bit, that Cater and Trey half understood given your accent. Ace nodded along the whole time, giving a few âuh huhsâ and âyeahsâ whenever you paused. It felt like a whole ten minutes before you stopped and stared at Ace, nothing but hope in your eyes as he thought long and hard about what you said.
It took a while before he turned to Cater with a serious yet casual look on his face, âthey want to film a video with you. Something about the latest trend going around about a dance?â
Cater stared at Ace in shock. âHow did youâŚ,â he looked between Ace and you for a bit before standing up straighter. Slowly, he smiled and held up his phone. âDoesnât matter! Come on, letâs go through the trends to see which one you want.â
You nodded along with a smile on your face before following him. Ace sighed as he watched you leave, knowing you had no idea what Cater just said but youâre just happy to be included. He turns and walks back to the counter next to Trey. Silently, he continues to cut the strawberries he was working on earlier as he thought about how to help you. Trey looked at him with a knowing smirk but decided not to say anything, heâll tell Riddle later how much Ace has grown since the first day.
Savanaclaw:
You rushed down the crowded hallway and against the flow of traffic, occasionally bumping into other students as they tried to head to lunch. Most of them walked out of your path when they saw the anxious look on your face. All but one.
âHey,â Leona suddenly appeared out of nowhere. You practically jumped when he grabbed your shoulders and stopped you in the middle of the hallway. More students walked around and a few of them stared but he didnât care, not when the foreign 1st year he came to tolerate looked panicked. âWhatâs wrong?â
As if you understood you started talking at a hundred words per minute in a frantic tone. You looked over his shoulder as if looking for someone before turning back to him and spoke even faster. He could only stare at you with a pinched expression as he caught some familiar words but most sounded otherworldly. âSlow down,â he growled, which caused you to stop. âWhat or who are you looking for?â
You stayed silent for a bit before taking a small step back. He watched with a raised eyebrow before pausing when he saw you motion with your hands. As if you were playing a game of charades, you raised your hands to mimic a pair of animal ears and a tail. He watched with increasing amusement as you made a claw motion with your hands before smirking, âJack? Is that who youâre looking for?â
You nodded as soon as you heard the familiar name. A wave of relief washed over you now that someone somewhat understood you. Leona chuckled quietly before wrapping an arm around your shoulders. âCome on,â he led you down the hallway, âIâll lead you to him.â
Octavinelle:
âFloyd! Where-what are they doing?â Azul sighed as he walked out of his office and stopped next to Jade. The pair watched as Floyd and you stared at each other in silence. No words were said except for the occasional change in the two of your guys' expressions as if a joke was said, which only caused customers to run away.
âI believe theyâre talking,â Jade said in amusement. A slow smirk coming to his lips brought a hand up to cover his laugh. âTheyâve been like this for half an hour now, ever since the Prefect came in.â
Azul sighed as he pinched the bridge of his nose. He took a slow deep breath before walking over and interrupting the moment. âFloyd,â he spoke through gritted teeth as he looked from you to the twin. âWhatâs going on?â
Floyd snapped out of his trance and turned to Azul. A toothy smile graced his face as he rubbed the back of his neck. âHuh? Oh, shrimpy and I were talking.â
âWere you,â Azul sighed as heard Jade laughing in the background. He glanced at you and saw the clueless expression you always seem to wear when other people were talking. âOf course you two understand each other," he muttered before deciding to walk away from the situation all together.Â
The two of you watched Azul walk away before looking back at each other. Once again, no words were said but there was a complete understanding between the two of you.Â
Scarabia:
A rich aroma filled the kitchen as the sun began to set in Scarabia. You watched with your chin on your arms as Jamil cooked dinner. There was a comfortable silence between the two of you and a relaxing atmosphere that he wasnât quite used to. You stared in awe as he stirred the pot of soup before opening your mouth to speak. Without looking away, Jamil spoke before you could, âyes. You can have some of the vegetables.â
A smile immediately graced your face before you sat up and reached over to the cutting board full of vegetables. The silence continued except for the occasional sound of the stove fire cracking and your chewing. You sat there in bliss, thankful that someone finally understood you without much difficulty.Â
It had been like that between Jamil and you for a while. A relationship that bloomed through food over the course of a few weeks. When everyone else tried to avoid you or simply ignored you, he stood there and gave you your favorite meal even though you had never told him.Â
Jamil watched as you ate happily. He looked back down at the soup in the pot as he continued to stir the liquid. He knew you enjoyed these moments and the other times he gave you food. He knew you enjoyed the fact that he seemed to understand you. He just didn't have the heart to tell you it was due to trial and error by giving you new foodsâŚ
Pomefiore:
You were in twisted wonderland for only two weeks, three days, and seven hours before Rook had somehow learned your entire language. Well, language through actions and the occasional phrases you would let out when trying to speak to someone.Â
He was intrigued the moment he first saw you at the ceremony and heard the foreign dialect on your tongue. He listened intently to every syllable and to the tone of everything you said. It was then that he declared you would be his next project.Â
So, over the course of those two weeks he watched. He watched from across the hall, the cafeteria, and even in trees when you didnât know he was looking. He took down notes and memorized the common terms you used and the context you used them in. It was difficult but when Rook is determined he gets things done. It took countless hours before he felt confident in speaking to you directly. So he did.Â
It felt like a random day when you were walking down the hallway and accidentally bumped into him. You turned and saw the random student and spoke up politely in your own language, âsorry.â You gave a small smile in hopes he understood your intentions before going to turn around.
âItâs okay,â Rook spoke up in a flawless accent. He smiled when he saw you turn around in shock before continuing. âIt was my fault. I didn't mean to-ah!â
Suddenly, you let out a yell that caused the whole hallway to stop and stare. You grabbed Rookâs hands and started jumping as you spoke enthusiastically, not caring for the stares from your classmates or even Ace and Deuce who watched in shock at the sudden outburst. âYou understand me!â You beamed while jumping even more, âI canât believe it! This is amazing!â
To everyone else you looked crazy as you spoke loud in the unfamiliar language. They watched in shock as you smiled brightly and jumped while holding onto Pomefioreâs weird vice housewarden. Even Ace and Deuce stood in shock because theyâve never seen you like this before. But to Rook? He smiled happily at your excitement and laughed as he gripped your hands just as tightly. âThatâs right!â He laughed before speaking with you, much to everyoneâs surprise. Yeah, he quickly became your favorite..and translator.Â
Ignihyde:
âHold onâŚ,â Idia murmured as he messed with the small box in his hands. He had spent hours trying to build a translator for you. Thanks to Orthoâs help and recordings, he thinks he has it. âThere,â he handed the box to you. âTry it.âÂ
You stared cluelessly at what seemed to be a small speaker before taking it from him. Flipping it over in your hands, you looked from the box to him, before speaking to him. A short sentence came out of the box, much to Idiaâs surprise before it glitched out and went silent again.Â
He groaned loudly and snatched the box from you before grabbing the screwdriver. You watched as muttered quietly in frustration while pulling out wires. Slowly, you moved to sit next to him on his bed and looked over his shoulder to watch him work. He froze as he felt how close you were, a small shade of pink gracing the tips of his hair as he laughed nervously.
âWhat are youâŚ,â he looked at you as he spoke hesitantly before sighing at the look in your eyes. He sighed before going back to fixing the translator as he murmured quietly. âWhy do I bother? There's not a thought behind those eyesâŚâ
There was a comfortable silence between the two of you as he worked. You watched as he worked with a pinched expression before resting your head on his shoulder. He tensed slightly before sighing and grabbing his tablet to fix the coding. Despite the language barrier, Idia had come to like you. Perhaps itâs because he doesnât feel judged by you or because you seem comfortable around him but he came to consider you his best friend. He sighed as he set the tablet aside before glancing at you, âI guess weâll try again tomorrowâŚâ
Diasomnia:
It wasnât the most orthodox method but it did work. The first time Silver went into your dreams it was by complete mistake. He looked around at the neverending grass field before recognizing you on a top of the field. He was only going to stay a minute before he suddenly heard your voice and in a language he understood.Â
âCome here,â you spoke softly to a bunny that approached you. You cooed quietly as the small fluffball before recognizing Silver as he stood next to you. âStrange,â you murmured more to yourself than him, âI usually go through this dream alone.âÂ
He stood there in shock as he heard your words. Usually he would stare at you in confusion whenever you spoke but here he can. Slowly, he sat down next to you and stared down at the bunny in your lap before he spoke up softly, âSorry.â
He watched as your eyes widened before a small smile graced your face. You looked back at the bunny and spoke quietly, âwell if this is the only actual conversation I can getâŚthis dream wonât be so bad.â
You smiled at him before laying down in the grass. He watched for a few moments before laying down next to you. The two of you stared up at the sunny sky, a blissful dream truly. Silver thought silently to himself, if you were that happy to have a conversation then heâll certainly go into your dreams more often.
synopsis after a long, stressful day, you are mending your husband Lilia's uniform jacket when his playful antics finally get on his last nerve and you have an outburst towards him. He reminds you who he is and how low his tolerance is for vulgarity from you in your shared space.
Lilia Vanrouge was known across campus for his playful, childish personality. To the students of NRC, he was just an eccentric vice housewarden who couldn't cook an edible meal. He laughed easily, skipped through the halls, and let the younger generation treat him with a casual familiarity that most likely wouldn't have happened in the old world.
But you were his spouse. You had bound your life to a creature who survived centuries of fae warfare long before the school even existed. You knew the dangerous man behind the playful fangs.
Yet, because he was always so deeply indulgent of you, it was entirely too easy to forget exactly what slept beneath his sunny demeanor. It was easy to forget that while he was a doting husband, he was still an ancient, highranking fae warrior who possessed a deeply hardwired, non negotiable boundary regarding respect.
The slip up happened on an evening inside your private quarters in Diasomnia. You were sitting by the low light of the fire with a needle and thread, carefully mending a tear in the fabric of his formal black uniform jacket. It was meticulous work that required a steady hand. Lilia was fluttering around you like a moth, floating upside down right over your shoulder to playfully tug at the spool of thread, intentionally block your view of the fabric, and chirp about how amusing it would be if you accidentally stitched the sleeve shut. Because you had spent the entire afternoon putting up a front to manage stuff going on arounf campus, he genuinely didn't know your energy was depleted. Had he known you were running on empty, his playful antics would have instantly ceased in favor of doting care.
Instead, completely unaware that your head was throbbing heavily from pure stress, he hovered closer, pulling at the edge of the fabric and nearly causing you to prick your finger deep with the needle. At that moment, the level off irritation you felt completely bypassed your filter.
"Lilia, calm the hell down and please leave me alone for once!â you snapped, aggressively swatting his hands away as you glared up at him. "You're acting like an annoying, needy child while I'm trying to get actual work done. Go find Malleus and play your little games with him, because I am sick of hearing you in my ear right now."
Your words went beyond a simple complaint. They carried a sharp, disrespectful tone that crossed a line you didn't know was there. After all you'd never really talked to Lilia like this before.
The silence that followed was unnerving to say the least
Lilia didn't flinch, and he didn't bounce back with a witty remark. His hands that had been hovering near your work tools simply dropped to his sides.
When you looked up at his face, your heart instantly skipped a beat. The playful, chaotic old man was completely gone.
His face was blank, but you could tell he was displeased. The trademark grin completely vanished, his magenta eyes had narrowed into a subtle glare that made it feel like you were pinned you to your seat.
"Watch your tone, my love." Lilia murmured. His voice wasn't raised, the playful lilt in his accent had basically evaporated. "I believe I have been far too indulgent with you if you think it is acceptable to push me aside, use profanities, and speak to me with such a sharp, ugly tongue."
"Lilia, waitâI didn't mean it like that," you stammered quickly, your voice quick as the sheer gravity of his presence hit you. You dropped the jacket into your lap, your mind scrambling as you tried to explain your outburst. "I'm just so stressed from handling so many different things today, and my head is pounding, and Iâ"
"I understand you are stressed," Lilia cut in, his voice overriding yours, leaving absolutely zero room for excuses. He didn't let you finish the thought, his unblinking gaze holding yours entirely captive. "I understand you have had a long, exhausting afternoon managing the campus affairs. I understand your head is throbbing and your patience is thin. I hear you. But your exhaustion does not give you a license to bring vulgarities into our quarters, nor does it excuse treating your husband with such blatant disrespect."
Before you could move a single inch or say another word, the space between you was gone and lilia was right in front of you.
His pale fingers shot forward, wrapping firmly around your jawline. His grip wasn't brutal enough to bruise your skin, but it was solid, locking your face in place. He used his thumb to force your chin upward, forcing you to look directly into his eyes as he leaned down, hovering mere inches from your face.
"I am your husband, and I love you more than the very heart beating in my chest." Lilia whispered, his gaze piercing through yours as his breath brushed your lips. "I will give you the world. I will listen to your complaints, I will comfort your tears, and I will protect you from every danger on this island that I can see coming your way. But I will never tolerate disrespect or crude language from the mouth of the person who shares my bed. I myself would never speak to you with such foul language, and I expect the exact same courtesy in return. Do you understand me?"
You went completely rigid in his grip, your throat swelling with a sudden, anxious lump as you stared back into those unblinking eyes. You could only nod weakly against the firm pressure of his palm.
"I don't like that sharp tongue of yours when it speaks to me like that." Lilia continued, his voice steady but with warning. "You will not dismiss me like a common servant, and you will not use foul language in our home. If you are tired, you tell me. You do not bite at me."
He paused, letting the suffocating weight of his presence hang over you for a few agonizing seconds longer, tracking the frantic beat of the pulse in your neck. Only when he was entirely satisfied with the sheer amount of genuine submission in your eyes did the heavy tension in the room begin to lift.
Slowly, the look on his face softened, his mouth curving back into its soft smile. He didn't let go of your face immediately but the harshness of his grip melted into a soft, comforting caress. He slid his hand up to cup your cheek, his thumb lightly smoothing over your skin.
"Good." Lilia murmured, his tone finally shifting back into a gentle, familiar warmth as he leaned forward to press a lingering kiss against your forehead. He gently reached down, taking the needle and thread from your fingers and setting them down on the side table before pulling your frame flush against his chest. "Now, take a deep breath. You are exhausted, and your mind is clouded. Lay right here with me, and let your stress melt away."
He held you tightly, his arms wrapping securely around your waist as he guided you over to the couch near the fire. He pulled a thick, knitted blanket over your lap, holding you close against his heartbeat for a long, quiet hour until your breathing finally slowed and the tension completely drained from your shoulders.
"After you have rested properly, and after your mind is clear, you can go back to fixing the jacket." Lilia whispered softly into your hair, his touch tender as his long fingers combed through your locks. "But for right now, youâll sit right here and let me take care of you. Let us leave the sharp words out of our quarters from now on, alright my sweet?"
notes I love lilia sm, we all know he's a playful old man but I personally hc that he's pretty strict abt certain things and this certainly includes respect from his dear lover. also i left the marriage part in the beginning kinda open just bc some ppl have fae OCâs some have human ones so yeah! think of it how u wanna.
is this toxic?? đ toxic lilia đ??? I don't think so but some might, pls be nice. if you don't like my work you're free to scroll or to block me, pls don't send hateful messages/critiques.

It was so relieving when you arrived at NRC after you got over the shock of being stuck in a place against your will. Most of the people there are respectful if not a bit rude and ignorant. It was even more amazing when you realized that here they let you have control of your body.
"This world is a lot nicer than mine." You'd casually say often.
"Obviously, this place is better. We have magic." Is what they used to say while smiling with pride, but now they give you concerned smile whenever you say things like that.
The housewarden's had decided to have a small friendly gathering, just so everyone could chat and fill each other in on things going on in their dorms.
So here they are sitting in the Ramshackle Lounge, scattered across the various seats. On the coffee table in the middle is a kettle of hot water, teacups and mugs and a tray of different tea bags, including, earl grey, peppermint, green, and chamomile.
"Prefect, we have some concerns." Riddle says, having just put an early grey tea bag into his mug of hot water.
"Oh really? What might those be?" You set your teacup down on its saucer.
"You always say that this world is a lot better than yours."
"And?"
"We want to know what the hell is so bad about your world." Leona pipes up, from his spot on the couch.
"We'd be here for days if I even tried to tell you half of it." You pause to take a sip of your tea.
"Some examples?" Azul says from the love seat next to Jade, both sipping on magnolia tea.
"Well there was a lot of talk of making more AI data centers and how much water they were using, there was also the pollution of water, women lost pretty much all their rights in a few countries..." You have your hand on your chin, thinking trying to remember the major issues.
All of their faces just have expressions of shock, horror, disgust and anger. Ruggie, Idia and Kalim's mouths are so open they could catch flies. Vil, Leona and Lilia look horrifically disgusted. Malleus, Jade, Rook look angry, though Jade and Rook are more like a creepy smile angry and Malleus is causing thunder and lightning outside.
But specifically in the country where I'm from, the government pretty much got rid of women's reproductive rights."
"Meaning?" Riddle raises a brow.
"Based on what state you lived in, you couldn't get an abortion or it was limited."
The silence that followed could have been cut with a knife. The lightening and thunder gets louder as rain starts to pour outside.
"I mean what would you expect from a country run by a convicted rapist." You smile, the smile is obviously fake and pained.
"...Your country was run by a criminal? And no one thought to make him step down?" Malleus sets down his teacup, sitting up rather straight as Lilia places a hand on his arm in hopes to calm him down.
"Well, somebody was elected for a little while so we had a small break from him, before he was elected again. He mentioned running for a third term though thankfully he can't based on some laws."
"I honestly don't know why people keep putting old men into positions of power..." You trail off.
"Anyway, I ended up doing a lot of research on reproductive care like IUDs, birth control, and I even looked into doctors who'd tie my tubes before I was like 25."
"Tying your tubes?" Kalim tilts his head, a curious expression on his face.
"It's medical term is tubal ligation, its where a doctor cuts or removes the fallopian tubes." An O shaped expression forms on his lips in understanding.
There's a silence that fills the room, as they process the information. A few of them are nodding.
"So they took that away?" Trey says from his seat on the floor next to the coffee table.
"Not completely, it was only fully banned in...13 states I believe, and the rest have limits except 9 states."
"And how many states are there?" Lilia raises his hand.
"50."
"Shouldn't there be exceptions?"
"Oh some states have exceptions for cases of rape and incest, as well as if the life or health of the patient is at risk, others don't like the state that I lived in."
"Some don't?"
"Yep, and as someone who's biggest fear is being raped that is extremely horrifying."
The rain is practically pounding on the windows, the old dorm's walls are creaking. Everyone looks furious, you could practically see the steam coming from Riddle's ears and the smoke coming from Malleus's nose. Idia is shaking in the corner though that is most likely from the weather outside.
"...Are you okay?" Jamil looks you up and down with concern.
"Physically, I'm great. Mentally? I'm on the verge of murder most days."
"Do you need some counseling?" Idia shuffles back
"Eh probably." You shrug picking your teacup back up and taking a sip.
After a few minutes of talking on a different subject to lighten the mood, the thunder and lightning dim down.
"Y'know we're going to be less inclined to let you return home if Crowely finds you a way back because of that, right?" Leona says, his tail lazily flicking.

đ°A/Nđ°: I woke up from a dream where this happened to me, no lies. I HAD to write it cuz man.. overblots are genuinely terrifying in real life. Leona was the one that spooked me the most. Dude no matter how nice it felt to be in NRC i wanted to go home man..
If you wanna compliment the chef.. likes, reblogs and comments are always appreciated!
Being a magic-less student in a land where everyone had their own unique magic was hard. You never thought you would be in those scenerio of anime where everyone was unique and you were just a nobody.
Still, nobody likes a uselesss nobody..
So you made yourself useful, made friends and tried to understand those around you. You had hoped if you cannot feel helpful by magic you can be helpful as a feelings person. Yeah they DONâT need you but the thought of being a useless no one haunted you.
So it started with Riddle, who you helped him with his problems of control. After living his life for an image he never wanted he thought in order to live ârightâ everything had to be in order. Tough life.. You helped him realize sometimes life is messy, sometimes it rains when you go out, you slip while you walk but itâs those imperfections in life that make it perfect.
You kinda wish you made him realize this without the need of overblotting. Those things were super scary when you first saw it.. blood like ink running down his face with a figure unfamiliar to you.. the fight was hard but you were glad to see your dear friend Riddle smile and laugh in the end.
But whatâs once broken cannot be repaired right? Maybe after Riddleâs first overblot you were more careful on the second one. It was nothing major, you just got quieter when you saw your friends argue. Life was hard in Twisted Wonderland, Crowley was one absent principal.
You missed your family sometimes, your first months here was miserable, yes you had your new friends but this was an environment you never knew existed. In a world where people argued over if religion even existed you were suddenly transported into a world where people could fly on brooms and cast fireball magic. It made you feel like a polar bear standing in the middle of the desert.
Not to mention you had your own friends and own family. You love your new friends but the first few months when you didnât know anyone this was just like preschool day one where itâs your first time without your family around you.
Then the second overblot happened, this time you almost couldâve died. You knew Leona was scary from the first moment youâve seen him. You knew it would end in this when you approached him, still you needed to make yourself useful in one way or another. Crowley was on your ass everyday, threatening telling you that if you didnât take care of a random problem in NRC you would end up losing the only âhomeâ you had.
Leonaâs overblot was scary, so much more scarier than Riddle could ever be. One was a misunderstood teenager and the other was a vengeful adult, not to mention if leona wanted he could turn you into dust without a single effort. You relate to his problems tho, living a life full of comparison was hard. Expectations of others would never leave the person to be themselves, it was always so suffocating.
Maybe thatâs why when Leonaâs overblot was stopped you were starting to get tired. Was this going to happen again? When can you go home?
Everything was okay, at least that what you always told yourself in the mornings. You made more friends, now you had the trust of a royalty. You were useful to people now.. Ace came to you to run from his housewarden, Leona liked laying down with you sometimes.. because you understood him better than everyone.
Crowley never made your job easier and most of your teachers still didnât spare you at exams but it was okay.. Yes sometimes Grim did stuff without thinking again but you would always clean up after him. Youâre his caretaker, if Grim says a snarky mean comment at someone itâs your job to apologize, if Grim eats almost everything you got because heâs greedy itâs okay, you can always buy more as long as your friend is happy.
Was this self sacrificing? Maybe. You never thought about it that way, you just made yourself useful so that Crowley wouldnât kick you, so that you can still have an importance between your friends. Nobody would want to be friends with a magicless homeless nobody. You couldnât offer your friends anything other than your love and care..
Then your trusted friends got themselves in trouble once more. Seriously? The person you share your bed with, Grim, even went behind your back. The morning when you saw the fungi on his head you took a deep breath, you were disappointed and upset. Did he not trust you enough? Why would grim go behind your back like this?
Thatâs how you met the fish trio, weird fellas. You almost found Azul pitiful, under the facade of being a very confident person you could see the doubt in his eyes. Thatâs also how you lived your life too, it is funny you always saw yourself in these people.
Once again you were given the choice to save your friends and so many others and you took it. You were going to save them.. even if they go behind your back.
Maybe this wasnât the best idea.. because when the everything Azul had planned was shattered right before his eyes, his control got broken he felt powerless. All the hard work he had done was crumbling right before his eyes. He started crying, those inky tears, like the other two and you tensed.
You donât like the ocean anymore, you donât like looking at the dark blue sea. You donât know how your friends can act like nothing had happened. You guessed..for them this was just a little extreme.. but for you it was adrenaline pumping everytime. You remember how after all three overblots when you reached your bed you lost your balance each time and fell. The adrenaline rush was extremely painful when it was done and gone.
You overheard Crowley sometimes, he always liked talking about how he was the best. You wish you had the same confidence.. You used to hate Crowley but now you disliked him.. you were a lost kitten in the wild, you needed an adult figure and he (unfortunately) was one of them. You disliked how he always gave you work yes but you would still find him to ask for an allowance. He was the one giving you the food you needed, the bed you rested on.. maybe it was stockholm or maybe it was genuine care you had for him.
Woah how was Kamil in NRC again? Not to shade your friends but this school was full of people who would burn each other if it meant an extra two marks on their test. Kindness was never given for free and smiling with this much joy always meant someone was up to something but to your surprise.. Kalim was joyful in general⌠or maybe he wasnât you can never be certain with these people.
The moment you met Jamil you knew this road was leading to another overblot. You knew how shitty it felt when you were the shadow of someone, letting them take all the light while you stand in the cold. So maybe thatâs why you werenât so suprised when Jamil snapped. You tensed of course but your face was one of tiredness. Your job as a janitor/student in NRC was now a professional overblot handler.
Jamil wasnât that scary, well he was terrifying of course but unlike Riddle(where it happened for the first time) or Leona(you almost could die) Jamil was pretty.. tame. You did your best to help Kamil and Jamil with their relationship, to make Jamil accept that he was still his own person. He doesnât need to live a life in the shadows and that Kalim thinks theyâre genuine friends.
After this fourth overblot there was obvious changes in you that your friends always failed to notice. You got quieter when people argued, you were probe to others touching you and a students pencil ink accidentally popping and making your desk this black color made you freeze.
This overblot in particular made you scared.. can you trust the people around you as well? Kalim trusted Jamil and you trusted those around you.. can you trust anyone? Didnât they betrayed you once with Azul?
Vil looked beautiful when you first saw him, it made you look down on yourself. Vil was the reason you met Epel, one of your close friends. You understood both Vil and Epel.. being the best version of yourself was important but going this far was quite.. too much.
The whole adventure with Vil and Rook was a roller coaster of emotions. You couldnât feel less superior as you watched Vil point imperfections on you, on others.. Rook scared you a lot but more friends meant more friends.
Then once again just like you predicted an overblot happened. You understood Vil, always trying your best for the same results of losing was frustrating. No matter what you do and what you change it was the same ending nonetheless, you know like those games where no matter what dialogue you picked the character replied the same nonetheless.
As the human nature goes after four overblots you got used to it, thatâs why as Vil stood there in all his twisted glory you didnât feel as afraid. You were tired or maybe you just wanted to go home.
Once again you helped your friends, made Vil realize that he was the best on his own way. Life is not a competition you cannot be better than someone when everyone is different and unique on their own.
You were quite popular now, a bunch of different friends and apparently you were also the friend of the highly fear inducing Malleus Draconia. You donât remember when this many people depended on you.
You were glad to help of course but you felt like you were drowning everyday. People around you arguing made you scared, you were afraid to look into mirrors to see what you had become. You felt tired but smiled for others.
You donât think your friends use you, no, you know better than that. You just wish to have a single person see your efforts maybe.. you deal with this stupid school and live in a dumpster. You donât think you can handle anymore overblots. You just want to go home.
When you first met the Idia you felt a sense of sympathy.. being insecure was hard. You knew how it felt to blame yourself for things in the past.. moving on was hard.
He was quite the loner but you understood. Losing a loved one over an accident is hard but it was never the fault of two young boys who just wanted to adventure.
When you saw Ortho and Idia connect together once again you smiled, youâre glad to connect people together. Once again you were safe and sound.. well maybe Vil wasnât. He still looked quite handsome as an old man..
Out of all the overblots maybe Idiaâs overblot was once you were glad that it happened. You did your job once again. You, a magicless nobody, connected two brothers together.
You know Crowley always lied when you asked him if he was researching to get you back home. As you sat awake in your bed you wondered.. what if Crowley never manages to get you back? What will happen to your life there? Your friends here will graduate and move on one day.. unless one of them takes you with them youâre bound to this lonely house like the ghosts.
Your thoughts get interrupted by one horned housewarden, Malleus Draconia. You always thought he was quite the loner, more lonely than even Idia. You may tell yourself itâs mean everyone thinks he is a scary dragon but if you knew his name before befriending Malleus you would also probably stay away.
Still, youâre friends with him.. he considers you his only true friend even. Thatâs why you feel sad sometimes.. one day you will go home and they will all be left behind. Well you never belonged here anyways. You always feel weird in this magical world.
When Malleus overblots youâre so tired.. at this point all people you met and made friends with had lost their minds one way or another. You wonder if the problem lies within you?
Witnessing all these different dramatic dreams of people was making you lose your mind. Youâre so tired.. youâre so tired but you cannot leave your friends.. you need to help your friends. Come on (name) one more time all over again..
When the Diasomnia guys cry and hug each other after the overblot you sit still. Grim thinks youâre still shaken up by all that happened but itâs just you zoning out. You donât feel⌠normal. Maybe itâs the magic slowly making its way to your body. Humans are known to adapt to their situations.. you feel this unknown feeling crawling inside your body, making its way through your veins. You want to go homeâŚ
Just like that you donât think there is anyone that can overblot anymore. Even if they are you donât think youâre going to befriend anyone else anymore. You plan on hanging out with your current friends until Crowley finds a way to get you back home. Oh that reminds youâŚ
You see Crowley talking to someone through the mirror in his room, you knock the door two times before making your way inside. Grim walks behind you, heâs quiet. Grim noticed the way you were.. weirder today. Maybe it was the lack of sleep you got or the weird dreams you kept having.
Youâre about to speak when you hear Crowley say something amongst the lines of âOh of course Night Raven Collage dealt all student overblots in the most professional way. You donât need to thank us, it was our duty after all..â. Your eye twitch, âourâ? You were the one who were stopping those overblots.. you did it for your friends while this stupid Crowley went around doing nothing. What professional manner? You were a magicless student who was thrown into these almost death inducing overblots..
Grim grabs the hem of your pants and tugs, âey henchhuman.. ya okay..?â. You cannot hear Grim, youâre so tired.. itâs okay. You donât care, after youâre gone from this world Crowley can take all the credit he wants.. you just want to go home.
Crowley is seemed to get disturbed by Grimâs voice because he turns around and smiles âOh how may i help?â. You take a deep breath and ask him if he had done literally ANYTHING to get you back home. This seems to make him panic, like he was expecting anything but that.. itâs almost like he completely forgot about it. Your eye twitches and your body feels.. weird. Were you sweating? Why did your clothes feel.. wet?
Crowley seems to notice the weird shift in you and tries to calm you down, âO-Oh of course your humble principal didnât forget about it!! Uhm.. we still havenât found anything.. yet..â. You want to cry, you want to throw up. Grim seems to pull on your pants even more âH-Henchuman..ya sure you okay..? Uhm.. youâre crying.. black tears.â
This makes you pause and wipe your eyes.. oh you were really crying and it was actually black.. ink tears? Were you overblotting? But you canât. Youâre a magicless nobody after all.. if you overblot who is going to stop it? Itâs your job to stop overblots right? You should run away. You should Run AwayâŚ
RUN AWAY.
You cry and cry feeling like hours past.. no one comes by. Of course they donât..
You donât know where youâre going, you donât know how youâre doing all this but you donât want to be a burden to anyone. The school had enough overblots. Grim and Crowley yell after you but you donât hear anything, you run away and hide in the first places where you first saw the black gems. You cry, you can feel your body shifting, can you even call this body yours? You had never done magic but now you were being overwhelmed by it.
You fail to notice all your friends are trying to reach you but you, not knowing you have magical powers right now, had created a barrier thatâs blocking them from reaching you. A magicless nobody had the magic so many strong mages cannot compare to huh.. maybe thatâs how your life will end, pushing everyone away from you to deal with your burdens alone.

Hi! I'd really love jamil with a reader he doesn't realise is arab (as in they're still from another world but from the one of the middle Eastern counties) and understand whenever kalim or jamil speak Arabic!

"Are you alright up there?" "Yep! I'm fine, Jamil!"
You called back to him as you stood on the ladder. The party decorations were too high for you or Jamil to reach on your own.
Usually these decorations would get taken down with magic, but Jamil's pen wasn't on him at the moment, left in the drawer of his room. And with the party clean-up crew being just you, the only magic less student, and him, he decided to bust out the good old ladder.
It hadn't been used a lot; the thing was old, rusty, and not very stable on its own. Jamil held the bottom while you took the decor down. It's not that he didn't trust you to hold it stable. He just had trouble trusting in general.
"Andâ done!" You chirped before rushing to get down. Although you felt safe with Jamil, it was still pretty high up. The boy recognized this and shot you a small, sly smirk. "Scared of heights, Prefect?"
With a roll of the eyes, you responded by giving him an unamused look. "No. I'm just not used to being up that high."
A chuckle escaped his lips as he took the decorations from your hands, moving to put them back in their boxes. "Yeah. Totally."
If his smug grin wasn't enough to show that he didn't believe you, the sarcasm in his voice was. You let out a quiet groan. His smile only widened at that as he sealed the last box. "Come on. These go in the third storage room." He murmured, picking up a few boxes before motioning for you to follow.
There were five boxes; he carried three and left two for you to grab. Picking it up, you were quick to trail behind him.
Scarabia held so many parties that they needed multiple storage rooms. Of course, for someone as rich as Kalim, that wasn't a big deal. He could easily pay for a thousand more rooms and still be among the wealthiest in NRC.
"Too heavy?" Jamil's voice snapped you out of your thoughts. His tone was a mixture of teasing and actual concern. You shook your head, adjusting the boxes in your hands. "I'm fine. Let's just keep goingâ" "Nonsense."
Before you could react, Jamil easily took ahold of one of the boxes you carried. You pouted. "That's way too much for you to carry! C'mon, give it back."
He raised a brow at your words, his sly little grin coming back. "You're not underestimating me, are you?"
A scoff left yours lips. "I'd never dream of it."
With that, you decided to just let it be as he carried the four boxes with ease through the dormitory's hallways. Once the two of you made it to the room, you practically ran in front of him to open the door. He let out an amused huff, walking in and setting down the decorations.
There were other boxes set down beside it from earlier. The middle of the room had about 30 of these. On the walls of the rooms were a ton of shelves that carried even more boxes. You wondered just how many different decorations Scarabia owned.
"These shouldn't be too hard to organize." Jamil gestured you to come next to him. "See the color label? Just put the boxes with their matching colors."
Very simple. If you had to guess, Jamil was the one who thought of this system. The way he put back the boxes seemed like second-nature; knowing exactly what went where and barely looking at the colors on the boxes.
Grabbing a few boxes with the green label, you helped put them away. Pushing them on the proper shelf, you couldn't help but notice text written on the shelf's green label. â?ŮاŮتات اŮباŮŮŮâ
Jamil perked up at your words, his head whipping back to look at you. There was a hint of surprise in his gaze. "Correct. I didn't know you could read that. Your pronunciation is far better than most foreigners too."
You smiled, his praise making you a bit giddy. "I had a language just like that in my world! It means 'balloon banners', right?"
He blinked in surprise at that, setting down the box in his hand with a hum. "Yeah, it does. It's my native tongue. Kalim's as well."
Jamil curiously glanced toward the red label on the shelf he was at before looking back at you. "Come here. I want to test something."
He had you going around the room, reading the different labels. To his shock, you read them all with perfect pronunciation and knew the meaning of each one. Jamil seemed very impressed, observing you curiously.
â٠اذا تؚع٠أŮ؜اŘâ
(What else do you know?) He narrowed his eyes, trying to gauge your response.
âŮŮŮŮ ŮŮŮ٠٠ا ŘŞŮŮŮŮŘâ
(Enough to understand what you're saying?) You replied with a shrug. It felt bizarre to speak to someone in Arabic again after so long... But bizarre in a good way. The interaction made you feel a little more normal.
It was easy to feel alienated here at NRC. Not that the boys purposely tried to, a lot of people like Ace and Deuce made you feel welcomed. Still, you couldn't help but feel like you didn't belong. Especially considering the fact that you couldn't speak the language you grew up with to your friends.
But now... Excitement filled your bones. You're not sure if the Arabic in your world and the Arabic in Twisted Wonderland are exactly the same. But now that you knew there were similarities? Oh, you were going to learn as much as you could.
The next hour or so consisted of either you or Jamil saying something and seeing if the other person knew what it was. To both of your delights, the language was the same.
(Who would've known Arabic was so... universal.) He mused, a tiny but genuine smile appearing on his lips âŮŮŘł ŘŁŮŮŮ ŘŁŘ´ŘŞŮŮ.â (Not that I'm complaining.)
Jamil let his hands slip into his pockets, watching as you put the last box away. You let out a little laugh. Seeing his real, authentic smile as opposed to his usual forced one made your heart flutter ever so slightly. "Surprise! Waitâ You hate surprises, don't you?"
It had been a few days after Jamil had learned you spoke Arabic. Admittedly, he'd been texting you more frequently now in his native language. It felt good to speak it with someone other than Kalim.
Speaking of the boy, Jamil was currently sitting across from him. He needed help memorizing a few terms for Professor Crewel's class. Easy enough.
He had made him a few flash cards; one side having the word and the other the definition. Jamil, used to taking the role of the tutor, was quizzing him. And it was as frustrating as ever.
"Kalimâ are you even trying?" "I am! These words are just so tricky though. Ah, I don't know if I'll ever get them right."
With a restrained sigh, Jamil put a hand on the young Al-Asim's shoulder and reassured him that he'd get it eventually. He was lying through his teeth as per usual. Despite his best attempts, Kalim always struggled with the most bare-bones concepts. It made Jamil want to bash his head in.
Before his violent thoughts could linger any longer, a comforting voice soon reached his ears.
"Are you guys studying for Crewel's test too?" You walked toward the pair with a smile. "Mind if I join?"
Having you around made the study session so much more bearable to Jamil. He'd shoot you tiny, apologetic looks when he'd have to pause the session to explain something to Kalim. You never seemed to mind, always returning his gaze with a shrug.
"What does it mean when that mixture starts bubbling?" "Again, it indicates that it is poisonous."
Kalim furrowed his brows, really trying to understand. "Wait, but I thought you said that flashing colors meant it was poisonous?"
The Viper looked tired as he explained for the umpteenth time. "Two things can be true at once. Both are indicators of poison."
(There are a lot of signs for poison.) You murmured under your breath, your words barely audible. However, it seemed like Kalim picked it up and immediately perked up. An excited glint appeared in his eyes as he leaned closer to you with that bright smile of his.
"You speak Arabic!?" "Yeah, I doâ!" Your words quickly got muffled by Jamil putting a hand over your mouth. "No. No they don't. You can't assume every foreign language is our language, Kalim."
The white-haired boy tilted his head in confusion. "But I could've sworn I heard...?" Jamil shook his head. "May we get back to studying now?"
"Oh right! I almost forgot that's what we were doing!" Kalim was quick to drop the topic.
Yet, as the session continued, now you couldn't help but send Jamil curious glances. It seemed like he was purposefully ignoring them. Your mind replayed the interaction over and over. Why would he lie about that? It's not like you speaking Arabic put you or Kalim in harms way, so why would he...?
"Prefect, are you alright?" Jamil's voice cut through your thoughts. Your gaze lingered on his. "Yeah... fine."
He looked away, continuing to help Kalim with something as you too turned back to the book in front of you. Trying to figure Jamil out was always difficult, even as you got closer to him. Your phone buzzed in your pocket, causing you to swiftly take it out to peek at who texted you.
You looked up after reading the text only to find Jamil already staring at you with pleading eyes. Hesitantly, you nod.
He sent you a wink before refocusing on whatever Kalim was saying.
.
.
You almost forgot about the whole situation entirely. The study session lasted another hour or so before the three of you decided to end it there. It was getting dark anyways. Packing your bag, you waved them goodbye as you headed back to your dorm.
At Ramshackle, you continued with your usual night routine. Feeding Grim, dusting the shelf that miraculously got dust on it after a day, chatting with the ghosts, finishing up any homework from the day...
A knock rung through the dorm. It was right before you were about to fall asleep. Grim was already out like a light and you briefly considered just not answering. But for some reason, you felt compelled to get up. And so you did.
With a tired grumble, you marched your way downstairs and approached the door. Swinging it open, you were met with a familiar vice housewarden.
"Hey, Jamil." You glanced around curiously before meeting his eyes once more. "No Kalim?"
He shook his head with a tiny yet sly smirk. "He's asleep."
Although it was always nice having alone time with Jamil, your sleepy mind couldn't help but wonder. "What if he wakes up and you're not there? Isn't it past curfew?"
You questioned. Kalim was anything but independent. The last thing you wanted was for him to send out a surprise search party thinking that Jamil had been kidnapped or something. The Viper shook his head.
"He won't wake up. I made sure of it." He hummed. His comment made you furrow your brows. "What do you mean youâ oh. You totally used Snake Whisper on him, didn't you?"
Jamil mischievously brought a finger to his lips, signaling you to quiet down. "I would never."
With that, you opened the door wider for the boy to step inside. Admittedly, you were used to having peopleâ namely Ace, Deuce and occasionally Malleusâ crash over and stay past curfew. The only bizarre thing about this was the fact that it was Jamil. You watched him take a seat on the couch, glancing around the living room.
No matter how many times he's been in here, something about your dorm always felt so... different from the rest. It was warm and welcoming, even more so than Scarabia. Being in here felt oddly comforting. Jamil supposed that was just the effect you had on everything.
"So, I'm assuming you didn't hypnotize Kalim and come over just to hang out?" You mused, leaning against the side of the couch. Jamil shook his head, sitting down nearby. "I wanted to talk to you about earlier... while we were studying."
You let out a small hum as you briefly recalled the events from this evening. He took your silence as an opportunity to talk once more.
"There's nothing inherently wrong with Kalim knowing you speak the language..." Jamil's voice wavered ever so slightly, his eyes darting away from you. "However, it feels more... sacred when it's kept between us."
His cheeks seemed to have a faint hint of blush on them at his admission. "It's our own little secret. Just... ours."
Stunned, you didn't respond right away, allowing for a moment of silence to wash over the two of you. Jamil shook his head, putting his hood on. "Apologies. I'm realizing now how selfish my words sound--"
"Yeah, that sounds nice."
Before Jamil's doubt could fully settle in, your words snapped him out of his own mind. With a casual smile, you move to sit right next to him. His eyes were swiftly on you, wide and flustered.
"Are... Are you sure?" "Yep. It does feel nice having something just be our thing and no one else's."
Jamil was glad you didn't have magic. It'd be mortifying if you could cast a spell to hear how fast his heart was pumping at the moment.
His hand slowly moved to rest beside yours, intertwining a single finger with yours. He felt giddy when you didn't pull away, instead encouraging the touch.
Vil sounds remorseful and saddened by your health declining so suddenly, though you can still see the green tincture that smeared the tips of his slender fingers. The poison he crafted and wasn't even hiding anymore. You could do nothing, after all.
Vil tilts your head up so he can see your eyes, usually fierce, now disoriented in a haze. Your lips are still painted a light green from the medicine he so carefully poured into your mouth, promising you'll get better soon.
You never did.
Not since you started talking back, to challenge him at every step, to question his intentions and love.
"Was the taste good?"
You grumble, your mouth dry as if you had tried to swallow sand, limbs weaker than before as each day, you saw yourself turning into a living doll for him to care for, to bathe and dress, and feed. And most of all, to love.
"I... hate you."
Vil coos at you, pressing a kiss to the crown of your head as if you were just a silly, little thing that knew nothing about what was truly good for you. And as feverish tears fell from your eyes, the world slowly going dark and the covers over your body being too heavy for you to say something else, Vil kept watching over you.
He would always be watching. And tending, and caring, and planning, until the day you were too broken to challenge him, until you learned your place as his lover.
Until then, he'll continue force poison into your mouth and you won't be able to do anything, trapped in your own body.
Synopsis: The Prefect has ADHD and was medicated for it back in their old world, but when they go to Crowley for help getting a diagnosis here, he brushes them off. They proceed to struggle until finally breaking down. (+ Crewel basically steps up as a father figure)
TW: Pretty descriptive with the negative effects of The Prefect's ADHD, Talk of medication, The Prefect cries, Crowley says the usual things people who deny/downplay ADHD say, Crewel has the "Help me help you talk" with The Prefect, The Prefect cries and is overall just GOING THROUGH IT
NOTE: I went off of my experience as a person diagnosed with ADHD and medicated for it. My experience with it won't apply to everyone else with it, but rest assured this won't be a fic that portrays ADHD like a silly, goofy little quirk. (This is a pretty self-indulgent fic, tbh)
Many people who are diagnosed with ADHD and medicated accordingly have the thought cross their minds every once in a while of "Do I really need the medicine?" When you're on ADHD medication for long enough, you forget what it's like to not function at the level you do when taking it. The memories of the difficulty focusing can slip away with time and leave you doubting. You were no exception.
Key word is were.
When you got thrown into Twisted Wonderland you learned pretty quickly that the medicine in fact does help and that you in fact do need it.
But how would you even go about getting it here? You'd need a diagnosis and for that you'd need a psychiatrist and for that you'd need money (and an official identity which you did not have as an alien to this world).
You tried bringing it up to Crowley, but he brushed it off. He said the same lines you had heard 100 times before, many of which you found yourself thinking from time to time: "You just need to make yourself work. You're unmotivated." and, while he didn't say it out loud, you could clearly tell that what he was really saying was that you were lazy.
You suppose you should have expected as much. No headmage that gave two hoots about mental health would be running a school that has no student counselor.
After that interaction you had resigned yourself to the fact that you'd have to come to terms with being a student and doing schoolwork with no relief to your condition.
You tried your best, you really did. You sat at your desk for hours on end as you tried to finish a simple homework sheet, but hours passed with virtually no progress being made. You couldn't force yourself to focus. When you did your body protested. Your brain refused to allow a single proper thought to form and your eyes wouldn't focus. If you forced the issue further, it only got worse. Your brain and eyes felt somehow heavier than usual and sometimes you swore they were slowly liquifying to a goo in your skull.
You didn't bring it up to your friends. You felt weird talking about it with them. One too many times being told you were faking or doing it for attention you suppose.
Your grades began to slip. Deadlines popped up when you could have sworn you had more time. You made little mistakes you chastised yourself for. You knew the material. You knew you knew the material.
. . .so why were you messing up.
Assignments piled up and slipped through the cracks. It's not like your teachers could notice how out of character this was for you. They didn't know how well you typically functioned when medicated, and it's not like you told them about the disorder in the first place.
Each night you held back tears of frustration as you tried desperately to get any work done. You weren't one to cry easily. In fact, you hadn't cried since you got to Twisted Wonderland, and even before that it had been a while since you last allowed tears to drip from your eyes.
But everyone has a breaking point.
You had gotten so far behind on your assignments that it was decided you needed more than to simply stay in the classroom to work during lunch and you were put in after school tutoring (although it felt more like detention).
The first few weeks you managed to keep it together. You taped over the holes that chipped away into your composure and did your best to hold down the storm of emotions that thrashed violently inside of you.
Another day of after school tutoring came around. By now not even Grim was having to stay for these sessions. There were other students that were in them, but they were in a separate classroom. You knew what was happening even if nobody outright said it.
You sat in Crewel's empty classroom for the second week in a row. The clock on the wall ticked impossibly loud. Every sound around you was amplified tenfold and you could feel it wearing on you. Your arms shook in a sick combination of frustration and exhaustion as you tried in vain to get one question done.
You could feel the ugly jaws of your pent-up emotions gnashing away at your already tattered walls of composure.
Crewel sighed as you once again failed to answer the question: "Look, I really do want to help you, but in order for that to happen I need you to cooperate and listen to me. Right now, it feels like you aren't doing that."
You had had this conversation with him before; with all your teachers for that matter. You used to it. YOU WERE USED TO IT.
You chanted the phrase in your head over and over again.
"What do you not understand."
He didn't say it in a malicious way. He sounded genuine, just. . .exhausted.
He didn't know. He wasn't aware of the storm in your stomach slowly making its way to your eyes. He didn't know.
You don't blame him, but when he said those words you finally broke.
It wasn't anything grand or dramatic like you see in movies. A small catch of your breath in a short-lived attempt to hold it together and then tears. You choked on your sobs as you tried to quell them. The only thing worse than crying is crying in front of people.
Your knees curled up onto the bench, up to your chest, and you hugged them: trying to hide your face and muffle your sobs.
It was no use. Crewel already saw the tears.
He was momentarily stunned at how suddenly you seemed to break down and could only watch as your whole body shook with the sobs you were trying so desperately to hold in.
When he finally snapped out of it he was still unsure of what to do, so he did the only thing he could.
You felt his large, fluffy coat be draped over your shoulders before he somewhat awkwardly sat a comfortable distance away from you as he waited for you to calm down.
When your sobs finally quieted to small whimpers he apologized for making you cry.
You explained it wasn't his fault and, after a bit of silence, you explained to him what was wrong.
He sat with you and listened patiently as you told him about your ADHD, the trouble you'd been having since you got here, and finally recounted your interaction with Crowley.
He led you to the infirmary not far from his office, telling you he'd be back soon and to rest for the time being.
Luckily for Crewel, the headmage's office was just about as far away from the infirmary as it could be.
He could scream as loud as he wanted without disturbing you.
By the time he returned to the infirmary it was late. He was about to apologize for leaving you there so long but stopped himself.
There on the bed was your exhausted form curled up in his coat and sleeping peacefully.
The next day he asked you a few more questions, and the day after that, he accompanied you to the doctor's office. (you didn't bother asking how he managed to get you registered as an actual person)
You went through suspiciously less steps than you had back in your old world to get the diagnosis, but you just chalked it up to the fact that it was clear by your appearance that you had been going through it.
You got your medicine the same day. Wait. . .did Crewel just tell the pharmacist he was picking it up for his child?
i have a headcanon that women in twisted wonderland do not menstruate.
cause like, even if they look like humans, their bodies don't work the exact same way as the player's. prefect didn't just come from another countryâthey're from another dimension, or universe. so they're basically an alien.
and they have magic in twisted wonderland, right? and overblotting happens when someone overuses their magic and get overwhelmed by intense negative emotions. so basically, powerful female mages would be susceptible to overblotting A LOT if they menstruate, especially if they get bad mood swings and intense cycle like most women.
so imagine a female prefect getting hauled into an all-boy's school and not one person can help you during shark week. they don't even know what's happening to you, why you crave the most disgusting food they've seen, or you cry over a caterpillar whatever.
i think only crewel and trein would be the best option to ask for help during your cycles. they won't understand what exactly is happening but they will be kind enough to lend a hand because "bleeding" always sounds serious.

đmagine an alicorn hybrid! Yuu who conceals their identity of being an alicorn up until they got sick
I have a headcanon that every fantasy creature is extinct in twisted wonderland except for dragons because humans used to hunt them. Dragons are the only creatures who get 'revived' by being half-fae but the other creatures aren't so lucky because they are either too weak physically, or too weak magically. So Alicorns, Unicorns, Phoenix's, etc only exist in bone structures in museums or in books.
But where are you from, all the fantasy creatures left in a secluded island and evolved to be more humanoid due to the slow inclusion of humans. I would imagine that some hybrids would go out into the human world and conceal their identity of being a hybrid by some kind of magic or potion and the only way they are exposed is when they are sick terribly, or they let their guard down which is very rare. So when you got transported to twisted wonderland you would cover up your horn, wings, etc with a very potent magic that the magic-mirror wouldn't detectâ and it worked! Of course it does because Alicorns are more magically powerful than dragons after all, however they are very weak physically, so you would often take vitamins and perfect your diet to make up for it, although you don't get sick, it is not impossible. But that doesn't mean you didn't get surprised when you got a high feverâ because of course you do, the universe hates you after all.
So not only do you have to take care of Grim, you have to make it not obvious that you're sick and not an Alicorn. Ah yes, this won't go wrong right?
Oh my sweet summer child you're so very wrong.
As an alicornâ a very powerful hybrid that could go head to head with dragons and win, (magically not physically) subtlety is none of your concern. Back home, when you get sick, your guardians took care of you and un-did every magic induced spell you did while you were sick like: inverting the colors of everything around you as you sneeze, the ground cracking when a particularly hard headache passes you, blowing away everything around you when you cough, and other potentially world ending things. They would fix it. So now that you were ripped from that luxury, you would try to minimize the damage, or try to un-do it, but no matter what, it comes back to bite your ass. So now Grim is running out of your dorm to get you some helpâ also because his colors have been inverted and he just wants to reverse this as much as possible.
He first went to Crewel because he's more reliable and he may or may not fix the mess that is your dorm. Fortunately, after seeing a very distressed and off-colored Grim in his classroom wailing about your world ending sickness, he rushed to you. When he saw the state that you and the Ramshackle had been, he sighed and brewed some potions that could fix you back into your non-feverish self. Now there was a problem, anything that comes close to you in a five mile radius would either get blasted off, or suffer a dis-coloration that might be irreversible. Fortunately, you've calmed down after a few thirty minutes, unfortunately, the potion doesn't work because you are a very magically powerful being so you needed a stronger potion that could kill ten elephants within an hour. Unfortunately, because of school funds, he doesn't have the ingredients for it. So what did he do? He called Crowley.
Meanwhile Grim was sent to Heartslabyul because Crewel knew how close Ace and Duece was to both of you; he hoped that those two would take care of Grim while you were suffering a fever. However, because of his chatterbox mouth, your friends knew, and by extension the housewarden got involved, then the vice-housewarden then Caterâ okay so all of your Heartslabyul friends went to check up on you, where's the harm in that?
Everything. Not only did they see a very ethereal-looking Yuu complete with a horn, wings, and a very red nose. They were flung to the other side of the room because you made the mistake of sneezing. Now they know you are an Alicorn. Great. But they were no snitches so they just ignored it (with occasional jabs here and there) and brewed some tea for you and put a damp warm cloth over your head. Crewel busted in with Crowley and escorted them out for their safety. (Crewel was surprised that no one got dis-colored while being in proximity with you)
Was the headmage shocked to see your true form? Oh dear, shocked didn't cover it. He was baffled, surprised, terrified and amused all at the same time. Now if it wasn't for Crewel's sharp glare, he would've exploited you for money, given your alicorn status. Thankfully, he promised that he would find a potent potion that could fix you quickly to end this mess, un-thankfully, he was Crowley so this would either take 2 days or 5 weeks depending on his urgency to fix this. What did you say to that? Well... You sneezed on him and re-colored him hot pink. So you could imagine how urgent he is now.
After that whole ordeal, Crewel went on his merry way to try to help you because you have wormed in his heart, so now it's his responsibility to take care of you like you're his own child.
Not only Crewel, but the other staff members as well.
Trein would come not long after, after hearing your condition through un-confirmed rumors. He brought an emotional support scarf and medicine that would mitigate the effects of your feverâ but not cure you unfortunately. He sat with you for a few hours trying to be the best adoptive father for you as he listened to you ramble about things that distracted you from this migraine that threatened to crack the floor. Unfortunately, the floor stood no chance and you almost fell through if not for your reflexesâ Trein sighed and glared at the ground like it cost him rent then informed you that he would brew tea to help the migraine subside. You managed to fix the floor before he came back. He departed from you not long after because of paper work, but you got to hug his familiar so it's not so upsetting. You are eternally thankful that he has a soft spot for you.
Vargas would barge in with a very boastful attitude while carrying vitamins that he somehow knew you took. He was very encouraging and helped brighten your mood up, unfortunately he was only there for one hour because he still got some students to teach. But he left your vitamins and some fruits on your bedside table so you couldn't be mad at him.
Sam was next and he brought you some more potent potions than what Crewel made and miraculously forced your fever to subside. You literally cried when you took the potion because it silenced your migraine, he chuckled at your state and patted your head. He was there for a few minutes ensuring you took care of yourself, that your temperature was stable and lifting your mood up, before he went out, not without worrying for you a bit and forcing you to eat soup. It was very intense and weirdly positive? Nonetheless he went out complaining about how he lost his favorite customer.
Crowley finally found the potion that could diminish your fever and barged in your door bragging about how generous he was taking the time out of his day finding a potion that could cure you. You literally had to snatch it from his hands because he couldn't stop talking, and your migraine was splitting your brain. So after you took your potion he dipped out and threatened to dock your pay. You sighed at that but finally. You were done suffering.
But now you have a new problem. Explaining to your friends that you were indeed in fact an Alicorn.
Sigh. Problems keep piling up for you didn't it?
đ/đť: now I would've written the Diasomnialings taking care of Yuu but yuu's four adopted fathers (plus a dead-beat one) was screaming in my ears for attention so I lowk grind them in a meat grinder and serve it to you guys medium rare
