I am not dangerous like it is dangerous. I’m not fast or loud or strong. I don’t have its bright, scary eyes or shiny teeth. I don’t shout at rude men at bars like it does or glare at gawkers like it does. I’m not dangerous in the way my pet is dangerous at all. I fear my pet’s sharp teeth. My pet fears my silver tongue.

yeah!!! So for every room in my apartment there’s a chain that I’ve measured to make it so it can reach most of the room except for outside exits (including the exit to the garage). The living room chain is by far the longest, something like 14 feet? The rest are 10 or less. The chains are padlocked to various points in the apartment. There’s exposed beams in my living room and pantry that I simply looped chain around and locked. There’s also a pad eye plate screwed into the pantry floor since that room is where I keep its cage. Crate? Whatever. In my bedroom the chain is wrapped around my bedframe in several places, so I have options. In the kitchen there’s an anchor screwed into the wall- this one is the worst because there’s no way to keep it from the front door so I have to monitor it SO CLOSELY in the kitchen blehhh. In the laundry room there’s a heavy duty sink that I’ve attached its chain to. In the bathroom I have chain looped around one of the grab bars. The end result is a home positively COVERED in chain. I don’t really put the chain away often so there’s just. Chain EVERYWHERE, all over the floors. When we move from room to room I’ll either leash it until we settle somewhere or have it go to the edge of the room so I can attach the next room’s chain to its other ankle then undo the first room’s chain. Kind of a process but luckily its not moving around too too much. The chains attach to its ankle cuffs (which are leather, not real shackles) except in the bathroom when it’s showering, we have a thin rubber cuff for that. Some days we’re more intense about the chains than other days. I’d take photos of the chain around my place but I am legit on vacation rn :p
