That extra moon is such a big distinction between our world and Mirrorworld, and since Cornelia Funke stroked us with multiuniverse, I was going feral! Nothing comes to my mind so relevant about the moon_s in the Inkworld. Where is your red moon, Inkfolks?! No wonder there are no goyls for many miles around Ombra - for them there is nothing to look at!

I mean there's literally a guy in the Tzar's palace I remember and his name was Molotov something.

Sound familiar? Who else has ''Mo'' in his name? OH RIGHT- Mortimer Folchart! There was also talk about a book read aloud by a princess and she read a flipping dragon out of it. Within the MirrorWorld that is.

I'm a Mirrorworld fan since the publishing of the first Reckless book (in my case it is 2011, since i had to wait for transportation back then), I'm just too shy to talk.

I'm from Ukraine, and, unfortunately, we don't have our Reckless translation yet, but we had an Inkworld books back in... I think, in 2012 (with horrible covers, I must admit), and we already republished Inkworld translation in 2025, so there is a huge hope for the Reckless as well.

I'm a MirrorWorld fan all the way from Europe and that's understandable.

I've never had nor read the fourth book in Dutch myself, hence why I mainly read the English translations of them, also because I can't read German despite it being somewhat similar.

Like, oh, this magic cannot be destroyed? This fate cannot be changed? There is no way out o this situation? Nah. I bet Jacob Reckless can mansplain manipulate manwhore his way out.

I trust him too. His second name is basically Jacob 'I love causing complex problems' Reckless

I can't wait for the final fifth novel and the possible TV series adaptation that comes after this novel series has unfortunately ended after about eighteen years or more.

Those novels hold me in such a strong chokehold I can rarily put them away and always reread them to discover a little crumb I hadn't noticed before.

Also, the picture on this blog is Jacob Reckless, which was drawn by someone for my birthday several years ago.

The amount of moons is confusing, can't disagree with that but it could be that the rusty red twin of InkWorld's moon appeared later into the sky in MirrorWorld.

Quite short this time because half the stream was about Cornelia's Artists in Residence Project that I ignored. It's a very cool and interesting thing, if anyone wants me to get into it I will, but for now I focused just on the parts about her books. Enjoy!

Inkworld

Anniversary Time! Inkheart was released 20 years ago

Cornelia just signed those sick anniversary editions and is very excited about them. She casually reveals that Inkspell and Inkdeath (and maybe even TCoR) will be released as special editions as well (there will probably be two years between each book). Also, the people behind this project will speak to the German publisher in order to maybe do something similar for the German editions.

People are once again asking about the release date for TCoR in English - Cornelia's daughter has just begun the translation process but as it is a book with 80000 words it will take a while. Cornelia guesses maybe Fall 2024?

In TCoR news: The illustrations are done and sent over, the layout is done, Cornelia is very happy with the book and thankfully so is her daughter. Main Characters are Dustfinger and the Black Prince but a few other, quite young, characters as well. Quote Cornelia: "That question will come up in the book, who will end up saving the world? The young or the old? We'll see."

Q: When is Jacob's birthday and what's his favorite food? A: His birthday is in May but Cornelia is not sure of the exact date. If you wanted to treat him to dinner you should just surprise him - he loves trying new foods he's never eaten before

''Fine, I give up''. No words hurt more than those as they fell from the lips of the eldest brother.

Especially when considering he had always been there for his younger brother Will. Well, almost always...

He had been there for him at the playground whenever four graders would pick on him. Making them run as fast as they could when he'd appear on the playground, shielding Will and punching them in their faces, kicking their knees and punching them in their stomachs until they'd hand Will's stuff back. He had even gotten into a fight with a girl once but that had little to nothing to do with Will getting bullied.

He had been there for him each time he was unable to find sleep when they had been younger; either terrified by thunderstorms, the dark, monsters in his closet, mr. Tomkins; which jacob had told him to be a human-eating Ogre living in the elevator, causing him to be extremely scared to go to preschool. Will would often seek comfort near his eldest brother. He'd have slowly opened the door, standing on his naked feet in the dark, hugging his stuffed animal close before he'd slowly make his way over to his bed and crawl underneath the covers. This would wake Jacob. He'd be annoyed at first but soon go back to sleep, wrapping his arms around Will and hold him close.

He'd have his back. He'd be rescueing him from his nightmares. He'd keep him warm and safe. Always.

Except for the day they had to fend for themselves all of a sudden and had no one but each other left anymore. When Will needed him the most, he was nowhere to be seen. Will was left on his own, experiencing sleepless nights and pain. Not just from the fact they only had one another to look after now. Pain from standing in his brother's shadow. Envy, so much envy.

Will was his brother and he loved him. That was the truth. Their sibling bond was unlike any other but ever since he had discovered the mirror it had begun to gradually show subtle cracks.

These days each brother had taken different paths and travelled different roads. They were living different lives and even so Jacob couldn't help to stop carrying him. To be his brother's keeper. Up until now. Celeste wanted him to forget his brother, but at the same time also wished he could see him again, knowing how much Will meant to him. Or had meant to him.

To seemingly grow further and further apart after so many years of protecting his little brother, being there for him through thick and thin for the most part, hurt. Yet neither of them could really dwell in the past. Jacob was who he was. Will had accepted who and what he was now.

It was best to keep it that way even though the eldest didn't want to have things remain like they were between them now. He wanted to mend their bond, but to mend it seemed too late. Far too late.

I remember this one moment being quite funny. Like, Jacob enters, these Dwarven secretaries say something about Valiant being too busy and to come back later or something and Jacob's all like "Alright I don't have the patience for this... Get into the cabinet." before he goes to waltz over to Valiant's office to make him that offer in exchange to be taken to the valley. The one valley where Jacob also got his back torn open by Unicorns many years ago.

I seriously need to and very badly want to reread every single Reckless / MirrorWorld novel again. I haven't done so in a while and really miss diving into my go-to novel series.

While the fandom for Reckless / MirrorWorld seems to be vastly smaller than the one for Inkheart / Inkworld I am so glad we exist.
