new here (well, technically i made this account in 2019 and never used it. we don't talk about that)

but i'm genuinely trying to be present this time because the book community here looks unhinged in the best way possible

i read fantasy, dark romance, romantasy, the ones with morally grey men and female leads who probably need therapy but won't get it. very normal reading taste.

genuine question for the writers here though:

when you're writing your characters, do they look like specific people in your head? like do you have a face claim, or is it more of a vibe/feeling?

because i've always wondered how authors keep their characters consistent across hundreds of pages without them shifting visually
