I absolutely loved playing GRIS. It's so beautiful and truly astonishing. It made me cry. So of course I had to draw something. Have GRIS and her little robot creature. ♥

𝓹𝓲𝓷𝓴

This drawing is different from what you know about my artworks. I like to tell you a story about it. (All links follwing are photographs and videos from my camera.) Because of Covid-19 I had to stay at home for like 4 months. During this time I've got to know the nature and especially the birds a little better. In April 2020, there was this one bird, who tried brooding for like seven times. It was the redstart. He build his home inside our carport at the very top with moos and animal hair. And even “fake hair” from one of our old cushions (you take what you can get). But his nest was destroyed by the house sparrow, every single time. Sometimes earlier, sometimes later. The seventh time, the female redstart started finally brooding without getting in contact with the house sparrow. So we installed a wildcam to see how it would work it out this time. There was no sign of the house sparrow for like twelve days. Finally!, I thought. Now they'll can raise their little birdies!  But no... One morning (just a fews days before the hatching), a male house sparrow flew over to the nest and picked (at least) three eggs out of there before he destroyed it completely. Luckily I had the culprit on our wildcam. Because no one believed us that house sparrows would attack other nests. I was truly speechless and saddened by this brutality. Yeah, I know. It's nature. There is hardly anything we can do about it. But the determination the redstart couple had, was just amazing. Everytime their nest was destroyed, they had to build a new one. They tried it; again and again. Until the seventh time. Then, they gave up. I was truly touched by this, so I felt like drawing this spectacular bird. The drawing is based on one of my photographs I took during april 2020. Thank you for reading.
