You always took pictures of them.

Besides Grim by your side, you always had the ghost camera.

You took pictures, sometimes when they least suspected it.

You took them as if time was running out.

Or as if something to hold onto.

When they would question why so many pictures, you would tell them, “I’m taking pictures of what’s important.”

The would continue to tease.

It was only when you left, did they truly understand what you meant.

You left behind an album; the ghosts of ramshackle told them.

You had made two copies.

One you took with you when you returned, and one for them.

They flipped through the album, taking in the fond memories spent with you.

That’s when they noticed.

None of them had it.

There weren’t any pictures of you.

“Want to know what someone fears losing? Watch what they photograph.”

My friend told me the quote a couple days ago and then I remembered the Yuu angst that was trending a few months back, where they take pictures of everyone but themselves so I thought to combine it. 🤭💞

The first years were playing truth or dare— a typical sleepover for sixteen year olds y'know? They were learning little facts about eachother, they were fooling around, and most of all, they were having fun.

Until... Ace remembered something about you when the bottle coincidentally pointed at you and Ace.

"Wait..."

You gulped.

"Didn't you have a crush on Jamil when you while you were kidnapped by him?" You laughed nervously. Epel looked at you like you grew three heads and Jack had that 'of course you would do that' face. "Y-you didn't ask me truth or dare by the way!" You stuttered.

Ace however was too appalled that he jumped and pointed a finger at you. "I KNEW IT! OH MY SEVENS I KNEW IT!" he looked at the surprised Deuce and slapped his back, "I TOLD YOU THEY WERE ACTING WEIRD AND YOU DIDN'T BELIEVE ME."

"I'm scared to ask—" Jack sighed "but why?" His disappointment seeping through his words as he looked at you with an expression that said 'just why?'

Ortho nodded with him. "Yes! Romantic attraction to someone who did harm to you is..." Ortho paused in confusion "confusing?" Then he beamed in intrigue "I would like to know why!"

Epel just pointed at you with an irritated face. "YER' BAR IS TOO LOW! WHY ARE YA' LIKE THIS??" While Sebek just looked at you with a horrified and confused expression "WHY??? I THOUGHT HUMANS RAN FROM DANGER?" He stuttered before continuing "N-NOT BARE ROMANTIC ATTRACTION??"

You groaned "GUYS STOP PLEASE I HAVE A GOOD EXPLANATION"

Surprisingly everyone went quiet.

"Okay. So like..." You waved your hands "he's good at cooking" you emphasized.

"..."

"Is that it?"

"... Yeah?"

Deuce sighed in exasperation. "So when you learned how to cook the MOST COMPLICATED FOODS IN SCALDING LANDS just for you to spend time with Jamil-" sebek continued for him "WAS BECAUSE YOU WERE ATTRACTED BY BASIC HUMAN ABILITIES??"

"IT'S NOT THAT BAD." you screamed in defense

"NOT THAT BAD???" all of them asked in disbelief.

"S-so- WAIT SO WHEN YOU WROTE A 5FT LETTER FOR AZUL-" Ace gasped. You widened your eyes. "HOW THE FUCK DID YOU FIND OUT?-" he cut you off "WAS BECAUSE YOU LIKED HIM??"

"how interesting! It seems as if prefect enjoys being treated horribly by their crushes!" Ortho said in fascination. You groaned in response while hiding your face from this humiliation ritual.

"And when you left gift baskets to Ruggie filled with his favorite things..." Jack said with a slow realization. "was because you... Liked him?"

"..."

"WHAT????"

"I'm going the fuck back to bed."

the only other character was vil, who was aged an insane amount, and his response to that was a chance to exemplify his character growth. he'd taken rook's words to heart. beauty isn't only skin-deep, and even if it were, it is only your perception of yourself that truly matters. if you believe yourself to be beautiful, then you are beautiful.

then, there's riddle. he wasn't physically aged beyond his hair going white. why is that?

well, what alice in wonderland character has white hair?

the white queen.

the white queen who, in the original story, is incredibly childish in contrast with the necessity of maturity incredibly early on in life in victorian england.

riddle who played a video game for the first time because one of his peers was nagging and teasing him. riddle who laughed with his friend after defeating the original overblot phantom because it was just cool.

riddle who broke down sobbing after his overblot because he just wanted to play with his friends a little longer.

the white queen who, in the 2010/16 movies, is a kind, selfless ruler and mentor in contrast to the embodiment-of-anger red queen.

riddle who used his own magic to charge their spear. riddle who risked his life just to buy the others a little more time.

riddle who's gone out of his way to figure out how to help his dormmates succeed, even when it meant learning how to use an entirely new-to-him platform, because he doesn't want them to fall behind or struggle.

riddle's white hair is also to exemplify his character growth. he isn't a raging tyrant anymore. he's learned to put his anger aside to be kind and patient and selfless.
