Fabric mail just have to fix my sewing area from what the frostgiant did to it :-) What to you think Ladonna?
So it looked like Thor from far away, close up it was just a frost giant which I'm sending back today. I will do a blog post on tumblr later on what mr. Frosty did today.
50 posts!
Working on my first ITH project and I'm starting to get annoyed 4th broken needle because of how the presser foot keeps shifting.

What I think of so far with the Futura Quintet! (First impression)
I just got in the new machine from Singer. I purchased it on HSN when it got released. I so far was able to do one sewing project and one embroidery project. I will attempt an endless design here soon. Sewing :
The machine was easy to set up for sewing a little slower sewing speed then what I am used to. I love the knee lifter for the presser foot. I think that will come in handy a lot. It does come with the card that shows what stitches are what. I think if you are familiar with sewing it should be a breeze for you. Embroidery:
At first I was slightly confused because of how the manual is set up. They have it to where English and Spanish are all combined so everything can get jumbled up. I would prefer them to have two separate books. I did figure out to put the software in your computer first then hook up your machine. (While I was installing the software I set up the machine changed the presser foot etc.)
When it comes to hooping I feel like they will have a little bit of a learning curve on how it doesn't just snap on. This is one feature I don't care for and seems like it will take up some time unhooping and hooping especially if you do this for more then a hobby.
On to the actual embroidery I don't like how you have to start the machine then stop to cut the extra from the thread. But will get something over time that just becomes habit. I did a design that came with the software which was a star that was really simple and easy to figure out how to send it to the machine. I then used the Hyperfont which was very user friendly as well.Β The software in general I do see that it will have a bit of a learning curve to it. I so far tried to use a design I already had and had some issues with finding how to edit it. But it is just something that will take some time.
Overall- I'm still on the fence about this machine but at least I'm not regretting purchasing it. Brother has had my heart for a while and that will take a little to win me over. I still am really excited about the features and all the little extras the machine came with. So far I would still say I prefer my Brother PE 770 and would recommend that machine for first time users to the embroidery world. Which I will come back in about a week and let you know if that changes. :-)
Just got done with first trial design. #futuraquintet #Singer #HSN #MiniContour #embroidery
And we are embroidering. :-)
Here we go. Fingers crossed.

Tested out a few sewing stitches so far I have already done more then the xl400 has done. Sewing does not seem to bad a little slower then I like bit there are still some settings I have not tried yet. I love love the knee lifter and think it will come in handy for some of the projects I do
Time for the boring part to read the manual. I've heard these are some picky machines and have to go by the book word for word
