You Can’t Repeat The|Past
Of course, he tried his best to play along with her expressions, quirking a playful brow. Although formal by nature, Bryan enjoyed a small joke or playful jab on occasion as much as any other person, however his responses often came lackluster. “Indeed it is, but it’s also for old people— No wonder why I’m feeling the age creeping up on me already.”
Chuckling at his own joke, he kept with the act he was trying to pull. He was oblivious to anything going on behind their planned meeting, having been too caught up in studying to worry about anything else.
“No offense to your dad, of course. I’m sure he’s a guy with exquisite taste. They also say it’s the businessman’s choice in sport, so it’s not a surprise.” He snapped his fingers for emphasis, sporting a wide grin in accompaniment.
Not usually as talkative, the words happened to flow from the man’s lips effortlessly when talking to her. It was as if he could keep talking to her for hours, and his listening in return would likely come due to her sweet voice. However, the conversation derailed when the food had arrived. Catching sight of the surprise in her expression before the waiter exited, Bryan offered a light caress to her cheek, wanting to kid around once more before starting the meal.
“What was with that look, huh? Maybe someone here is more hungry—“ Fork and knife in hand, he cut a small piece from the steak, offering to feed her.
“Why don’t you see for yourself, Minyee?”
The small touches and even the feeding, she figured if this was how it was going to be, she may as well do her best to get used to it. Swallowing hard, MinYee took a moment before leaning her head in, eyes curiously gazing at the man as she pulled some of her blonde locks behind her ear, finally taking the piece he offered into her mouth. It probably helped that the first time she tried the dish that it was from such an expensive place, but it was delicious. She took the moment of trying it to collect her thoughts, making mental notes to herself to remain cool and chill. Better get used to him if he’s going to be the man you’re with forever..
“It’s great!” She sang out, her smile beaming as she grabbed the fork and knife, taking a moment to look at how he was holding it, mimicking how he even cut it. She had to wonder if this was how she’d be eating from now on, and beyond that, how soon this would all be happening. “Uhm, sorry if this is a bit naive,” she decided to start off, the curiosity getting the better of her. “Do you know what happens after this meeting?”
Her parents told her very little about the important stuff, they mainly covered the big picture of her bringing back the family fortune, etcetc, so she knew nothing of the actual mechanics of it. “Do you just take me on your white horse and carry me away?” She asked, with a playful giggle. Cutting into another piece of steak with a bit of difficulty, she placed it into her mouth, her eyes never leaving his gaze. “Or do you have to give my parents three cows and two sheep first?” Another joke, although this time she forgot about her manners, talking in between chewing, the realization dawning upon her as her eyes widened and she brought a hand to her mouth.
