if thereās one thing that haneul could say heās good at with absolute confidence besides singing, it would be an obsessive-like preservation. haneul leaned against the mirrored walls, eyes closed and arm slung over a hooked knee. the new song demo had been playing on repeat without a pause, alternating between chinese and korean version every ten plays. itās as if heās using the voices and converting them to memory, like a podcast, and itās the least he could do when heās resting.
heās been adjusting back to idol life fast after the holidays. even though his dinner date had ended up to be an overly indulgent three-day stayover, haneul couldnāt say he disliked the companionship. in fact, the visit had been extremely fruitful, and considering how both of them are on the same line when it came to relationships - aka having none of the strings attached - it was an arrangement haneul could deal with.
plus, it was a comfortable stay.
haneul rotated his neck in a series of slwo stretching exercises, crossing his legs. he could already hum the tune of their comeback, and heās gotten the korean lyrics down. itās the mandarin one that heās struggling with, though itās a matter of braving the pronunciations.Ā
he doesnāt have much lines to begin with, and as it turned out, it was working somewhat in his favor when he had to perform in a foreign tongue. it doesnāt mean haneul wasnāt putting any effort in it, however.Ā
as per usual, he would never allowed himself to be less than perfect.
or in other words, he would only be as close to perfection as possible.
theyāre also halfway through the choreography, but until they recorded the song, haneulās not in a hurry. choreos changed one too many times, and haneul knew that it wouldnāt be finalized till closer to date, but theyāve been following along with whatever has been covered, and rehearsing every day without a bat of an eye.
slender fingers rapped on the flooring, and haneul glanced at the phone when the screen lighted up. a small grin lit up his face, before it disappeared quickly as he picked it up.
it is midnight, and itās time to catch a break before things got a tad too busy. but regardless, he knew that meeting was probably out of the question till the comeback was officially over, or so he expected.Ā
maybe.Ā
( heād see. but heās not going to go running so quickly. after all, isnāt the chase a good part of the fun?Ā
plus, type zero will always be his focus, and no one will be able to take it from him. )

he hadnāt had such a relaxed holidays in a while.Ā
he hadnāt even had a proper holiday since he signed his official debut contract. haneul could vague remember the last time he went home, only to return in three hours, a hand print on his face hidden by a mask as he waited for hyunbin at the station.
things had changed all too much. haneul stretched, wriggling his toes on the bed. the dorms felt quiet, though he knew not all of his members went home, and even if they did, it wasnāt for the full holidays. haneul yawned, rubbing his eyes with the palm of his hands, then glanced at his phone. as much as he wanted to sleep in, his body was up, mind churning along the gears forcing him out of bed.
at least he got two hours extra of sleep, which was a novelty.
he didnāt even asked to go home this holidays, knowing that his father wouldnāt be fond of him, and heās tired. tired of fighting, tired of the disappointment that his father had for him. heās learning that he couldnāt please everyone.
especially his father.
eyes scanning over the message that he has yet to reply, he bit onto his bottom lip.
he could tell that the elder male was fond of him. haneul had learned very quickly after dating for the first time, to identify the kind of desires sprawling in the depths of peopleās eyes. the experiment with the teacherās assistant proved him right, and now as heās receiving the little gift parcels sent to his house...itās as obvious as ever.
but he wasnāt sure if it was a simple sign of courtship. heās heard rumors of mingling to rich people like him; heard the tales of monetary exchanges in change of something that had to be of equal value. and heās not sure if heās...all about it.
haneul canāt deny that heās attracted to him, though. the man was as good-looking as an actor, for one, and haneul canāt deny that sometimes, he can be rather superficial, especially when it came to first impressions.
( plus the kind texts and gifts that took into account of his likings...itās sweet. itās different. it makes him crave for something more defined, though he knew he wasnāt about the relationship life for a while. )
he hummed, sitting up, eyes wandering as he thought.Ā
surely...a dinner with a new friend shouldnāt be a bad thing, right?
eunho watched haneul as he waited for a response, but the response he got made him both relieved and concerned at the same time. eunho had some mandarin in high school but decided not to take that extra class if he did not have any use for it, how he regretted that now. they did have chinese traineeās but they knew korean or at least english to some degree, so he had never struggled to communicate, but now he had to learn.
as a leader, he should be able to introduce and speak some mandarin, maybe he was putting pressure on himself but in his eyes. it was his responsibility to be ahead so he could support his members. even if he did not have to, eunho wanted to do what he could as a leader. the word still feels surreal to him, but he needed to get used to it.
ā i have not studied it before; this would be a first, ā he nods slowly, he wasnāt sure where to start because he wanted to be somewhat prepared for the workshops.
āwell then...weāre in the same boat, hyung!ā haneul chuckled, moods lifted. honestly, if eunho knew the language, it would be great because haneul could have someone to run to. but starting off on the same spot in square zero wasnāt a bad thing either. in this case, theyāll be able to progress on matching pacing, and hopefully help each other get through the class.
āi heard that the chinese characters may look like hanja, but they might have very different meanings and pronunciations,ā haneul hummed, thinking back about some of the discussion points heās had with other trainees and members previously,Ā ānot that i was great in hanja, but you know.ā the male smiled, one arm slung around the otherās shoulders.Ā
ādo you think if we start watching some chinese dramas and listen to mandopop, weād at least be able to catch simple conversational chinese along the way?ā

thereās a bit of panic both in alexās expression and also heard in his tone as he looks at haneul, eyes widened when the question is being asked about the difference in the two sounds, quick to look back down at his own notes as he stares at the two written out on the piece of paper in front of him.Ā āwait, thereās a difference??ā he frantically asks the other in a hushed tone as he stares blankly at the words. this was one of the reasons why he never bothered taking on other languages, at least not all at once like he was currently doing, because despite him having actually gone to collage languages were the most confusing to him even when he didĀ try his hardest.
he slowly lets out a small sigh as he shakes his head finally in response.Ā āi donāt even know anymore⦠iām pretty sure if we get graded on all of this, iāll fail miserably.ā he half jokes as he responds to the other male. alex begins chewing on his bottom lip, squinting just slightly as if the words written out will just magically make their way into his memory somehow, though that would be tooĀ easy. wouldnāt it? itās only when he hears haneul speaking once again that he finally returns his attention to the younger male.Ā āi think it would be best if i didnāt⦠iāll give you the honors this time, you know, since youāre technically myĀ āsunbaeā and allā¦ā
was he pulling thatĀ card right now? yes, he was.
he blinked dumbly, before a silent laugh left his lips at alexās frantic expression. learning languages has always been a difficult thing. itās not like a math subject, with theories and formulas. at least, to haneul, thereās a lot more rules to remember, and the only way to ace it was more practice. the male let out an inward sigh, making a mental note to start recording and revise his work before going to bed every night - maybe even start listening to more mandarin pop too.Ā
āeyyy hyung,ā he whispered back in a volume just low enough for them both, but not looking up as he searched his pencil case for a highlighter,Ā āiām sure weād be fine. itās all about speaking up, i suppose. iām sure they wonāt fault us that harshly since weāre complete beginners.ā thereās a lot of optimism in his tone, a little too much as he had to convince himself first and foremost.
eyes widening at how alex threw the ball back into his hands with such smoothness, he parted his lips, then shut it abruptly. because it is true that heās technically the sunbae, as much as he joked about it before. letting out a dramatic sigh as he straightened up,Ā āhyung, iām doing it just for you,ā he puffed his cheeks, and then readied himself.Ā āhello,ā he greeted in mandarin,Ā āi am type zeroās ji haneul. i am vocal mainly, i am twenty-two...boy,ā he struggled with the pronunciation of his mandarin name, but pushed on with absolute faux confidence,Ā āalso, i want...no i like... xiao long bao.ā
hello! happy to meet everyone ahead of the winter season with @1stlookofficial! so, itās already the end of the year. have you been staying warmš§£? december is the mark of holidays, and also a busy period for type zero. i hope that youād be able to gain strength and warmth through our upcoming performances! weāll meet soon š

alex didnāt understand whyĀ he was having to learn yet another language, especially since he was still trying to learn japanese forā¦reasons. how was he supposed to do both at the same time? he was still trying to figure that all out even as him and haneul sit there listening to the lesson going on. heās doing his best to listen, to follow along and pick up on everything that their being taught, though as heās trying to take notes itās just not sticking as well as heād like for it to. alex canāt help but squint slightly as he looks down at the notes he had taken so far, listening as the instructor begins to tell them to pair up with one another to go over everything with a partner.
he turns to the other male and blinks a few times as he stares blankly at him.Ā āhaneul. i think my brain is going to explode with all of this.ā he jokingly says before managing a small groan.Ā ādo you have any of this down or are you as lost as i am right now?ā he asks this as he waves the small notebook around. it wasnāt like he didnāt mind learning a whole new language, though honestly this was the worst time for him to be doing this. though, he knows that itās necessary, especially since he had just made his debut and would possibly need to know more than just korean in order to get by at some point in the future. it would make things easier for interacting with fans at least.
thereās a bunch of words scribbled onto his notebook, the handwriting turning uglier as the page progressed, a mix of hangul and wonky chinese characters. diving head first into a new language wasnāt scary, but tiring - thereās a new set of hand strokes to learn, and pronunciation to go through. on the bright side, some chinese characters looked like hanja, and haneul would shamelessly say that he has a beginnerās cert to recognizing hanja letters back in middle school.Ā
on the flip side, the words he learned in that course was totally different from conversational mandarin.Ā āi...think i need some time to revise them. can you get the difference between that āsiā and āshiā sound?ā he whispered back with a sigh, head tilting to glance at his notes, then turned his focus back onto his own. haneul tried to note the pronunciations in the nearest korean letter he could find, hoping that somehow, heād be able to read a full sentence later on. before he could say another word, the teacher was now asking them to pair up and try their own introduction with each other.
ā...hyung,ā haneul turned immediately with a radiant smile,Ā āyou want to go first?ā
things are getting busy again, and haneul welcomed the change of pace. even as his emcee gig at mucore was coming to an end, thereās more in december to look out for. gayo stages lineup has been announced, and even though haneul was doubtful of type zero clinching any awards this year, they were still invited for the event. singles were to be dropped, and this - being in a photoshoot wearing sponsored outfits and swarovski accessories - solo gig were all hopeful signs that things were changing for the better as new year comes around.
at least, haneul hoped.
he looked at the camera, lips pulling into a wider smile when prompted.
well, regardless of it all, haneul was appreciating all the little solo activities he managed to score over the month, including this cover featuring. itās still weird to be snapping photos without any of his peers around; even in cfās, haneul would meet with fellow legacy boys and girls on site, and even occasionally with his members.
itās odd. it felt empty yet, the sceneās buzzing with staffers. like heās alone, but not quite.Ā
( maybe heās used to being around others more so than he thought. )
not that it fazed him. there was more excitement that masked the nervousness. thereās no lie that having a solo cover was stroking his ego; haneul firmly believed that no one who lived for the spotlight wouldnāt like having his face grace covers of magazines that he once read on a monthly basis. it was this split second that he was reminded of hyunbin again, the boy whose face was plastered on billboards and youtube ads, whose smile still dazzled him even if he would never speak of it aloud.
he took a deep breath, bowing almost instinctively when the photographer gave theĀ āokā sign, calling for a short break. thereās still two more outfits left to go, and the male was happy to clinch a quick rest as they touch up his makeup and throw him into another fitting.
just as he was zoning out, eyes glazing over from the weariness seeping in the moment of silence, the door clicked opened. haneul shot his eyes wide opened, arms still raised in an outstretched position as the outfit coordi were tugging the fabric into place.Ā
eyes fell on the tall male walking alongside the editor, head raising slightly to match the sight. styled hair and sharp features, thereās an air of coldness around him; itās as if he doesnāt quite fit in with everyone else in the room. haneul would have guessed that they were a model, but he would have remembered a face like that.Ā
his lips curled at one corners, and haneul felt the tips of his ears turning pink.Ā
getting caught staring was always an awkward moment. the vocalist let his arms dropped as the coordi stepped away, turning his gaze towards his manager who was engaged in polite greetings with the editor.
ā...introduce, this is president woo, heās just making his rounds around the studios. he also brought us some refreshments, so please do help yourselves at the table outside.ā
giving a small bow followed by a soft greeting, he watched with mild interest as the assistant busied himself, handing out name cards to a handful, including his own manager. it was weird to see a business-y session taking place backstage of a photoshoot, but haneul chalked it up to his lack of experience. perhaps this was how people getĀ ācontactsā.Ā
after all, itās connections that made the world go round. he knew how it worked, even if heās never experienced the korean office environment himself.
casting a curious glance at the card trying to look for a name, there was another knock on the door, with one of the staffers calling for both the editor and manager for some discussion with the photographer. the assistant turned towards the two remaining ladies, prompting them with a quickĀ āwe also brought some dessertsā, inviting them towards the refreshment table outside. and just like that, the bustling space turned into a quiet one.Ā
āji haneul-ssi, right?ā
eyes shot up, locking onto those narrow pair once more.Ā
( even his voice sounded good, too good to not be a celebrity, haneul mused. )
ā...yes, thatās right,ā haneul straightened up, but he couldnāt reach the otherās height,Ā not even with his heeled leather shoes.Ā āji haneul of type zero, please take good care of me.āĀ
a more formal greeting this time, which was followed-up by a name card offered to him. haneul took it with both hands and a polite smile, an instinctive habit he had whenever he met someone new, and even more so when in presence of someone in authority.Ā
āi enjoyed your performances.ā
itās a straightforward statement, one that can be easily classified asĀ āpolitenessā over aĀ ācomplimentā. still, haneul could feel a more genuine smile surfacing, this time the tinge of pink slipping across his cheeks, adding a very mild flush under the foundation.Ā
āthank you.āĀ
( itās also the way president woo was looking at him, and haneul could recognize that sparkle in the depth of those orbs. it spelled āinterestā, the same way one would like a hunter meeting a prey. haneulās no longer the boy that was oblivious to such hints any more, and he could tell after a trialed and tested session with his teaching assistant a few months back.
without a doubt, he could tell what kind of āinterestā it was. )
the taller male nodded, hand slipping into the pocket of his suit pants,Ā āyouāve worked hard.āĀ
with that, he left without looking back, leaving haneul all alone in the room, with the name card in the cradle of his hands.Ā
ā...woo jaeyoung,ā he mumbled under his breath, reading the name and title printed on the laminated card. but what caught his attention the most was the scribbled number in black pen, a mobile number thatās wholly different from the fine print.Ā
a personal number.
of all the times heās been in public spaces with other people, of all the stories heās heard like the inkigayo sandwiches, haneul had never received a phone number in his very short career as an idol. perhaps the managers had been doing a fabulous job. perhaps heās not popular enought to warrant one yet.
this was the first one heās successfully received. looking up at the empty doorway, where the glimpse of his backview had long fade from sight, he lightly chewed his bottom lip.
then quietly slipping it in between the phone cover, hiding it from sight.Ā
after all, thereās nothing wrong with making a new friend.
( though, he wondered if there was a catch. )
the vocalist wouldnāt have time to think about the number until later that night, as he was laying in bed with just he mobile light illuminating few feet in front of him in the dorms. his manager came back soon enough, a cup of grapefruit ade and fruits offered to him as a booster before another few hours of photoshoot had commenced.Ā
how many things had just landed on eunhoās plate in a very short amount of time, he had been chosen by the ceo and the other coaches to be the leader of type zero, an even more surreal thing than getting picked to be a part of the group. sure he could faintly remember himself saying or thinking that he wouldnāt mind being a leader but never did he think that it would happen this way.
along with his new role, he had been told that he needed to learn languages⦠english, mandarin or japanese and eunho immediately wanted to learn japanese for taiyou, but they recommended mandarin so that was what he decided he should start with.
thankfully, haneul had agreed to do it with him.
ā haneul ah, ā eunho had gotten comfortable around the younger since moving into the dorm, being around him and being his roommate truly made everything easier for him, he was even comfortable dropping honorifics with the younger, ā have you studied mandarin before? ā
things are finally falling back on track. haneul stretched his arms, doing his nightly routine to ease out of the dayās worth of training, towel around his neck to catch the last remains of dripping water from the shower not too long ago. as the group ready for their official public appearance later that month with the new lineup, and a leader to actually lead them forward again, haneul felt like he could breathe a little.Ā
āhmm?ā he hummed, looking up as he crossed his legs, blinking at the elder.Ā āah...neee ha-ao?ā haneul responded in accented mandarin, the only few words that he knew. chuckling as he shook his head, he continued softly,Ā āno, i havenāt. iāve only picked up a tiny bit from one of the chinese trainees weāve had, and from old hong kong movies, but...itās a difficult language.āĀ
haneul crinkled his nose, almost like heās doing a bit of aegyo despite being a giant 22-year-old man, but itās a soft sign that heās getting more and more used around eunho.Ā āitās very different from korean and japanese. how about you hyung? have you picked it up before?ā
For some reason, Mia was finding that hard to believe. Josh will perhaps be Miaās most memorable love. Not only was he her first love, but he was her first everything. He held such a strong place in her heart that she never thought sheād get over him. Their relationship ended long ago but there were times where Mia still caught herself thinking about him and their past.
She nodded with a soft smile. ā Correct! Not as exciting as being an idol but itās fun, ā she giggled. Mia knew Shinha through Mirae. Her best friend was his older sister and both girls bonded over their brother complexes. Seeing the way Haneul spoke about Shinha made Mia feel happy. It was clear how much love Haneul had for his best friend and from what sheās heard from Mirae, she can see why. ā Thatās true. ā
She nodded as she listened to him. The one thing Mia worried the most about her brother becoming an idol was not only that he was looking after himself, but that he was happy and healthy. Sheād always worry about it. That came with being an older sister. ā Well Iām glad to hear heās doing well. Future Dreams wasnāt always easy to watch, ā she chuckled. ā Alex has always had a way with performing. He is oddly charismatic which is something you wouldnāt think if you spoke with him. I love watching him perform. ā She grinned brightly.
haneul took another sip of his drink. was being an idol exciting? perhaps there was that novelty of debuting and the adrenaline pump back then, but more than excitement, haneul felt a deeper sense of responsibility to uphold. surely, heās not the leader, but it didnāt change the fact howĀ ātype zeroā was important to him. perhaps itās because heās been there since future dreams, so the name in itself held a certain meaning.Ā
āacting is equally as exciting, iām sure. i always thought being able to live different lives through movies is a really cool thing,ā he nodded earnestly. he had thoughts of venturing into acting some day, though heās got a lot more on his plate right now. pausing, he looked around.Ā āah, itās not to say being an idol is boring. it definitely has a different kind of fun,ā he chuckled.
he could kind of get what mia was saying. even as a participant himself, watching future dreams where his peers are fighting for a debut chance was rough. looking at the shine in miaās eyes when talking about her brother, haneul smiled. he too wished that his family was as supportive, but alas heās gotten used to the reality.Ā āfuture dreams can be really rough, no doubt. but it really did offer interesting opportunities.ā haneul hummed in agreement, āyou must be really proud to see how he made it through the finals.ā
āand...ā he laughed softly,Ā āalex hyung is pretty charming when he speaks, too! i think heās unexpectedly fun, despite the first, sterner impression. ahh, and he was such a great help cooking for us back in the dorms too! i think i would have starved without him.ā

things had been...busy. in between re-recording their old songs, learning the new walking points of their choreography with the new members, some of the side projects such as co-hosting on music core, and going for workshops and lessons in between when time allowed, his schedule was packed.
it took a quiet walk down the han river at 2am, pushing his bicycle as he looked out at the slow waters that he realised just how much he liked being busy. hyunbin once called him a workaholic, complaining how little time he had for him back in those days, and haneul remembered laughing on the phone call to say theyāll meet up soon.
they never really do, not ever since he became a member of type zero, and he meant it back from the future dream days when they won the opportunity to promote as a temporary team.Ā
itās nights like these that haneul remembered just how bad he was at the dating game. he wasnāt the one that confessed first, wasnāt the one that put in the effort to chase after someoneās tail; he wasnāt the one on the phone whenever hyunbin called, but hyunbin would always find him should he so even sayĀ āi miss youā.Ā
he was never quite there for him. thereās work, thereās training, thereās fans, thereās himself...
and then, thereās kwon hyunbiin.
after all, heās a selfish, selfish person.
he still remembered hyunbinās tears saying that heās cruel for leaving him just a few days after a short holiday. he remembered how his own heart broke too, but the tears came much later, when heās all alone in the dorms one day, standing in the showers just so the running water could hide his miserable sobs nearly a full week later.Ā
and then he buried himself in work again. it was never enough. he stayed back after normal training, dedicated every waking hour to something in his life so that he could forget the boy with the hopeful smile and a deep bass voice callingĀ āhaneul hyungā at every chance he could get.Ā
it worked.Ā
the ache faded. the urge to call him whenever he wanted someone to listen was replaced by the tests to other peopleās number. and when he saw his spread on an indie magazine, repping a new brand after joining a modeling-focused company, he didnāt even feel a single twinge in his heart.Ā
sometimes he wondered if he ever loved him.
meh, he probably did. itās just he loved himself more.Ā
haneul took another deep breath, pulling the mask back over as he got back on the bicycle. tomorrow was another full day.
something about dark rooms such as this one made arin feel like she had to be more cautious, despite having someone such as haneul with her. she didnāt really like horror themes and with darkness came possible jump scares. itās true that arin didĀ love halloween because she got to dress up in different costumes each year, though that was about the only thing about the holiday that she cared for, knowing very well that others like to have moments where they would try and scare people because it wasĀ āfunā.
she slowly makes her way in behind haneul, keeping very close to the male just in case something, or rather someone, decided to come out and make some sort of attempt to frighten them. she can only nod slightly when he warns her to be careful, feeling her own heart pounding within her chest as her gaze darts back and forth in some sort of attempt to keep a close watch just in case something didĀ happen.Ā āiā¦.iām okay.ā itās a quick and simple response to the question.
even while theyāre standing at the table in the room, arin makes sure she sticks to the older male, trying her best to pay attention to him even when she takes a seat.Ā āuh⦠iāll go with the choco pieā¦ā her tone is shaky as she speaks, fidgeting with her own fingers as she does her best to smile sincerely at the other.Ā ādo you think this will take long? are the questions hard?ā she questions, the hint of nervousness being heard within her voice as she even looks over at haneul.
see, haneul had never been superstitious. growing up, he himself was a free-thinker, and he never believed in ghosts and the such as heās never encountered them. thus, haneul had never been concerned about all the creepy designs and potential pranks during halloween. surprised, maybe, but never scared.Ā
at least, so far.
āchoco pie?ā haneul repeated, already opening the bos as he handed two packets to arin. heās almost sure that somethingās going to pop up eventually, and it was a matter of time. looking at the poor girl, he tried giving an encouraging smile. compared to the other female trainees, haneul had seen arin around from time to time, making small chat and all, so heās always felt that sheās a little soft. now, she just looked a bit unnerved.Ā āi donāt think so! we just need three questions, but we can start snacking too. letās see...ā the male picked a random, fun question,Ā āwhat is one superpower you would like to have, and why-ā
he didnāt get to finish his question fully as the lights flickered, and from the corner of his eyes, he could see aĀ āfigureā gliding from behind him.Ā
Ā Ā Ā Ā Ā hyoseop isnāt the type to let things get on his nerves, and even less with people. hyoseop handles his anger surprisingly well, and he is barely ever angered by anything. however, annoyed? too often. there was close to zero anger in hyoseop, but irritation there surely was, he could quite more often than never get irritated by things. however luckily enough hyoseop was also quite good at handling his irritation and barely ever let it be shown. but then here it comes, something he most surely didnāt expect, he gets hit in the head, by what? no other than an alien head, yes, an alien head. not once of course, but twice, right after each other.
hyoseop stands there, open mouth, baffled, what happened, why did it happen? hyoseop looks at the costume, people surely are getting creative this year. hyoseop doesnāt remember his old companyās halloween parties ever being this interesting. costumes werenāt that fancy, not that hyoseop contributed into making cool costumes for the parties, he wore the same costume every year. here in legacy nobody knew that of course, they had never seen his woody costume he had worn for the past many years. āitās me, sheriffā he points at his star ābe careful before youāre arrestedā he laughs shortly. āyes iām woody, and you are? trying to knock me out?ā he jokes, another short laugh leaving his mouth.
hands raised, haneul reached behind his own head to steady the bobbing costume. itās all fun and games when he tried it on earlier on, but considering the trouble heās been causing, it really was becoming more of a nuisance. at least, everyone seemed relatively chill about it.
( if haneul would add, heād like to say that lee shinhae sunbaenim looked very amused by it, which was a very big plus. )
āplease donāt arrest us!ā he raised his hands, laughing softly. eyes following the direction where hyoseop pointed at, he scratched the sides of his cheek.Ā āthis little green boy is a little aggressive- i mean, excited. heās never seen this many humans before,ā he patted the green head again, shifting weight of his foot from one to the other.Ā āwe mean no harm,ā the vocalist added quickly.
āright, iām ji haneul, currently a vocalist in type zero,ā haneul introduced. as much as he wished type zero was at least known by the average person, arriving at the party was a huge wake up call to his budding ego - that heās no way making it in the industry as a rookie. he cocked his head, āare you possibly new here?ā
āwoah...ā stepping into the room, holding the door open till his partner walked in, haneul took the chance to take a good look at the surroundings. itās not his first halloween party at legacy, and definitely not the first time heās got a tingling sense of something thatās about to go down.
after all, if legacy can remove an entire wall to show a live audience of over 100 people while they sleep, then anything could happen. just the thought of that made him felt like the whipped cream two years back was simply a piece of cake. the door shut, and haneul made his way to the center table, nearly tripping in the dark. āopps, you gotta be careful arin,ā he added, lightly adjusting his inflatable costume,Ā āitās quite dim in here. you alright?ā
holding up the mission card to read it aloud with her, he nodded slowly.Ā āseems like we have some questions to answer before we can leave,ā he said, gesturing for arin to take a seat as he slipped into one of the chairs as well,Ā āand these must be the snacks. choco pie, gummy, chips...it looks good! what do you want, arin-ah?ā

Ā .Ā Ā if heās honest, subinās noted something .. a little off about haneul since he saw him earlier, but without know what it was and also knowing that they had a performance and their happy charade to maintain, he hadnāt the chance to ask him about it.Ā he wasnāt even sure if they were considered close enough for him to ask, let alone note that something was a little weird.Ā but approaching him now doesnāt really help much, because they still have to be gracious to their fans.
subin huffs in his exertion, but is grateful for the quick respite that came with finding the other amongst the crowd.
and haneul never fails him.Ā taking the tissue gratefully, subin dabs at his temples and his forehead, not pulling away from the otherās side.Ā Ā ā thanks.Ā you always come through.ā he grins, balling up the tissue in his hand and sticking it in a pocket for later.Ā Ā ā i didnāt expect it to be so hot.ā he mumbles under his breath only for haneul to hear.Ā Ā ā but i guess i should have known how many people were going to be here.ā
after stretching quickly, subin slings his arm around haneulās waist, nodding his head.Ā ā lead on.Ā canāt keep them waiting too long.ā he says with a quick grin, matching his stride with haneulās as they approach the line of fans.Ā Ā ā how much do you want to bet theyāre going to ask for us to make a heart in a minute?ā
thereās just too many people to share about the latest updates on their group with subin. it wasnāt the right time nor place, and what if the vibe heās got wasnāt right as well? haneul wouldnāt know, heās still in the midst of understanding and finding his footing in the team, as well as the teamās footing in the industry. he shook the thoughts away as quickly as they came upon him, and locked eyes on subin.
āha, i know, right? and to think itās october...but i can already feel the tee sticking to my back,ā haneul chuckled, subtly adjusting his outfit with little tugs of clothes here and there. still, he made sure to keep his smile on throughout, in case there were cameras that were just facing his direction.
walking towards the group in a tow, haneul leaned towards him so that he could speak up without yelling,Ā āiād say...a dollar-ā he hadnāt even finished his words when the girls in front of them started screaming, enough to make him hop back in surprise. heād probably even trip, if he wasnāt holding onto subin in the first place.Ā āwoah, that surprised me,ā he laughed in embarrassment, one hand on his chest. wide eyes glanced over at subin for a split second, then he made brief talk with the fans.
As much as Jinseo hates parties and huge crowds, he has to admit that being around people he used to train with is fun. Itās nice to catch up with everyone he hasnāt gotten to hang out with ever since he focused on modeling, and itās nice to see everyone in something that isnāt their usual training clothes.Ā
Jinseo smiles when Haneul comes into view, the inflated bobbing alien head standing out from almost everyone else.Ā āIndeed it has,ā Jinseo says with a chuckle.Ā āI feel like I havenāt seen you since before I left for Europe earlier this year.ā It has been way too long since Jinseo saw his former roommate.Ā āIāve been busy with the brand and other things. How about you, Haneul? How is the debuted idol life suiting you?āĀ
At the mention of his costume, Jinseo gamely poses.Ā āI went as Childe from Genshin Impact,ā he says.Ā āA few friends and I thought it would be fun to match each other and all⦠Besides, I had to come up with something that will top last yearās Disney Princess.ā He chuckles to himself.Ā āI see you have been abducted by an alien⦠Planning to feed the alien to let you go?āĀ
āitās been more than a while, to be āaccurateā,ā haneul laughed, setting his plate down on the high counters around them.Ā āright! iāve heard that some of you are working on your own brands, howās that going? sounds like fun.ā the male hummed, head tilting to the side. he tried not to focus on the fact that type zeroās going through another lineup change, but couldnāt stop the smile from dimming slightly.Ā ātype zeroās been...on quite a ride lately,ā he admitted, but held back the sigh.Ā āweāre...going through a bit of changes so...crossing fingers on that, really.ā
ābut, debuting definitely marked a new beginning.ā he grinned at the costume talk, leaning back so he can take a good look at jinseoās cool outfit,Ā āi think iāve seen your character online before! on some ad.ā chuckling as he recalled last yearās disney costumes, he nodded,Ā āi say thatās a pretty successful change, though both are equally as memorable.āĀ
turning his body to the side and bumping jinseo in the process with the squishy alien, haneul moved his body to make the alien bobbed around.Ā āi feel like the alienās feeding me instead, really,ā the vocalist shook his head with amusement on his lips, playing along with the youngerās words. āi have to say, heās causing me quite some trouble already, bumping into innocent passerbys. he canāt seem to find his spaceship just yet, thankfully.ā
