Me? Oh, he’d dump me, but only when it was my fault anyway. Leaning too far forward? Over his head I’d go, and he’d just stand there looking down at me on the ground with a “you deserved that” air about him. But on one memorable occasion I got popped out of the saddle after jumping a liverpool, like fully laying on his shoulders and neck. He kept me on, but paraded around the arena to show off my embarrassing position to the no less than 12 people that happened to be around that day. They were all laughing too hard to stop him or help me. To be fair, I was laughing, too, which did not make my goal any easier. Finally I managed it, and Ed got a big juicy apple later in thanks.
