I miss it here sometimes.  I had a lot of good times here.  I feel more and more out of place, unless I have something huge to contribute to the fandom.. I left because of drama...now the drama has slowly flooded to twitter, so there is no where that is safe.. I often wondered about those folks that had been Rhett and Link fans for a long time...I am talking 10 years or so. After research, I found that the majority of the stories are “ I wanted to be noticed for being loyal and contributing. After I received that and then no matter what I did, never was recognized again, I quit trying...”  I wonder how many more are and will be lost because of that.  There is only so much “ noticing and recognizing” that can be done especially with the growing audience. So the small battles that are just jealousy related.... are not worth the time we are spending on it.

I have a hard time watching those that cannot separate what they see on screen, or actively play out at a Conference, from reality.  I see a backlash from it, from other fans.  That instead of seeing it as a possible mental illness, it is seen as an irritation and a reason to lash out. Bullying online will always be a problem, but remember, you don't have to be part of the problem.

What do I suggest? What do I suggest then as a ‘fix’?  I have none, we will all have our opinions and preconceived notions about others and their opinion. The best I can recommend is separation.  It is the only thing that has benefited me personally.  One can get so wrapped up in something that one forgets about the “in real life” relationships and even the “in real life”  budgets.  Some spend way beyond their means to get noticed...for the first time...or AGAIN (which makes it worse). Not to “meet their faves” but so that their “faves” “know they exist’ so they can go on living in a fairy tale.

I’m so sorry, it is so sad.. I hate that I came back to post this...But, it is my blog.  Just know that *no “character” mentioned in this entry is any particular person that I may know irl*
