The thing is, there’s no way to know where these people are coming from. In the before, when fandom was more in the corners we all knew about, you could search LJ or a message board or whatever social bookmarking site we were using. You could join the community and participate.

You could get a little dopamine hit by seeing someone tell their friends why they loved your story.

Anymore, those recs are hidden in discords, or in tiktoks or instagram slideshows that you can’t search for. They’re inaccessible, not discoverable unless you’re already there. You may never know why 27 people left kudos on an old story of yours, what they liked and found in your writing. You just get the thumbs up and a kinda lonely feeling, cause these could be your people. You could like them, maybe. You could be friends.

But you’ll never find out why they stopped by, or what people are saying about you behind your back, and that’s sad.

-Ep1, Ragatha claiming that the search for an exit will drive a person to abstract, despite evidently only witnessing one abstraction which wasn't even caused by that?? i think, i've only seen ep9 once and my brain short-circuited after the mom trigger lmao

-Ep2, Pomni's abstraction nightmare, circling back to everyone but Jax reaching for her despite little to no positive interaction with anyone else but Ragatha at that point, giving the vibe he was gonna be the outlier somehow in the end

-Ep3, Kinger saying the worst thing you can do is make a person feel unwanted and unloved, which is exactly what Jax very plainly did to her at the turning point later. also hey Kinger wtf did you do to your wife/what do you actually think of Jax hellooo

-Ep4, return to Gummigoo/existential crisis, Pomni contends with the problems of others while shelving her own.

-Ep5, Pomni starts actually hitting it off with someone, seemingly realizing there's someone just as lonely as her there if Jax is also favoring the company of NPC, but that's my take on it.

-Ep6, the whole fight and friendship rejection thing to make her feel like shit

-Ep7, derails a bit with Jax frying his eggy brain on acid, but Pomni returns to obsessing over an Exit
