Why do some people forgive while others don't?
Some forgive because they no longer want anger to occupy their mind and heart. They choose peace over resentment.
Others refuse because certain wounds destroy trust completely. They are not seeking revenge. They are protecting themselves from being hurt again.
The truth is that forgiveness and reconciliation are not the same thing.
You can forgive someone without inviting them back into your life.
You can let go of bitterness while keeping healthy boundaries.
You can wish someone well from a distance.
And sometimes, the most important lesson is this:
Protecting your heart is not the opposite of forgiveness.
Sometimes, it is part of it.
